This review is for the Grossmont location, it wasn't an option on the list.
I am giving all 5 stars because I LOVED my bridal consultant, Ayda! She was perfect in every way. I ordered my first dress, and when I decided to change it she was more than happy to make different arrangements. She helped me with my bridesmaids dresses, jewelry, and shoes. She helped me with my dress, veil, shoes, headpiece, sash, and jewelry! I would have not been this satisfied if it was with anyone else. She has such a great personality and knows what she's talking about. There's this one manager (not mentioning names) who seemed to be the only person available to help me on the days when Ayda wasn't there. She was HORRIBLE!!! She had an attitude EVERY time. Very snobby. She messed up every order I placed with her! I had 3 items on layaway and decided (within the 10 day time frame) that I no longer wanted two of those three items. She told me I couldn't keep the one item on layaway because it had to be a minimum of $100. She was also going to charge me a fee for cancelling my layaway items until I pointed out that I was within my 10 days, the store manager then corrected her! I had just spend my paycheck on my dress, so I couldn't afford to purchase it. It was released from layaway. I go for my final fitting with the lady in alterations and start talking with Ayda only to find out that the minimum amount for layaway was $75, my headpiece was $80. I was furious because even if they ordered it for me that very second, it was questionable whether I would get it in time for my wedding or not. Luckily I got it just in time. The same manager also messed up my shoe order, and I wasn't going to get those in time either. Thank goodness Ayda found a way around it for me and I was able to have my dream heels for my wedding. Those are just 2 examples of how the manager screwed up, there are 3 more. How she became a manager is beyond me! To add all that extra worry on a bride who's stressed out enough is messed up. If you can't comprehend your stores policies or precedures, don't work there! I understand that people have bad days, but this was happening every time within a three month period. It was to the point where the store manager would tell her not to approach or talk to me whenever I went in! I would call in and if Ayda wasn't there, I wasn't going. I would recommend Ayda to anybody!!!

I went to the location in North County San Diego (Vista/Oceanside). The first time I went I wasn't greeted and so was wandering around the store looking for someone for about 10 mintues - plus, I was double booked with another bride, barely seeing the woman who was helping me, so I was just standing there for long periods of time waiting for someone to zip me up... Then, she kept telling me (although I brought in a book with pictures, many of which were David's Bridal dresses) that she had no idea what I wanted and I was so hard and I'm more couture (they sell Vera Wang for goodness sake!). Anyway, needless to say that wasn't a productive trip. I went in again just a few weeks before my wedding, without an appointment, in desperate need of a dress for my destination beach wedding. The girl was nice and let me look through things and helped me when I needed it. That was nice. The first thing I tried on was great, (I went straight to the sales racks) - it was marked off like 50% off like 5 times and came down to $50! It was a beautiful dress, flowing, unique. I just have to say, this is a chain, so don't expect much. (SELF SERVICE!)

I got a great deal on my dress. But, their alterations costs are ridiculous! And, I had to pay for a dress bag to take my dress home in even though it was pouring rain. Then, when I took my dress in to be steamed, they said it had already been steamed and were going to charge me $40.

Davids Bridal La Mesa (Grossmont) was a horrible experience. Its all about the sales person...ours was horrible. I did find the dress I loved and our bridesmaid dresses we loved but go to the Mission Valley Store, not Grossmont! the alterations dept. at Grossmont was fine just not the sales person. The coordinating colors at Men's Warehouse was great too...no guessing on the colors, they are already matched.

My review may be based on some bad choices on my part. I choose my bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal and ordered them based on the online photos. I had actually stopped by a store and looked at the dresses before. They turned out to be the wrong shade of blue, but I had ordered it based on the online photos, so it was mostly my fault. I had the tuxes color coordinated at the Men's Warehouse, which was awesome to find out I could do. But, it was the Men's Warehouse that told me that secondly. So, it turned out to be beautiful anything and everything matched. The color was close enough to what I had wanted. I got dresses with the new balloon style hem at the bottom and I highly discourage this. It sort of looked like bloomers or arabian style pants. They still looked beautiful, though. Oh, and when I first showed up to the store, the salesclerk said that they didn't have my order and I almost panicked before it tool them a half hour to figure out that they had miss spelled my name.

Please be aware that if you intend to have your dress altered somewhere else (friend who is a seamstress...) you cannot have your dress pressed at David's Bridal at all. I learned the hard way when I relied on the information given to me by one of their sales reps. After trying on my dress and picking it up from this store with my mom and mom-in-law, the rep said that I can bring my dress in anytime and they would press it while I wait. "Cool", I thought. I will just bring it in before leaving for my destination wedding. Well, the big day was less than a week away and I go back to DB to have my dress pressed. First, one of the girls there (I say girls because professionalism hasn't been defined to them yet) said I have to fill out a form, drop off my dress and pick it up in about a week. I told her that I need it before I leave in a few days. Then she asked if I had it altered there or somewhere else. Honestly, my friend just trimmed the mesh part of my dress in the front. The girl said, "we actually can't press it if you had it altered somewhere else". I continued to say that somebody from DB told me I could just bring it in. The girl said, "who told you that?" And there, at that moment, I knew they weren't going to help me. After patronizing this place that set me back over $1000.00, they acted as if I was not a customer. I felt disgusted. Obviously they have no idea what brides go through days before their weddings. Instead of helping, they added to my stress. Even my mother-in-law heard that I can just bring in my dress. Luckily, my husband and I had registered for a garment steamer and received that days before the wedding. So, we packed that up on our trip and I pressed my dress and everything worked out; no thanks to DB. To all planning your weddings and trying to make everything perfect, make sure you get all the facts straight and takes some names. Make sure everyone who works in a shop are on the same page or else you'll get the, "Who told you that?" comment.

