I ordered earrings from Diamond Nexus during a clearance, and got an amazing deal. Unfortunately, I received an email two days later saying that the earrings I ordered sold out and they couldn't make another pair. I was offered a refund or exchange, just as anyone dissatisfied with their item would be offered. I spoke with Perry Weber from Customer Service, and he couldn't offer any discount whatsoever as an apology for DNL's mistake. By the time I was notified of the mistake, absolutely nothing remotely similar to the earrings I wanted was available, unless I wanted to pay 5 times what I had originally paid. Getting in touch with Customer Service was easy, but I was extremely disappointed in DNL for taking zero responsibility for their failure. Based on this experience, I'm very unlikely to order anything from them again.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Hi, My name is Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus. I want to apologize to you personally for the inconvenience and disappointment you had when trying to order from our special clearance sale. Unfortunately, there were items that had limited quantities and due to an error with our order system, a few extra orders had been submitted before we could stop them from going through. I will do everything that I can in order to assist you in making your experience with Diamond Nexus a positive one. Please email me at jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com and provide me with the name on the account so that I can look into options for you. Again, I am very sorry but I am positive that we can come to a solution for you. Sincerely, Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus.

My name is Travis, 31, from indiana. My girlfriend and I have been looking at rings for awhile (5 months ugh..) and trying to find a ring that is both beautiful and financially responsible. Some of you are probably laughing as you know its nearly impossible!

After alot, I mean alot, of frustration my girlfriend out of the blue brought up lab created diamonds. I had never heard of them and was skeptical. beyond skeptical. We talked about it, did some research, saw some bad reviews of diamond nexus, saw some good reviews of diamond nexus and in the end we decided to drive to the diamond nexus store located in Chicago to take a look at them in person and judge for ourselves.

I've been visiting jewelry stores for 5 months, with and without, my girlfriend and probably have held somewhere around 2000 rings in my hand. I was pretty sure I could tell a quality difference in the stone and also the ring itself.....I couldn't. I thought if I breathed hot air on the diamond nexus stone it would fog up like a CZ.....it didn't. I thought the mined diamond ring we borrowed from a family member to compare to the diamond nexus would blow the diamond nexus away......it didn't....actually looked idendtical and on top of that the platinum band on the family members band looked cheap compared to the diamond nexus white gold band. We left the store in shock and walked directly over to "big time" jewelry store that startes with a Z and rhymes with whales:) and started trying on diamond rings. Bottom line the diamond nexus was better. Why? Quality was just as good, stone just as shiny, and had fewer imperfections which I immediately noticed in the Z store (rhymes with whales) and the price value doesn't even compare.

Hopefully this helps other couples out there. I am an average guy working a 9-5 job who just wants his future wife to have a nice ring. I just wanted to share my real life comparison test.
Thanks, Travis

Hi, I am the bride to be and the issues I've had with this ring has brought me to tears from both embarrassment and being extremely dissatisfied. As I type up this review my ring is making an obnoxious rattling noise because the main diamond is loose, again!

My fiance proposed to me this past Oct 2012 and I was so excited. At first glance the ring was beautiful. Within about 30 minutes I noticed the mil work on the sides of the ring was very poor.

When we got back from our week long trip my fiance called customer service but they said since it had been over 30 days since he originally purchased it he could not get his money back nor get a brand new one. All they could do is fix it at no cost. No cost being a lie since you have to pay for shipping. This was extremely embarrassing since I was newly engaged and our friends and family wondered where the ring was. It took 2 WEEKS from the time we sent it out to the time we got it back. I told people that i had to get it resized when they asked where my ring was.

When we received the ring back from DN I noticed that they tried to fix the mil work on the side but the quality was ok, still looked like an amateur jeweler worked on it. Literally within the next day the main diamond started to become loose again and rattle. Wow, was I upset. I talked to a customer representative and they said they can't do anything about it except return it back to them to get it fixed once more. I asked how can I expect DN to fix it when they didn't the first time? I can't keep returning it over and over again.

