From the moment we walked on-site, I knew Deer Ridge was the place for our wedding celebration. The site was beatutiful and the owners very friendly and accomodating our requests. Deer Ridge works with a local Pleasanton restaurant for its special events catering. The food was out of this world. Our guests had a wonderful time and we're so glad that our event took place at Deer Ridge.

Three months to our wedding we decided to cancel with Garre Martinelli Center and book with Deer Ridge and Haps Catering instead (read my Martinelli Center review on projectwedding.com or yelp.com for details).
I gotta tell ya. The pics of this place do not do it justice. It's really lovely. Carl, the owner has just flat out been fabulous... he's one of the main reasons we booked with Deer Ridge and Dee at Haps has been was just great. Our guests has so many compliments about the location, and of course, we agreed.
As for Haps and the food. They offered us a customized tasting, which is not something that many of the vineyards out this way offer (Garre, Eliston, and Wente do not). We tasted everything we wanted to (except some passed apps, but that wasn't a big deal), including side dishes and their amazing crab cakes, and were able to make an informed decision for our wedding. Their prices are higher than Garre and Wente, but you get what you pay for.
The wine was great-- which was nice since we actually wanted nice wine (Garre does not have good wine). Our guests drank the equivalent of a bottle each, and are were telling us how wonderful it was all night long. We had 5 wines offered, tasting style. All were a hit!
The food from Haps at the reception was BETTER than at the tasting. And the service was top notch.
It was everything we hoped and more. Just wonderful. So happy we found this place.

Dee was fabulous to work with from Hap's Catering and the evening was better than I ever expected. The food was delicious, from the hor'derves right down to the finger desserts. I would highly reccomend an event at Deer Ridge Winery!

We were planning our wedding in less than five months which made finding a quality location that was still available a bit tricky. Once we found Deer Ridge, we shouldn't have looked any further. We visited other venues, but nothing compared to the location, setting and value that we found at Deer Ridge. The location is convenient and the setting absolutely gorgeous. What we can't believe is how inexpensive it was to hold our wedding there. For all that they provide, they could certainly charge a lot more!
The outdoor area where we held our ceremony can easily seat 100 people and has a fantastic backdrop of vineyards and hills. We held the cocktail hour in the barrel room which was nice and cool for our guests in addition to being really unique. We loved the reception room - it has a high ceiling, a classy hardwood floor and beautiful dark wood chairs with cushioned seats (none of those ugly banquet hall chairs with the floral print!). The decor in the room is simple which allowed our centerpieces, cake and red linens to really stand out. When I saw the room set up the day before the wedding I was simply amazed at how beautiful it was.
On the day of the wedding they had both the bridal area and groom's area cooled off before we arrived, and also provided water and wine for us to celebrate with. Because it was hot on the day of our wedding, they had guests congregate inside the winery until just before the ceremony was to begin. They also provided water for our guests during the ceremony which everyone really appreciated.
This venue is well designed for wheelchairs and strollers which was something that we found not to be the case in many other locations.
If you want a beautiful wedding without any headaches, we highly recommend booking Deer Ridge Vineyards!

Deer Ridge Vineyards was a beautiful location for my daughter’s wedding and the owners and staff really helped us make this day memorable. We used the lawn for the ceremony, the barrel room for appetizers and the banquet room for the reception and sit-down dinner.
Dee, from Hap’s Catering, focused on the type of atmosphere we wanted and helped us achieve it. Carl and Cherie, Deer Ridge owners, continuously added little touches that made the winery more beautiful. They’ve added plants, art work, and table decorations and even had telephone poles and wires removed to make the surrounding view perfect.
The food was spectacular and during the event, the staff handled all the catering details un-obtrusively.
Many of our guests commented that this was the best wedding they had ever attended. Much of the credit goes to Deer Ridge for all of their suggestions, help and the beautiful location.

We were honored to be Deer Ridge's first wedding! Carl and Cherie are like an extended mom and dad; they were so friendly and kind, and treated our guests and families as they would their own. The entire venue is absolutely beautiful. Our ceremony was in the warm, candlelit barrel room on a cold, foggy December evening. The reception was in the big room that was complete with grand piano, commercial kitchen for Haps catering (um, can you say "yum"?), a bar, and plenty of room for our 80 guests. Deer Ridge has now even added soundproofing in there for better acoustics. We had Deer Ridge wine exclusively- there are many varietals from which to choose, but you can't go wrong with any of them (I would like to recommend the '02 Cab, however!!!). I cannot recommend this venue- and its owners- highly enough. They are forever in our hearts.
