The alterations were horrible-I paid a lot of money, and basically it was as if the dress had never been altered. The woman in alterations pressured me, kept saying it looked great, it was just the way I was looking at it. After calling to complain the manager said that I could bring the dress back in, but I didn't want to drive another hour round trip, and I told that I honestly didn't feel like they'd do a good job-even if I did bring it back. (Was nice of her to offer though.) So I paid to have someone else alter it all over again. There went $150 down the drain.
I think they also have a poor selection of dresses for girls who need larger sizes. (I wear a regular 16.) There are very few dresses in that size to try on in the store, but they're willing to order one for you, and you wont be able to return it afterwards-you can only be issued a store credit. (Even tho' you have NO idea what the dress will actually look like on.) The person who measured me also oversized me quite a bit, but the manager was nice enough to let me exchange my undergarments since they were hanging off of me.
This is like the WalMart of Bridal Stores-I truly regret not having gone somewhere else.

Davids Bridal was the absolute worst thing to ever happen to brides. They were really good when I went in to look for my wedding gown. However, I could not find one I wanted to purchase at their store, and bought mine elsewhere. While I was looking though, I did see several bridesmaid dresses I wanted my girls to try out, so I decided to take them there to look. I had 7 bridesmaids, and we all showed up at Davids Bridal, excited and anxious for them to find the dress they would wear in my wedding. I had made an appointment (as I was instructed to do) before we came, and we showed up right on time. We were forced to wait for 30 minutes, as other brides who DID NOT have appointments came in and were helped before us. We did not let this hamper us, however, and began to look at dresses without an associate to help us. As it turns out, we found the perfect dress which complimented each of them, and cost for dress was an amazing deal! They all tried the dress on, and ordered it that same day. The associate who took our order said she would call when the dresses came in. Since most of the girls are from out of town, I told them I would pick up the dresses. I never heard back from the associate, and when I called to check about the dresses, the person told me they had been there for two weeks! So I went to pick up the dresses, and when I walked in, I was asked if I was a bride looking to buy a gown. I told them no, I was there to pick up my bridesmaid dresses, and was AGAIN forced to wait while other brides walked in and were helped before me. I finally got very aggitated and asked to speak with a manager. She fetched the dresses for me, and upon closer inspection, I found one was missing. They forgot to order it with the other dresses. She fixed it though, and ordered the dress right then. When I got home, I realized they had forgotten to give me one pair of shoes. I called the store to make sure the shoes were indeed AT the store before driving all that way, and was put on hold immediately. After 7 minutes of waiting, I hung up and called back- to be put on hold AGAIN. I waited again about 5 minutes, and a young man answered. I told him my problem, and asked him to check to see if the shoes were in. He put me back on hold. After a few minutes he comes back and asks me for the name of the shoes- I don't know the name of the shoes, so I tell him my name and tell him its for my wedding, after all, the order should be in the computer, right? Wrong. After about 30 minutes of trying to figure out if the shoes are in fact at the store, I gave up and just drove back to the store with another pair of the shoes to show them. They had forgotten to order the shoes as well. While there, I spotted a guestbook and garter set that i LOVED, and picked it up to purchase it. I went to the register, where there were 3 employees. One was on the phone, one was reading a People magazine, and one was dusting the counters. None of them made a move to check me out. I asked politely if I could please buy these items. The one dusting looked at me and said "Uh, yeah someone will be with you in a moment." She carried on dusting, the other carried on with her magazine, and the other talked on the phone. The one finally got done dusting and just walked outside to take a smoke break. The others still paid me no attention whatsoever. I got fed up and left the items on the counter and walked out. On another occassion, one of my flower girls had also purchased her dress from Davids Bridal. When the other flower girl went to get hers to match, the store informed her that the dress had been recalled due to lead in the dress, and they could not sell her the dress! I informed the first flower girl (her mother) of this stunning discovery, and she promptly took the dress back to return and exchange it for a different style. They would not take the dress back! They told her that since she had bought it, they would not take it back- EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RECALLED DUE TO LEAD!!! They sold it to her knowingly, and refused to take it back or even exchange it for one that cost exactly the same amount as the first. On yet another occassion (sucker for punishment) we tried ordering our invitations from Davids Bridal Online. We found the most beautiful set that color coordinated exactly. Upon calling the helpline, we were informed that the invitations would be on our doorstep within 1 week of placing the order. So, we ordered. Nine days later, we had not so much as received the proof that I was supposed to approve before the printing took place. We called, and were told that they emailed me the proof a week ago. I never got it. I told her to email it to me again. She said they couldn't until the next day. Finally I get the proof, approve it, and am told the printing will take place. I ask again how long it will be before I receive the invitations, am THIS TIME told it will be a minimum of 4 weeks!!! FOUR WEEKS!!!! After a very long, very heated discussion, I canceled the order. I will NEVER again do business with Davids Bridal, and do NOT recommend them to ANYONE at all. I don't think any bride should have to go through the headache of dealing with them. Yes, they are a good deal for your money, but NO, the cost is not worth the aggrevation, time, and stress that you have to go through to use them.

