I first saw Dave when I attended a friend's wedding at Vintage Villas in Austin. Normally I wouldn't pay attention to small wedding details, but I was newly engaged, so I was checking out everything...from the linens, to the cake stand, to the event staff. During the ceremony, I paid close attention to the photographer. He wasn't standing in the middle of the aisle getting straight-on pictures of the bride and groom exchanging their vows...he was laying on the ground at the base of the steps getting a unique shot of the back of the bride's gown (but he was staying out of the way, ofcourse)...then he was back behind the gazebo taking a photo through a group of bushes and flowers to get a shot of the bride and groom's face (an angle that no one else could see)...then at the reception, he was standing on top of a chair getting an aerial shot of the bride and groom's first dance....and as the guys SLID IN to the reception hall (like they were sliding in to home plate) for the garter toss, Dave was laying on the ground right next to them taking the most hilarious action shots I've ever seen. I was impressed.....and that wasn't even my wedding.
I immediately asked my friend who her photographer was and I looked him up after her wedding. I had interviewed other photographers but I wasn't impressed with their "normal portfolios". I didn't want my wedding pictures to look like everyone elses. Dave and I met at a coffeeshop and we talked about my style and my expectations, and I didn't even feel like I had to continue talking...he finished my sentances with my exact thoughts, and from then on, my wedding photography was one less thing to worry about. We kept in contact up until the wedding day. He showed up on time (I think he was even early) and immediately began taking pictures.
When we returned from our honeymoon, he had posted a majority of the pictures online for me to see....they were edited, and BEAUTIFUL! He had also made a slideshow and put it to music and he sent me the link so I could share it with my family. A few days later, he had them ALL edited and online for me to see....and then a few short days later, a disk arrived in my mailbox with all of the edited photos. I am so happy with the photos and with the job he did. I will recommend him to anyone and everyone!

Dave is absolutely amazing! Not only is his photography wonderful, his personality makes him a pleasure to work with. His assistant and he were both professional and personable. He made sure to capture every moment with perfect clarity and realism. Dave was extremely flexible and worked hard to give us exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He even came out to the wedding rehearsal to see the sites; he was instrumental in pointing out a photography flaw in our backup plan and we were able to fix it. I think that hiring Dave was the smartest thing we did for our wedding. You get WAY more then you pay for. He was part of what made our wedding perfect...and unforgettable, his photography captured the happiest day of our lives flawlessly.

Dave was impressively discreet during our wedding ceremony; I was also quite surprised to see how many angles he actually got while we were being married! My wife and I were very happy with Dave's work and would recommend him to others.

Dave Mclaughlin photographed our wedding in September of 2009, and my husband and I could not be happier with his work! Not only did Dave do an incredible job of capturing the beauty and excitement of our wedding, but he was very reliable, easy to get a hold of, and very flexible. We received digital copies of our images well within 2 weeks after our wedding, and he even created a fantastic slideshow with music that we could share with our friends just a few days after the wedding. Plus, Dave even brought Starbucks coffee to me and my wedding party on our wedding day - it doesn't get better than that! :-) Dave provides high-quality work for a reasonable price, and I recommend him to anyone in the Austin area!

Dave was so great! I loved having him at our wedding. He was fun and friendly and blended in well, even in the bride's getting ready room. He took SO many pictures and the colors all really popped. Everyone has been surprised by how good the pictures are, since they didn't really even know they were being taken. My husband told me the other night that Dave's photos were worth every penny which is amazing since it took me about to months to finally convince him that we needed a professional. He wanted just get a friend to do it! Gah!
Dave even made a really cool slideshow of our pics. He had all that and our pics posted before we got back from our one week honeymoon!
I think I lucked out and got a better deal than with most photographers.

I would describe Dave as an exceptional photographer. From the moment I called him he was friendly, easy to work with and professional. He was even kind enough to give us the prices from last year because I contacted him early enough, even though his prices had since increased. On the day of the ceremony Dave arrived early and was also very kind; however, none of this other information really matters if the pictures aren't professionally done. Dave exceeded our expectations, taking right around 2000 photos for a 7 hour session from the ceremony to the reception. He did not stop working the entire time, except when he kindly asked if he could have some food. I simply expected him to grab some, but asking shows that he had the expectation to work the entire time. The photos we recieved were exceptional, and my fiancee has dozens of favorites. She is unable to choose a single "favorite" because there are so many good ones. We are also photographers on the side, and we know what good work looks like; Dave's work is not just good, it is outstanding. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting professional photos, with a kind hearted and hard working photographer. In addition, his prices are the most reasonable we have found in the area.

Dave was really great to work with. He understood the style of pictures that we wanted and didn't pressure us into anything that didn't fit our needs. The pictures came out awesome; we gotten so many compliments and many people have said that they are the most beautiful wedding pictures they've ever seen. We also got our pictures back from him incredibly quick, within two weeks of the wedding day.

Dave was amazing! He was the first photographer we interviewed, and after an hour with him we decided not to interview anyone else. He truly went "above and beyond" on the wedding day. He captured the entire event, he seemed to be everywhere at once and didn't miss a single minute of the day. He made us feel very comfortable during the formal shots, and he was very relaxed the whole day. Friends commented on how great Dave was, they appreciated his easy going attitude and humor. In fact, Dave was so involved and so fun, lots of people asked whether he was a family friend and commented how amazing he was! The pictures were online about a week after the wedding and the proof book came within a week or two of the wedding, which was fantastic. We got an amazing value for a low price, very well worth it.

I honestly can not say enough good things about Dave. After interviewing many photographers I instantly knew Dave would be perfect for our wedding. My fiance was/deployed and Dave instantly began to talk with me and assist me with anything wedding-advice related. He always responded to my emails quickly. He was also very flexible by even agreeing to do a wedding that all depended on whether or not the groom was even home! My bridal portraits turned out amazing due to Dave's great ideas. He made me feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Our wedding pictures turned out amazing and he had those to us very quickly! He was also just fun and lightened the mood on the stressful wedding day. After the wedding Dave even took a few "engagement" photos of my husband and I because my husband had been gone for most of the engagement and could not be there to do the usual prewedding photos. Dave is a great photographer-flexible, funny and most important he actually cares about his clients and their special day. You could not ask for a better photographer and we will definitely be using him for future special occasions and I will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a wedding photographer!

Dave is great. He is extremely friendly, and makes you feel comfortable right away. I feel like that is really important because not everyone feels comfortable with getting their picture taken. At the actual reception he kept things moving so we could get all the pictures in while we still had enough light. when it came to putting the album together, he made that process easy by offering his ideas upfront. And then he let me change the album so that it was exactly what I wanted. The pictures were AWESOME

It seems a rarity that one finds someone in the wedding industry that is flexible, calm, and professional at the same time, and this is totally DCM Photography. Seriously, some of the nicest people on the planet, and knowing that the most important thing at our wedding was the memories we would take from it, we only saw one option...hire the best photographer, and with Dave and his crew we got so much more than we expected. They really went above and beyond and it is a comfort to know that when we look back on that day we have brilliant photos that re-tell the story of our wedding to us. Thanks Dave, and to anyone reading this, you should have already called them by know, seriously stop reading and get Dave on your wedding.

Dave was awesome- I can't say enough good things about him and the service he provided. So many people commented on what an excellent job he did. My favorite part is that Dave provides a gorgeous photography book, as well as copies for my husband's parents and mine. He is so professional and yet very relaxed, which made the wedding day run smoothly. I highly recommend Dave- you will not be disappointed. I definitely plan to ask for Dave's help again in the future and will refer him to any friends and family needing professional photos taken.
