They have tons of great dresses and wonderful value. The one in orland park, they are rude and not helpful but the one in oak lawn, IL are great and the sweetest. The great thing is that when you buy your dress there, you get the flower girls and bridal party dresses at a discount and they give you a book of savings on a bunch of stuff. Great place and helps you save a little

Most brides know by now that Davids Bridal caters to the mass market. Their selection and prices are great. I was aware of this so I prepared to mitigate any hiccups. I made an appointment to come during the week when it was less busy. They had other brides there, but not as busy as during the weekends. Overall, my experience was to be expected for given their low prices.

Not only did we purchase my dress and accessories here, but my 2 bridesmaids, my flower girl and my mother all got their dresses and accessories here. We all had amazing experiences. Everyone was always helpful and made sure we were taken care of. So much so that our flowergirl dress ended up having to be hunted down, and shipped to Illinois from Florida because it was the LAST of it's kind in the entire organization.
Everyone couldn't get over how gorgeous my dress was, along with my bridesmaids and flowergirl and my mother. It was just perfect and I can't stop looking at pictures and I cant get over how beautiful everything turned out!

The woman who greeted me at the door appeared very inconvenienced by me popping in to browse dresses. Most of us women are only married once & don't know that an appointment is preferred. Once I was actually in the store the sales staff was very nice & accommodating. I ended up purchasing a $750 dress on the spot. I loved my dress but will still not forget how unwelcome I felt in that store.

Although a franchise they were great-- good thing bc we were going to go to House of brides -- but had terrible service so we went across the street to David's bridal. My only negative feedback which was quickly corrrected was with regards to alterations -- make sure you try on your dress and bring the heals you will be wearing -- I did and realized that they had never altered the hem of my dress -- so the poor seamstress sat on the floor while I had the dress on until it was perfect... so just makes sure your alterations are done.... Also my dress came in sooner than expected -- which was a big plus!!! All my BM got their dresses from here and we went with the watermelon color which mens wearhouse also has... so it all matched PERFECT!

The only reason I ended up at David's Bridal during my wedding gown search was that White by Vera Wang collection was launched there. I went in the store knowing exactly what I wanted and less than an hour later I purchased the gown. It was shipped to the store within just two weeks. The sales girl that helped me was neither professional nor knowledgable.

I loved my dress, but if they sold it anywhere else, I would have purchased it elsewhere. You get what you'd expect at David's Bridal. It is not a boutique. I waited 20 minutes for my consultant. I picked out all my own dresses to try on in that time. She didn't do very much. The alterations were not very good. They took my dress out in the bust and then it was too big, and my bustle kept coming undone.

All I have to say is...dress selection is great there. There are a bunch of dresses and styles to choose from at reasonable prices. However, please find another place to get your dress altered. The alterations department is not so hot these days. Not to mention on top of not being great it is really expensive as well.
On my first fitting, a month prior I was called to ask to change my appointment time up to a half hour earlier then it was scheduled. No problem...go there with my dress, a consultant says to put my slip, shoes and bra on and someone will be right with me. Well, guess what...who ever called me to change my appointment never told anyone to be there and I sat for over 45 minutes (past my original appointment time) until they called someone on. The lady doing my dress repeatedly apologized while she fixed my dress. On my second fitting...they dress was too loose on top so they immediately measure me, because apparently its my fault, once the manager looks and sees they screwed up she tells me to wait and takes my dress in so much that I can't breathe and broke the hook in the process. I was told by some older woman to relax its just a hook. My quick appointment turned into a two hour fiasco, with unapologetic people on the other end. I won't even go into the issues a couple of my bridesmaids went through with their dresses there. Needles to say... would I buy a dress from David's bridal again the answer would be yes! I just will never ever have anything altered there again. I feel like still no one really apologized for all of this garbage and I think its because they just don't care. Pretty sad.

The only thing David's Bridal has going for them is their prices! You cannot beat the prices. The look of their shop is not the nicest, the one-on-one service is not good at all. The place is a complete madhouse! They try to pack in as many brides and bridesmaids at one time and you are all trying to fight over using a mirror. You get limited time to try on dresses and the person helping you is also helping other brides at the same time. Once i had a dress on I knew pretty quickly whether i liked it or not, however the lady helping me was gone and i had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for her to come back and help get the dress off me and to put the next one on. i was at the end of my time limit and sad to not have had any luck when the lady brought out a dress to try on that i didnt pick out myself. She said that after seeing all the dresses that i didnt like she got a feel for what i might like. I tried on the dress reluctantly but ended up loving it! So i was so happy that she came through for me. However it really took a long time. i dont feel it was her fault, i feel that David's Bridal purposely creates this kind of atmosphere.

They took my dress in way too much, but quickly fixed it on the spot, so that it fit me perfectly. My dress was beautiful, but DB is a mass merchandise retailer, so don't expect to get exceptional one on one service.

I got my dress from the $100 gown sale and didn't need any alterations. I think it was a manager that was assisting me on that day, she was great with showing me different veils, jewelry and so on. After I bought my dress I noticed there was a small spot on my dress and I took it back in and they had it fixed in about 5 min. After the wedding I took it in to have it preserved and they were very generous and have me a really good break on the price. This place was really great when I bought my dress, when I went back to purchase the bra they weren't as wonderful. This place was far better than Rockford though!!

This is THE WORST David's Bridal I've ever set foot in, and hope to never set foot in again.
2 of my bridesmaids live out of town, one teaches overseas in American schools and is periodically back in Chicago for summer breaks. So I had to stagger my bridesmaid dress shopping. I went with my bridesmaid who teaches overseas before she left, and before I shopped with my other bridesmaids. We were getting ideas, and from the moment we said that, our sales associate was "done" with us. She would disappear, and angrily walk to our room (upon request only) to rush-deliver dresses. She was extremely condescending to my bridesmaid. We complained and had a new associate assigned. Later that day, I called and complained to customer service. That same bridesmaid was back in town during Thanksgiving, after my other bridesmaids bought their dresses. When she's in town, she lives in Schaumburg, so we went there again for convenience's sake. I called ahead, SPECIFICALLY asking for a different associate than the one we had. Sure enough, who is assigned to us when we arrive? The same witch. It's bad enough that 6 months later, she's still working there, but that she's assigned to us after I specifically asked her not to be. The fact that we were BUYING a dress that day did not make her less rude. The next day, I again called and complained to customer service. This time, I asked for some retribution. "All together, my bridesmaids spend about $500 on your company. What can YOU do to make sure I give you more business?" I asked for a gift card to buy jewelry or bags, or a discount on what my girls spent. Nothing. I'm not dissing David's as a company, just the Schaumburg location. STAY AWAY.
