So.. after being on the web for a while and listening to everyone's recs on photographers I was at a loss.. I could not find a photog who could work with my budget... I contacted several photogs who had been reccomended within the price range I asked and none of them seemed to be able to work with my budget.. Soo after several suggestions from others.. I turned to Craigslist.. I know it seems like you would find something crazy on there.. but I didn't.. I was EXTREMELY lucky.. After searching Craigslist for a few days... I contacted several photographers.. many of them had sites that I was able to look at and I unfortunately found some of their work lacking.. I stumbled upon a ad for Devynn (of which I later found out she only ever actualy posted a small amount of... so it was fate!) I took a look at her website and liked the pictures... I also asked my fellow knotties if anyone had heard of her and no one responded... I was a little curious so I emailed her. She quickly replied and asked to meet me in person. I was very hesitant to do this.. I hadnt met with any photographer and very few vendors in person yet because I was so afraid that no one could work with my budget. I chatted with her on the phone and discovered that she had relocated to FL from Canada and moved her entire business due to her husbands work re-location. This made me extremely nervous and quite honestly.. I did not think I was going to book her. It was not until I finally agreed to meet her in person that I fell in love with her and her work. It was like chatting with a long lost friend whom I hadnt seen in forever. I felt extremely at ease with her and this was extremely important to me. My DH does not like having his picture taken and I explained to her that he was going to be difficult to work with. I also explained to her that half of my family does photography as hobbies and some looking to break into the business.. I knew that I would need someone who could make sure everyone was focused on her and not the other cameras... She was so reassuring and was willing to work with my budget as well as the ability to make payments to her for her work. Not only did she work with me financially, but she included SOO much in my package.. She included Engagement pics, Budoir pics, Bridal Shower, and the wedding. I couldnt pass this up. At that point I was debating the idea of using another photographer whom I had worked with in the past but for the same price only was giving me the coverage the day of the wedding. After I booked Devynn, we set an appt for my Engagement Pics. DH and I met her at John Prince Park in the middle of summer sweating beyond belief andbegan our first shoot with her. She was able to keep DH's attention and focus admirably.. I was confident she was able to capture shots I had only hoped for. She was able to get him to smile, to interact and really go along with everything.. for that I am forever greatful because he really hates having his picture taken! After seeing the results of our E-pics I knew this was going to be a great vendor. I immediately raved about her to everyone on the knot and began responding to inquiries from other brides on budgets like mine.. I worked with her again for my Bridal Shower.. I wanted to have someone there to take photos so that no one else really had to worry about taking pictures, she was able to do just that. She captured emotions, moments, and details that I never thought we would see again.. After some consideration, I also decided to do Boudoir pics as well... I am a larger girl so fo course I wwas a bit nervous about the whole thing but she quickly put myself and a friend of mine who did them as well at ease. In the end, I could barely recognize myself in some of the photos.. I never thought of myself in that way and quite honestly she was able to capture things about myself that I never thought I would see.. It was definitely a realization point for myself as to truly thinking that I was beautiful, regardless of my size. Even my husband was thrilled with his album and was 'expressive' lol about the pictures.. (he is not one to comment on things unless he feels strongly about something) Prior to the wedding, I spoke with Devynn endless times just for banter, sometime for details, and sometimes for advice... IT was like having a friend the whole way.. I spoke to her one evening about possibly setting up a photobooth.. I have all of the equiptment minus the backgrounds and I was contimplating doing this. Devynn and I came to an agreement on price and added it to my package. She supplied everything including the person to take the photos .. The day of the wedding, not only was the photobooth a hit, but Devynn herself. Everyone thought she was fantastic... You didnt even realize she was there... In the end my photos are amazing... I have to say that She was by far the best money I spent on my entire wedding.. Not the dress, the rings, the food.. nothing beat the value I recieved from her and her work.. I am forever grateful to her for her willingness to help a Budget Bride..

She is an amazing photographer. My husband and I had a Trash the Dress shoot with her. It was so much fun and the images were amazing.

I come from your Typical Cuban family that everyone’s engagement pics are on the beach or in Viscaya and im tired of everyone doing the same thing. So instead of going to that same old photographer in Hialeah that does terrible work I really did a lot of research. So I contact Devynn and she was a sweetheart!!!!!!!!! I was still a little nervous to sign and my hubbie had just lost his job so I was even more nervous that we had to sign a contract without knowing if he was going to get another job. Thank god that everything work out and I called her and told her email me everything. Meanwhile I have never met her in person, but just had this feeling about her that she was truly an honest and caring person and not to say her work is AMAZING!!!!!!! We signed up for her package that includes everything, and could not be happier. I wish I can take more pics just for the hell of it. My hubbie is NOT a photo genic person and if you met him for the first time you would tell me that he is rude, but he is like that until he gets to know you. Well, for our Epics he felt so comfy with her that he even started giving crazy ideas and was really into the shoot (this is worth a million dollars!!). The day of the wedding devynn and her Asst came to the hotel and started to work right away, they are a great time, and you do not feel like you are being followed, they are amazing to work with. She came in and started taking pics of the rings, dress, and the girls with make up everything!! She follows up great and she really listens to all of my crazy ideas. I do not know how many late night emails with sample photos I sent her and she actually remembered all of them!!! LOL. I really can not say how grateful I am to find a great photographer that I will for sure use in the future. If anyone is debating her work or her, I HIGHLY recommend using her. And she really works with your budget. Photography was the one thing that I splurged on and decided to cut back on up-lighting and other things that were minimal, in reality this is the only thing that we keep for our selves.
