I hired Elmina to cater our wedding scheduled for July 2012. My fiance was deployed to Afghanistan at the time and came home early due to an injury. We had to cancel the wedding and Ms. Ross, the woman I was in contact with, promised to give us half of our deposit but has since been giving me the run around since early March. I would discourage anyone from working with people who don't honor their promise, especially to wounded veterans. Terrible service and not trustworthy.

Great catering choice for our wedding last month. Food was superb! Staff was very attentive to our needs and our guests request, as quirky as some were I heard. Would recommend to any couple for their wedding. And very affordable also. Most competitive of all the proposals we got over the span of our 10 month planning process.

Excellent choice on our end for our daughter's wedding. We hired Elmina Catering & Event Management after seeing their work at my co-worker's son's wedding. The food was just as good if not better for our daughter's wedding. Staff was professional, clean manner, polite. Great choice for any mother looking for peace of mind.

Simply put, they were amazing. They managed our reception like pros. Their staff were very professional and attended to our every need. Standard to their policy, they assigned my husband and I a personal waiter the entire evening that made sure we were taken care of the whole night. He was there everytime I turned around making sure I wasn't hungry or thirsty, LOL, so cute! And the food was amazing, my italian family was very pleased which is hard to accomplish.

I love this catering company. First of all, they were the only ones (out of the dozens of caterers we called) who were willing to work with our tight budget. We had a huge 350 guestcount wedding reception at a reception site in Manasssas, VA. Since this site does not have a kitchen, our caterer had to bring in all of the kitchen equipment. They handled the challenge like champs. We treated our guests to a dual plate of a crab stuffed salmon and a beef tenderloin meal. The food was so good. Mike and I made sure to take a few minutes out to eat. Our set-up was just as beaufitul. The linen selection our rep assisted us with turned out to be even more beautiful under the chandeliers than I anticipated. I have sinced hired Elmina Catering to cater our company's holiday christmas party next month. Can't wait!

Elmina Catering catered our Sept. 19th wedding at the beautiful pg ballroom in landover, md. They were great. They were certainly the best decision in the whole wedding planning process. They were very flexible in working with our tight budget and even provided us with two free appetizers which was a relief to us. Their staff was very well dressed and very professional. Our open bar was great and our signature pink drink they created for us was so thoughtful. Great choice for a wedding caterer!

PS- Try their papaya garlic shimp skewer! To die for!!!!

I plan on suing this caterer for consumer fraud and breach of contract. they were completely unaware of what they were doing! We surprisingly were provided ONE server, two kitchen staff, and ONE bartender (who could not operate a tap or shake a drink - huh?) for our 100 guest wedding. There was not enough food, which was not ready for the time we went over to serve it many times, and it appeared like nothing any of the photographs we were given. We had to ask many times for photographs because they would not let us taste the food. Most of our guests never got ANYTHING to drink in a 5.5 hour event, even though we paid extra for lemonade and ice tea service.

The site manager later told us that they were difficult to work with before and after the wedding.

They were not accommodating to any of our concerns. During the wedding, when we complained, they told us that they are following what was written in our contract, but when we got home we had discovered they had lied, taking advantage of the fact we could not look at the catering contract AT OUR OWN WEDDING.

I don't know who that other reviewer was, but I get the impression this caterer will only do a professional catering job if she's your close personal friend.

I hired Elmina for my wedding. The staff did not show up until 15 mins before the ceremony. I heard them yelling at each other as I was saying my vows. When we had finished pictures after the ceremony, they had run out food and I realized that the food that was brought was not what I had ordered. The staff had to go to the local supermarket and buy frozen meatballs and cheese to serve once they ran out of food. I did not eat at my wedding because there was no food set aside for me and my husband. We had to order a pizza when we got to the hotel at 1am. I still have family members commenting on how there was not enough food at my wedding.

I spoke with Willyne herself and she was very apologetic and promised a partial refund. I am still waiting for my refund, none of my calls have been returned.

I would not recommend them, and regret hiring them to do my wedding.