We had an engagement party after we received it from getting repaired so I could not send it back. Now with the holidays I can't

My fiance was skeptical when I showed him Diamond Nexus. We live on the west coast and there are no stores here to visit. I have two pairs of stud earrings from DN and absolutely love them!! I wanted a diamond that I KNEW was conflict free. Luckily, he followed my lead and did some research of his own on DN. My ring is absolutely beautiful!!! I compared it to my grandma's $16,000 2 carat stone and you can't tell the difference. Needless to say my grandma was also shocked. The quality of the ring is great. It feels very sturdy and is great quality. My fiance also said that the customer service was great. He had purchased one ring that when he received it he didn't like it as much as he had online. He exchanged it without a problem. He surprised me with a beautiful ring and a beautiful proposal in the middle of the airport. Thank you Diamond Nexus for my amazing ring!!!!!

We ordered a ring from Diamond nexus and within 2 months one of the stones had fallen out. They say they will replace the stone for a nominal fee, but you will have to pay $35 for the remount, and $20 to ship it. I have owned lots of jewelry in my life and have NEVER had a stone fall out. I read reviews where others have run into this same problem. We where going to buy both of our wedding bands from them but after this experience I will never give them anymore of my money. We are going to purchase a ring from a real jeweler who takes pride and responsibility for their product.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Dear Pamela, My name is Jennifer London and I am the Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus. I wanted to reach out to you about your recent ring repair issues and the frustrations that you have dealt with. We do have a policy in place that completely covers all ring repairs within the first 30 days of owning the jewelry. Outside of that time frame, we do replace missing stones for a nominal fee. This is something that is common across the jewelry industry, as regular wear of rings and unforeseen occurrences and ring damage can occur with wear, depending on how jewelry is worn and what it might be exposed to. We strive to keep these fees quite low, to only offset our costs, not to make money off of our customers. Any jewelry, no matter where it has been purchased from, can loose stones, depending on the ring style and how it is worn. I am happy to look into your account history for you and assist you in getting your ring repaired. We value your business and want to restore your faith in Diamond Nexus and make sure that you have a beautiful ring on your finger that you can wear proudly. Please email me at jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com with your order number and name on the account and I promise to do everything in my power to guarantee your ring is repaired for you quickly and back in your possession as soon as possible. I look forward to working with you soon~ Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus.

I dropped my engagement ring and soon to be wedding band off at the store to be re-sized on the 20th. I called on the 26th to check in on my ring they say everything is fine its being re-sized as scheduled and it will be back within the 7 to 14 days as stated. So day 14 rolls around I call and ask about my ring. The sales person tells me he needs to call corporate and will call me back. then finally my fiancee, has to call him back after we wait for a call for an hour with no word. The sales rep says that its actually 10-14 business days and promises my ring will be back on the 9th of April but they give me a loaner ring for the time being since I have my engagement pictures scheduled. The 9th comes still no ring we again call the store. They now say its 7-14 business days after the jeweler gets it. My fiancee goes and gets my ring today at the Diamond Nexus in Schaumburg , IL at Woodfeild mall.He comes home hands me the ring with new AIG certification papers and a new receipt...weird that the ring came with new papers. So i read my old papers and compare them to my new papers. Its not my ring. I know this because i can see what looks to me like they ordered a new one of my ring on the 26th the first time i called! and the AIG certifications are different. We have contacted corporate and their statement was that the company often will order new rings instead of re-sizing a ring if the jeweler feels its needed as to not diminish the value of the ring. I was never told this. I see this no where in my paper work. i wasn't told this one the day i dropped it off or any of the 3 days i called! The rings may be the same design and of the same monetary value but the sentimental value of my original ring is gone! This is not the ring my fiancee proposed with and I was never asked if it was okay to take my property "because I owned that first ring" and replace it with a new one. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Had they of told the truth I would have understood. I feel lied to.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Hi Samantha, My name is Jennifer London and I am the Social Media Coordinator here for Diamond Nexus. I can see that you are quite frustrated with the issues surrounding your ring and band sizing and I want to help out if I can. First, I contacted the store to inquire more about the situation. I understand that the ring and band needed to be sized and that the sizing needed to be a whole size, which in most cases except simple solitaires means that we do need to remake the rings or they can be compromised and have stone issues later. I apologize if a salesperson had failed to mention that to you before sending it off, but as you had just gotten the ring and we do offer free sizing within the first 30 days, this is also something that many customers take advantage of prior to their weddings. The shipping timeframe from the store to our corporate headquarters can be a bit confusing and I know I would not want to be without my ring that long either but as we did have to check the ring in and then remake it, and ship it back to the store, that is why the timeframe was delayed. We would never intentionally hold back truth from customers and I feel awful that you think that we lied and cheated you, when in truth we simply put into motion the policy of returning and reordering a ring in the size that you needed. I think that I would blame this on miscommunication and I do hope that you can forgive us. I just want to reassure you if I can that we never hold back information on if rings need to be remade. It is simply something that happens often in cases of large sizing differences. Please contact us at your convenience as we would love to speak with you more. I understand where you are coming from and would
like to restore your faith in Diamond Nexus. Sincerely, Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus

