I am seeing all of these good reviews for David’s Bridal on here, and I am perplexed. Perhaps my standards are high, but I don’t think so. I had an awful experience at David’s bridal. I went in to set up and appointment and look at the dress selection ahead of time. The salesperson gave me a bag of coupons and catalogues. She was very friendly and helpful. She took all of my information and gave me a pad of paper to write down any style numbers of dresses I would like to try on at my appointment. I spent an hour looking and writing. Then I gave her the list, which she assured me they would have at my appointment, and we set up the appointment. I had a good feeling about it because she was very helpful, and gave great customer service.
The appointment itself was a whole different story. I brought my mother and two best friends. We had to wait 20+ minutes to get checked in because there were so many appointments all at the same time. A different consultant (if that’s what you want to call her) was “helping” us. First of all, she was not very professional or friendly. When she showed us our dressing room, my friend tried to pull over another chair, but our consultant told her only one chair per room. What?! Maybe they should schedule fewer appointments at one time, and provide seating for the people who come! On top of that, the consultant did not have my list and didn’t even want to look for it! She said she wouldn’t even know where to start looking for it. She didn’t even have access to the list I made on the website. I thought they would have my dresses already pulled and in a room, but not even close. I was able to pull up my favorites list on their computer. The girl printed out a page that had 3 things out of 10 on it. She told us to go look around and see what I wanted to try on. I thought she was going to look for the things on my list, but I don’t think she did anything. We picked out some dresses and I started trying them on. The consultant wasn’t even there most of the time to help. My friends zipped me and pinned the dresses to fit. When we finished with the dresses we picked out, the consultant said they didn’t have any of the dresses from my online list. She seemed incompetent, lazy, and worthless. We were dissatisfied with the selection, too. I will NEVER be going to David’s for anything ever again! I left wondering why I needed an appointment for that.

First and foremost, I loved my dress! LOVED! Unique and beautiful. I bought my dress at the West Des Moines store which was a fabulous experience. It was my experience at the Cedar Rapids store that fell short. Everyone but the alterations lady seems out of it and nonchalant and kind of rude. My alterations lady was great though!

Consultants very helpful and knowledgeable. Enjoyed picking out my dress. During the alterations very attentive to ensure I was happy with all the dress changes. Prices are affordable especially with their payment options available so that every bride can get the dress of their dreams.

I found my dress on the first visit. The fisrts rep i had was very rude and i felt like i was being forced to do things i did not want, so the second time i went in i had a different person and she did everything she could to make me happy. the alterations department was very sufficient and professional. My dress was perfect, i did have problems with 2 of the 6 bridesmaid dresses, but they fixed them!

My wedding was supposed to be in October but as the months went on me and my husband decided to mover the dae up to July. Now as you caan imagine things were very hectic in that month. I hadn't had time to get my dress fitted and the wedding was a month away. I was panicked but when I went to David's Bridal I didn't feel like I was panicked. They were calm and they fitted my dress beautifully. It only took them three weeks!!! (my dress was a really poofy ballroom gown with a train!) I thought it was going to take longer but they called me and told me I could come pick it up! I was so excited and everyone I encountered was sweet and very supportive!

I had all of my bridesmaids get their dresses from this David's Bridal and other David's Bridals around the country. I had two of my bridesmaids going to college out of state, so this really helped to get everyone matching dresses. The out-of-state David's Bridals were extremely helpful. Because I was paying for all of the dresses and the alterations for the out-of-state girls, I had to speak over the phone with these two other David's Bridal store employees to talk prices and time frames. One site didn't have the size in for one of my girls, but was able to ship from another close by store in order to save some time.

Everyone was very friendly and seemed almost as excited as me!

As an added bonus, we were able to book our honeymoon through a partner company of David's Bridal. Because we had spent a certain amount with David's Bridal, we got our entire honeymoon trip half off!

This shop was very rude to me. When I went to pick up my dress from alterations (I had an appt. after work & the alterations almost more than the dress), there was a flaw I wanted fixed. While the seamstress fixed it, I waited with my family. The store was about to close and we had been waiting for over 45 mins. for the dress. Finally two mins. after they shut the doors, the younger consultant said "oh Sarah you're dress has been ready for a while, she couldn't find you". This was not right because I was standing right in front of the door where the seamstress was. I was clearly visible. The younger girl also was rude to my mother because we were told that my veil would be steam pressed before I take it home, which was great. This younger girl said it wasn't needed and I would have to come back two weeks before the wedding to have it steamed and that no one would steam it before I take it home. The seamstress was nice and did steam it for me. Overall not everyone at the shop is rude. Kim is awesome, the woman who helped me tray on about 10 dresses! It was the younger girls who were a bit rude and not very professional. They also kept mixing up my name with my maid of honor. They kept saying Renee (my maid of honor) was the bride and I was the maid of honor. That was annoying and made me feel like all they wanted was to make a quick sale and not even pay attention to important details like who is the bride and MOH.

I chose David's Bridal because I was buying my dress 1,000 miles away from my wedding location, so I wanted the assurance of, if there was a mistake, being able to go into a David's Bridal at the location and not have to deal with a hassle. That said, the staff of David's is overly attentive (to the point of being very annoying) and they also put a lot of pressure on you to buy a dress. They are very pushy, calling you frequently to see if you are going to buy the dress. If possible, do not buy your veil or tiara (if you choose to have one) there as a veil there will cost at least 100 dollars. Their dress prices are reasonable. Both myself and my maid of honor bought our dresses there.
Make sure to schedule alterations early.

I purchased my flower girl's dress and my bridesmaids dresses at Davids Bridal. I felt that the prices were resonable for the most part. However, I had some problems with one of my bridesmaids dresses as far as the alterations were concerned. It never really fit her as well as my girl or I would have liked.
