My wedding was May 6th 2006 and Jake was a life saver. We were running extremly late due to pictures on the mall and when we arrived Jake had already started his magic. Not only did he DJ the reception,he was our host and did the meet and greet for our guest. All this was on a whim and not planned. We had a variety of people in our crowd and Jake was able to please all tastes when it came to the music. He also was the MC for intro's of the wedding party and everyone in the party. His wife was also on hand to help out the bridesmaids etc. We had a bag piper and Irish dancers that he also introduced. All in all I would highly recommend Jake for any friends wedding and I have had others use him that were at my wedding. 5 stars for everything provided by dream day DJ's.

We used Jake for our DJ at our wedding, and had a wonderful experience with him. We met with him pretty early in the planning process and was very pleased with how he kept in touch when the date got closer. He was very detail oriented and made sure he had everyone's names right and every little detail in place. He did a wonderful job the day of the wedding, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!

Jake Ritchie was a wonderful DJ and a pleasure to work with! My husband and I were wary about choosing a DJ without first meeting him in person (I live in Colorado and the hubby was overseas), but Jake was very professional and easy to communicate with via telephone and e-mail. He eased the planning process by providing detailed bridal sheets which covered the introductions, special dance selections, must play songs, etc.
He was very flexible during the entire reception and went out of his way to ensure things ran smoothly. He played all of the songs on our 'must play list' and kept the dance floor full all night long. With all of the stress and details of a wedding, it was great to not have to worry about our DJ. We would definitely recommend Jake Ritchie for your big event!

Jake was a great find (kudos to my husband/then-fiance) for locating him. He is very professional and conscientious and did an excellent job.
He was early to every planning meeting, carefully inspected our site to figure out the best configuration for his equipment and help us plan for the same. He also went over our timeline in detail (more detail than any other vendor) and made suggestions to help things flow more smoothly. On the day of the wedding he was early, polished and pleasant in all respects. And he really impressed us by practicing the pronunciation of the names of all those (e.g., our grandparents) that he was announcing. He also ordered some additional songs from the group that we gave him a song from for our first dance (which was a good thought) and he had lights on our dance floor that we weren't expecting but were a great touch.
The one glitch was that we requested Pearl Bailey's cute, upbeat song "Two to Tango" (it takes, two to tango, two to tango, two to really get the feeling of romance...) for our cakecutting (since I have danced tango for years and had taught my husband some). Jake ordered the song from a service he uses, but they gave him the wrong song (a weepy song also called two to tango but not at all similar). We knew right away that it was the wrong song and wrong mood, but it took him awhile to change to something more upbeat. Nobody but us really noticed, so I mention this more as constructive criticism for Jake to beware of that service and maybe have a backup song ready. On other songs we chose, he shared MP3s with us to make sure they were right, so that's a good practice. (Actually, had I known he was going to order it, I could've given him a copy).
That said, I highly recommend Jake - he's a great choice, great quality and reasonably priced.

Jake is truly a standout DJ. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond makes him very easy to work with. All communication was very efficient. Jake always responds to phone calls and emails well within 24 hours. I am glad to say that Jake was the one vendor I never had to worry about, given the stress that comes along with wedding planning, it is really a plus.
At the reception Jake ran the show very smoothly. He played music that was very accessible to guests of all ages and it showed since the dance floor was always moving. He was very flexible with the playlist and when he was told that we were running behind, he made sure we still heard all of the songs we most wanted.
I appreciate the maturity and expertise that Jake brings to the table. It is reassuring to know that when you meet Jake and work with him - you know that he is the DJ that shows up on the wedding day. There are no surprises and no hidden costs when working with Jake. You get what you pay for - excellent quality and a vendor who is on your side working for the bride and groom.

Jakes performance at our wedding was fantastic!! He also played for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Our guests had an awesome time and the dance floor was never empty! Genia, his wife was our wedding coordinator. During the ceremony they worked together and the timing with the music was perfect. She also did an amazing job and the day went very smooth. I would highly recommend them to other couples!!

Jake Ritchie is a one-man show, and the pride he takes in his work and in his business is evident upon first meeting him. We felt really good about booking him as our reception DJ, and he worked with us to make sure the venue could accommodate his services. (We had our ceremony in a restored home that is now a restaurant and there were challenges figuring out where to have the dance floor, where Jake would set up his equipment, etc.) He came to the venue site and met with us for almost 2 hours figuring out the details. Jake was great to work with leading up to the event, and on the wedding day he was a calm and welcoming presence at the reception. The only aspect that we were disappointed with was he didn't play all the songs we requested on our "must-play" list. Understandably, he was working off the crowd and probably played what he thought was appropriate, but there were at least 6 songs we requested ahead of time that I really wished I had heard/been able to dance to on my wedding night that, in retrospect, I am very disappointed he didn't play. I would definitely recommend Jake's DJ services, as he is very professional and well-experienced, but my advice would be to be very clear with him about your expectations...if you want certain songs played, be very direct with your desires.

Jake did a wonderful job as the DJ for our wedding reception. He played all of our favorite songs that we requested and our guests had fun dancing up a storm! He was very flexible with our plans for the day and we found his professional fee to be very reasonable. We would recommend Jake's services to future brides and grooms!

Jake was the DJ for our ceremony and reception and everything went amazing. The sound was set up well at the house for the ceremony and the reception went smoothly. He took care of the screen and projector for our two slideshows and worked with me ahead of time to make sure the shows would work out on his equipment with no problems the day of. Definitely would recommend using his services to others.