My experience with Diamond Nexus was outstanding. I live in Australia and they are located in the US so I was worried the whole process would be difficult, but I emailed them about customising a ring for me and got a prompt response.
I was kept updated via regular emails and sent photos during the design process which made me very excited about receiving my ring. When it arrived, I couldn't have been happier. The quality is amazing, especially for the price I paid. I've had so many compliments and there's no way you would no they're not real diamonds unless you we're an expert. The quality of the simulated diamonds far outweighs that of a cubic zirconia.
I would happily recommend Diamond Nexus to anyone who is wanting to purchase any kind of jewellery, they're fantastic.

I was proposed to 2 weeks ago with a DN ring (Myra) and within 2 days I noticed a chip, loose stone, side panel of diamonds is missing gold to hold a diamond in and the metal material (white gold) is scratched easily. I only do paperwork and typing at work so I feel that quality of the ring is poor and it saddens me, we have contacted DN and were told that we would recieve a call back but no call has been issued. Very disturbing and we feel misled.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Hello, My name is Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus. I first would like to apologize for the issues that you have experienced with your new engagement ring. Certainly we understand the frustration and we want you to be assured that we make customer service at Diamond Nexus a top priority. I would like to offer you my personal email, jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com and if you can email me with your order information, I will make sure that the proper people get in touch with you and either repair or replace your ring for you. It sounds like there may be a defect in the ring itself, in which case a new ring would definitely be created for you. I look forward to assisting you and making sure that a beautiful new engagement ring that is perfect will be on your hand soon and ready for you to show off proudly! Sincerely, Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus

The initial ring I ordered (Cardiff) looked beautiful, but that is about the only positive thing I can say. It was supposed to come in cushion cut. However, somehow Diamond Nexus sent the ring with a round stone instead and because I am not a diamond expert I did not notice. I presented it to my girlfriend and she loved the ring however, I had selected the wrong ring size and also after seeing the size of the 1.67 carat stone on her tiny fingers we decided that a 1.28 would be a better fit, so we needed to send the ring back to be sized correctly and swap the stone.

When the ring came back it came back with the cushion cut that it should have had in the first place but the prongs when viewed from the top were substantially smaller (in the first ring when viewed from the top were very substantial and striking). My now fiancé had fallen in love with the original ring (other than the size issue and wanting a smaller stone) and was very distraught when the second ring came back looking different. She called Diamond Nexus customer service to ask about the different shaped stone and the person she talked to was very unfriendly and told her to email the jeweler and ask, which she did and never received a response to. This upset her greatly and disappointed me as it made me look bad that I got her ring from such a poorly organized company.