Everything went well except when I got the dress altered. I left the dress almost three weeks before they set up the pick up date. A day before I was supposed to pick it up, the alteration manager called me and said that the bolero was not ready and told me that I could get it in three days. I told her no because it would mean the day before the wedding. Well, on the day I got my dress, I found out that they never altered the side and that they did not alter the length correctly. They told me that they would fix it and asked me to come back later that day! It was awful!

I definitely feel like David's Bridal has some of the better deals for brides on a budget when it comes to wedding dresses. They have good prices and a good variety of different dresses for any bride. My only gripe is that it feels a little impersonal there because so many people go here to try on dresses. The person assigned to me was helpful and courteous, letting me try on dresses at my own pace even though I had about 10 to try on. He also helped me imagine what the big picture would look like by creating different bustles for the dresses and letting me try on accessories like hair pieces and veils. Overall, my experience was a good one. I did end up buying one of the first dresses I laid my eyes on there because it fit me in all the right places.

The staff at David's Bridal in Grossmont were wonderful. It is unfortunate that the same can not be said for the David's Bridal in Mission Valley. The staff in Grossmont were able to get me the dress that I wanted in a matter of days unlike the Mission Valley store staff that told me it would take weeks to get. The Grossmont staff made it possible with a simple click of the mouse. Now that's great customer service. All in all I was able to obtain the dress I wanted which made my day even that more special.

I bought my wedding gown online. It was gorgeous and very similar to the pictures they posted. But I did go to David's bridal for trying on sizes before purchasing. They were friendly and nice!

Fortunately my dress was beautiful and a reasonable price, but I must say that DB is the fast food of bridal salon's. I would not recommend it to anyone that is not in a hurry to get her dress. If you have a year to plan, TAKE YOUR TIME and try on as many dresses and go to as many salons as possible. The dress is one of the most important decisions you will make in the wedding planning. The sales reps are friendly but they are coached to push sales straight off the rack at full price even if the dress has been tried on over and over again and stretched out. They sell the sample dresses at the full price so you might as well request to order a brand new one (that has never been worn) because it will be the same exact price. Customer service is poor and they lack experience - some of them are as young as high school students.

Response time is poor. When I came to pick up my dress, I wasn't even in their system. BAD! They claim to have some sort of discount with mens warehouse if you buy the bridal dress at DB, but when I went to Men's Warehouse they told me that they have no affiliation with - which resulting in me not getting a discount. Get this, a month later after I picked up my dress I get a call from them saying that my dress was ready to be picked up (my dress was already hanging on the back of my door at HOME).

I was concerned abuot the price of a dress so we went in to check out the $99 sale at David's Bridal. First, the consultant told me that I was a size larger than I am, and argued when I corrected him. After asking me waht I was looking for and me telling him, "no sequins, no ruffels, no glitter, no bunches, no gathers, just plain satin with a mermaid bottom and a sash to match my bridesmaids dresses," he brough me a flashy ballroom style gown to try on. No big deal, he's a man, what does he know, right? So after going through a couple hundred dresses and choosing a couple to try on, I was convinced that I would be going over my budget. Then I saw the clearance section! I found the EXACT dress I wanted, and it only needed minor alterations. All in all, it was just over $200, out the door! The consultant could have paid better attention to what I was telling him I wanted, other than that, I wouldn't change a thing about my experiance!

Where do I start... Thank god the rest of the venders were great! The only thing good about my service was the price! But like my mother always said you get what you pay for! The service was horriable, I had one person in my wedding party who was a little heavy set and they went out of their way to "NOT" help her as well as the skinner girls. They ordered the wrong color bridesmaid dress for one of my girls, and then told me there was nothing they could do execpt offer that I change the color of the wedding or fit that color in. So i had to make do with one dress of an odd color. (yea)... They also told me they would call me when all the dresses came in but insted the called all the bridemaids and told them they had 3 days to pick them up! I found this very rude!. To say the least I wouldnt ever use davids bridal again or suggest them to anyone!

My dress was beautiful and the cost was extremely reasonable but the customer service is mediocre at best. The alterations department was the most helpful and easy to work with. The sales team definitely doesn't make an effort to make your experience special but I guess that's the downside to paying less for the dress. I did love my dress though!

This david's bridal is fantastic!! I went to another location prior to this one and it was awful! This vist made up for the terrible service at the first location! The employees were so helpful! Made it a very special occasion, (as it should be). Made me feel so great and helped me find the dress of my dreams and a perfect veil to match!! I would highly recommend this davids bridal to any friend or family member!
