seriously, the DJ community in the DC metro area is not only saturated, but completely overpriced. i found a gem with Dj Vern (DJ Greyhound)! he was likeable, responsive, organized, and best of all - affordable. we spoke on the phone twice and emailed a few times the 6 months before my wedding, but never had a chance to meet in person, but i wasnt worried. (he is available to meet in person if you like). he showed up on time, was appropriately dressed, and there wasnt ONE HICCUP with any of the music or sound set-ups. i would highly recommend DJ Greyhound Dj services to anyone planning a wedding and will refer him to any of my friends getting married as well.

Vern Shird/DJ Greyhound was great as our wedding DJ. He provided microphones, ceremony music, reception music and acted as MC for our wedding. We were very pleased with the sound quality, music choices and his ability to keep events on track. We requested he make a special birthday announcement in honor of a 90th birthday and he went above and beyond to get the photographer ready to take photos and get everyone to sing to her. It was the extra effort he put forth that made it really special. He was always responsive to our emails and gave helpful feedback on the timeline of our reception. The dancefloor was packed throughout our reception and he was flexible with the flow of our event. As a special bonus, he provides a cd with songs from the wedding which we're having a lot of fun listening to. We may be biased but we think he did a better job than the DJs at other weddings we've been to. Great service at a reasonable price.

If we could give DJ Greyhound six stars we would, especially for value and flexibility. A glitch with another vendor left us without music for the ceremony, and within minutes Greyhound stepped in to literally save the day. We had not discussed the ceremony music before, but his selection was perfect. And he was smooth with transitions during dinner and reading the crowd on the dance floor. We recommend DJ Greyhound without hesitation.

Vern is an absolute pleasure to work with. He is professional but he is also very down to earth and personable. What might have been boring or awkward pre-consultation appointments became interesting conversations. We asked a lot of him and he gave us almost everything we asked for. We sent an extensive playlist--much of the music was not your typical wedding fare--and he was able to work in a lot of the songs we asked for, balancing them with other songs to keep the party going. The dance floor was never empty and we received a number of compliments about the music. We elected to do an anniversary dance (I was a little bit skeptical about this, to be honest), and it was very touching when Vern congratulated the couple who had been married longest (54 years!) and asked what their secret to a happy marriage is. People really loved this. Overall, it was a great experience working with Vern and I would absolutely recommend him.

Vern was great to work with. He said his services were all inclusive and he was honest. My husband and I gave him every piece of music we wanted played at the wedding - some pretty obscure stuff - and he found it all! We wanted our wedding to be elegant but when party time came around he turned up the volume and delivered at the reception. Everyone had a great time - the dance floor was occupied all night! He definitely set the tone for the wedding we wanted.

Vern was an amazing DJ. He took the time to talk with me before the wedding, and ensured that my event was classy but fun. He knew exactly what music to play based off of the feeling of the crowd. I would hire DJ greyhound over and over again!

DJ Greyhound is THE BEST!! He did a fantastic job on our wedding on May 7th. From the beginning, he was very responsive and very easy to work with. I didn't give him a lot of direction as far as songs we were looking for or the type of music we liked, but he took the info I did give him, ran with it, and did a great job! He had everyone from our friends to my grandparents out on the dance floor! He did a great job of mixing music the older guests enjoyed with more current songs. I couldn't have asked for more! Vern was one of the best vendors we worked with during our wedding planning. A great value for this area, and he always responded very quickly to any questions we had for him. Most importantly, he did a great job at the wedding, for both the ceremony and reception, and kept our guests dancing all night!

Book this guy!!! I had been looking high and low for someone I could trust to NOT be "that DJ" at our wedding. I didn't want a lot of interference during the reception and DJ Greyhound made me feel very comfortable that I was booking the right vendor. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a huge music selection. All I had to do was pick about 6-7 songs I wanted played at our reception and he filled in the rest with some great picks! I also used him for the ceremony music and while my head was spinning at the time, right before I walked down the aisle I noticed that the music was perfect - perfect timing (which I was VERY worried about, as I only used one song for the wedding party and bridal entrance), perfect volume, perfect everything!

Dj Greyhound did a superb job at our wedding. This music selections were just right and we appreciated his professionalism. The cd wedding gift was a thoughtful gesture!

Vern provided music for both the ceremony and reception. He played a variety of tracks from our music listing and took requests throughout the evening. Very pleasant to work with!

DJ Greyhound was aweseome!! He answered all of our questions before we booked him and was a great source of information! He played all the music we asked and kept us on time for the evenings events. All of our guests loved DJ Greyhound and he played music and kept all age groups involved in the dancing!!

DJ Greyhound provided great music and (light) emcee services (as desired) for our wedding reception. He books up quickly, so I was thrilled to have my date available when I contacted him. We were able to have a "no play" and "must play" list, and he even gave us a CD of special wedding songs from our reception after the reception ended. He kept the dance floor packed throughout the evening and requested phonetic spellings of our bridal party so that he was able to pronounce our name (which can be difficult) and the names of our bridal party members correctly!