Also, when looking closely at the prongs of the second ring, they were each hitting the stone in a different location and one even had a niche carved out that looked like that was where the stone should sit, but it did not. The craftsman ship of the prongs, or maybe the setting of the stone, looked to be very poor.

My fiancé was very upset and in tears over the whole situation, which needless to say is the very opposite affect I wanted our engagement ring to have. I later called back and talked to another customer service representative who was much more helpful, he confirmed we could send the ring back to replace the cushion stone with a round one again for free which we did along with comments about how the stone was not set into the 4 prongs in a consistent manner.

One positive note: since we were sending the ring back we requested it also be sized to 1/8th size smaller in order to fit perfectly which the jewelers did accommodate, however, the ring stayed with Diamond Nexus longer than was originally quoted to me, which caused her to not have the ring when we flew to San Diego for the engagement party her family was throwing for us. Again, this caused more anguish over the whole ring situation.

Then to top it off, when we finally got the final ring back, while the stone was now round again and did appear to be set in the prongs more evenly when looking at it from the sides, when viewing the ring from the top the 4 prongs are different sizes and are not evenly placed around the stone. Also, in the first ring I presented the prongs opened up more around the stone like a flower, and in the now 3rd version of the ring, they appear to grip it more like a claw. Lastly, when running our fingers along the bottom of the ring, we can feel a change where the size has been adjusted. This has all triggered more tears in my fiancé and has frustrated me to no end.

I am very disappointed in the quality of craftsmanship in this ring and the jewelers of Diamond Nexus. I also don’t understand the quality controls that are in place that would have allowed a round stone to be sent out in the first place if the ring only comes with cushion. At a minimum when we sent it back the first time for a smaller stone, someone should have noticed it had a round and not a cushion and called us to confirm which stone we actually wanted. Not just received in a round and shipped out a cushion with no questions asked.

I would love to just return the ring completely, and put an end to dealing with all of this but my fiancé fell in love with the first ring I proposed to her with and wants to keep it.

So now we are torn on whether to send the ring back AGAIN in the hopes of getting the prongs straightened out from the top (which we are apprehensive about because there is a risk it will come back looking even more unlike the first ring I presented) or settling for a ring that looks like a cheap knock-off handcrafted in Mexico.

I would never recommend Diamond Nexus to a friend as in the end, my fiancé is still unhappy with her ring and not only that, in the 2 and a half months we have been engaged, she has only had a ring on her finger for a few weeks of it. And if we do choose to send it back, she will be without it even longer. Guys, beware. As you can see my overall experience with Diamond Nexus has been terrible and unacceptable for such an important life moment.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Dear Mark, Please let me introduce myself. My name is Jennifer London, and I am the Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus. I would first like to apologize for the issues that you both have had with your engagement ring. We want to let you know that we take our jewelry workmanship very seriously, using highly trained jewelers, making our settings by hand. Once finished, they go through a strict quality assurance as well. This process creates beautiful, heirloom quality jewelry, but because they are handmade there can be small prong variations that we do look for upon inspection. If we had missed this and sent you a ring that did not meet your satisfaction, we will be happy to have the ring sent back for repair with our jewelers. I would personally like to make sure that we document the repair and send you photos before the ring is sent back to you, to guarantee that you are both pleased with the repair. My email is jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com and I would be happy to work with you on making sure that your new engagement ring for your fiance is perfect. She deserves to have a beautiful engagement ring that she can proudly show off and we will definitely make that happen for you. If you can email me your order information, and possibly a photo of how the ring looks now, I will be more than happy to look into the order and do everything that I can to assist you. I understand that you are frustrated, but I am confident that we will correct the ring issue and get it back her hand quickly. Thank you for your patience and I look forward to speaking with you soon. Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator

Do NOT purchase from the Schaumburg location! This store has cost me time and $, and has offered no benefit to just purchasing online. Best thing to do is put what you want in your cart, wait 1-2 weeks until they email you with a 15% discount(which you receive in 5-10-15 increments as time passes...) and only visit for free cleanings and free water. Otherwise save from paying Schaumburg tax and buy online!!!
Otherwise the ring is beautiful and we love it!!!
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Dear Marcus, let me introduce myself. My name is Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus.I want to thank you for taking the time to post a review for us here and I want to apologize for your frustrations with paying a local sales tax at our Schaumburg retail location.

