Working with Dozen was admittedly stressful for me. My initial tasting meeting happened over the wintertime and we were told to schedule another tasting and come back again in the summer for new flavors. We were impressed, the guy was so nice. I tried emailing our original contact and he was no longer there, so I was then sent to contact someone else. They were very hard to get a hold of and never returned calls or answered my emails. Finally I got a hold of them and I was surprised to hear how less accommodating they were of our available schedule for tasting. Our first meeting occurred late evening on a Monday and so we tried scheduling that again and they could not accommodate. We ended up not tasting the new flavors and guessing what we wanted. I had sent over all my information that they would need via email a week or so before calling again and had asked kindly that they call or email me back to confirm they received it no call or email. After not hearing from anyone for over a week after sending that email I called and got yet another person. They seemed to be the most organized and surprised I wanted to finalize my details and pay my balance a month before the wedding. They said they had received my details but she didnt have time to go over them and they would call back in a week or if I dont hear from them call them back. I had to call them back of course. And they said they DIDNT have any of my details, so I had to repeat it all over the phone. Even after that we had one final issue, they had the venue name and address wrong, even though I gave it to them more than once both on phone and email. Luckily my mom had called and checked. I know this sounds like a lot of bad, but in the end they did deliver exactly what I wanted, on time and it was delicious. The guests loved them. The man who delivered them was so nice. I would recommend them, but only to a not so detail oriented and laid back person. If you want to do stuff on your own time, not a chance. They will get to you whenever they have time. But...it is so so delicious and adorable end product :)!!

Working with Dozen was at times frustrating. While our initial consult with the owner of the bakeries, James, was very promising, however, near the end (2 days before our wedding to be exact) our order had still not been placed correctly despite sending multiple emails regarding the flavors of cupcakes desired. Ultimately, though, our guests loved the cupcakes and the presentation was beautiful. If Dozen is able to hire an adept catering manager to handle weddings I would gladly recommend their services to any Pittsburgh bride.

Instead of a traditional cake, we had a tiered cupcake dessert from Dozen Bakery. It was beautiful and delicious. Passersby stopped to look in the window at our cupcakes!