Unfortunately, the sales tax does have to be charged on instore purchases, as that is the law and all stores have to charge sales tax. The amount depends on what the states determine and not on what we want to charge. So the tax charged at our Milwaukee store would be a different amount than what you had to pay as each state is different. All customers living in Wisconsin and Illinois who order online will also have to pay sales tax as well. This is because of our locations in these states. If the proposed online tax bill gets passed, then all online customers living in every state will have to pay tax to not only us but to any company that they order from.

Though you had issues with the sales tax, I am however, very glad to hear that you are happy with your new jewelry though and if I can ever be of assistance, please feel free to contact me at anytime. My email address is jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com. Sincerely, Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus.

I have the Luna solitaire as my engagement ring and I also have the Honey earrings. I have not had any problems with my ring and it is BEAUTIFUL! My fiance got this ring for under $1000 and if we had gotten a mined diamond ring of the same size (1.5 carat) and excellent cut, clarity, and color; the ring would be at least $15,000 and as a budget conscious girl, I don't even plan on spending that on the whole wedding. The shipping was fast (I live in Japan and have everything shipped to FPO) and emails were received throughout the order and shipping process. I have picked out a DNL wedding band and a right hand ring as well. I would recommend them to anyone!
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Thank you so much for your purchase, Kathryn! We are so happy that you are pleased with our product and that you love the ring! Congratulations to you both on your new life together, and please let me know if there is ever anything I can assist you with! Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus.

I glanced through a few feedbacks left by other customers and it's sad to read the events they went through. However, my experience with the company went very smooth and the agent I worked with, Perry Weber was awesome! He responded to all my emails quickly, and answered all my questions thoroughly, which means a lot when in a deployed location. I was pleased with the ring when I saw it as was my fiancee. The ring made it overseas a week earlier than expected. My only concern is that is was not shipped verified mail as a customs form must be used on international mail, and the contents of the package were on the front label. My agent made my experience with Diamond Nexus pleasant, and I will do business with them in the future!

Do not buy from diamond nexus. The jewelry looks good int he beginning then starts to look like garbage after a few months. of course their money back promise is only good for 30 days. I wish I could get my money back for it. I kept the ring and got a new real diamond. Don't mess around with this terrible product. I am out of the money I paid for this gemstone which looks terrible and cant do anything about it. terrible. Just buy a real diamond
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:

THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!!

I am posting a review on this website because when I tried to write a review on the Diamond Nexus website itself, the company deleted it. Talk about SHADY BUSINESS!

I bought the gypsy ring for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day this year. She's very opposed to the whole blood diamond deal so this was the ideal company for me to find her a gift and later this year, an engagement ring. Or so I thought. The initial process was nice(but whose sale department isn't?!) and the ring arrived in a timely manner and elegantly presented. But after that it was all downhill.

FIRSTLY the ring was a half a size off. So we shipped it back and received an email saying that it had been received and had been resized and would be shipped back. The email was in the weirdest format and looked like it had been formatted by a toddler with a computer. So naturally from what I could gather, it had been sent. Two weeks pass by and no ring. I call Diamond Nexus. I was on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up and hung up. My girlfriend was impatient so I tried again a few days later. I finally got somebody on the phone and it turns out that my ring had NOT EVEN BEEN SHIPPED. Apparently I owed them 8 dollars for shipping. Seriously, if I owed them shipping they should have let me know. By this point it had been over a month past Valentine's Day. So after paying them the 8 dollars they sent me another email saying it would be shipped in 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS? Clearly they lied and it had not yet been resized as indicated in the previous email. After this whole nightmare the ring arrived in a box half wrapped, not in the original box that I had even sent back to them which BELONGED TO ME. And the ring didn't even match the original one. The LP stamp was no longer there but my girlfriend was so happy to finally have it that we let it slide.

Now onto the quality of the jewelry itself. This nightmare might have been forgivable had I satisfied my girlfriend with a nice gift that she can cherish. But the detailing was flawed. There was supposed to be some leaf detailing but it was uneven and had indents. The metal, Lorian Platinum which Diamond Nexus claims is a combination of silver, palladium and platinum was originally brighter than her Tiffany's ring. Now it is duller and in parts even tarnishing. The stones are cloudy and the middle stone is so loose it even rotates in its setting. It rattles when she moves her hand. We would send it back because they have a "policy" which deals with loose stones or cloudy stones but based on our previous experience with them you can see why I'm apprehensive about dealing with their company.

Worst part of this whole experience is this ring was just a test preview to the real deal. I'm going to propose this fall and she has been eyeing the Constance ring that the company makes. I've looked everywhere else for the setting but haven't found anything similar. I don't know what I'm going to do because I don't want to disappoint her but there is NO WAY I would give this company my business after the service I received. I'm not going to spend a thousand dollars plus on a ring that tarnishes and whose stone jiggles around in the setting.
Diamond Nexus responded with the following comments:
Dear Max, Let me introduce myself. My name is Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator for Diamond Nexus. First, I would like to apologize to you for the frustrations and hassles that you had experienced when ordering and sending a ring in for a repair with us. We do have a policy which states that customers pay for their shipping back after sizing has been done if they need a different size. Our jewelers email customers to let them know when rings are checked in and what costs are owed before items go into production. Since there was a charge for shipping that was due, the ring had not been put into production. I am concerned that we may have your email incorrectly saved in our order system and I would be more than happy to correct that if you can email me at jennifer.london@diamondnexus.com with your order information. As for the ring coming back to you looking differently, I am not sure as to why that would have happened. Our jewelers use the utmost care in making and repairing jewelry and all items go through a strict quality assurance before shipping back to customers. After repairs, we do not package rings as they are shipped initially, but if you had sent your cherrywood box to us, I would be happy to also resend it back to you as a customer courtesy. For ring repairs, we don't require the original packaging to be sent back, but only ask that rings are sent to us in a secure package that prevents the ring from getting damaged during shipment. Our lorian platinum collection of jewelry is guaranteed for life, but does require care when being worn, as any jewelry would be. It is best to remove any jewelry before washing hands, using soaps, cleansers etc. to keep the metal looking beautiful. Chemicals can damage metals, even gold, so it is always best to err on the side of caution and keep jewelry away from harsh chemicals. I completely understand that you are upset and had only wanted your girlfriend to have a lovely ring for Valentine's Day that she could wear proudly. I would like to speak with you at your convenience to see what we can do to help you both have exactly what you were looking for and receive the same great customer service and high quality jewelry that all of our customers get from Diamond Nexus. I can assure you that I will do everything within my power to see that you both come away satisfied. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Sincerely, Jennifer London, Social Media Coordinator, Diamond Nexus

Dont waste your time or money! We ordered our engagement ring because it was fairly well priced and looked good on the website ..OMG what a dissapointment! After two months the gold already began to wear and the stone started to scuff on the edges. I then started noticing just how cheaply make the ring was. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchsed and wore the ring. I ended up doing some reasearch and had to bite the bullet on another ring. We went with Quorri and so far we are extremely happy! much better quality and their DymondIX is coated so it will definitely last. As they say buyer beware. do your homework before buying anything!

I dont know how anyone could give them a bad review. I ordered a loose 2.5 carat stone and it is AMAZING! My GF and I can not stop looking at it. We have never seen such a beautiful stone. I actually ordered one from Asha too and they sent a very nice stone but the color was a little off (which some people might like). Also the customer service is great too! they always pick up and they are clear over the phone with any issues you may have. I will defiantly be buy more from them in the future.