Everyone was helpful however a few of the consultants didnt care about what you wanted... it was like they were on comission and they had to sell a certain amount so they tried to talk you out of what you wanted for more expensive items

I had to get my dress of the rack because we eloped and decided to have a ceremony two months later, so i didnt have enough time to get a dress anywhere else. david's bridal had a beautiful dress, but i needed a size zero, and the smallest they had was a four, so i got it and just had them alter it. They altered it to short (by about 2 or 3 inches) so i had to buy new shoes, which they did not refund, and it wasnt altered small enoughin the waist. I would recommend getting someone else to alter your dress if you choose to buy at david's bridal.

I loved my dress! Service at the store left much to be desired. On more than one occasion I dealt with very rude and unhelpful salespeople. For best results go on a weekday and make an appointment.

I purchased my wedding dress at Davids bridal. I was so excited to be shopping for my wedding dress! When I arrived the staff was somewhat friendly but I got the feeling they wanted me to hurry up. My sales person did not spend a lot of time with me. Once myself and my bridesmaid had picked my dress we had to search the store from front to back to find the woman sales person. I had tried on some different head peices but had not chosen one and told my salesperson I would come back for that and the jewelery. I went and purchased my dress and went to the car, only to look at my receipt and a 150.00 dollar head piece was on it. I talked to the people at the desk and they told me all sales are final. I talked with the manager and she told me the same thing all sales are final. When I brought my dress in a week before the wedding for my final fitting and my steaming they didnt even have me try it on. They took it and said it would be ready in a few days. When I arrived to pick it up, it was not ready and they had not even started steaming it. I told them that this was the only day I had to pick it up. she told me to wait and she would steam really quick. I left the store with a wet dress and wet veil. I was horrified at the service they provided. The only reason I bought my dress with them is because there are no other places around my area. I not not recommend them to anyone. They are rude and unprofessional. The girls behind the counter were to busy talking to listen to my concerns, and when I tried to tell them things about my dress they seemed rude, and they did not care.

I was not happy with them at all. I have a lot of friends who have used them and they did not meet what I was looking for. My dress was in but my bidesmaids dresses were not. We ordered thier dresses in Feb and they told us that it would be in by 3-4 weeks and that they would call us. Also that if we did not come to pick it up with in 10 days they would send it back. So I called up there at the end of March because no one got a phone call and they were in and getting ready to get shipped back. NO ONE CALLED ME AT ALL. The lady on the phone acted like it was all my fault. When we went up there to pick up the dress the manager would not even come out to say anything to us. I would not recomend this store.

This is not a good store to work with in comparison with other stores, not helpful, not worth the "value" for lack of quality in service. They screwed up my order several times and I almost did not get my bridesmaid dresses in time when I was told I had plenty of time.

Going to David's Bridal for a wedding dress is like dealing with a used car salesman (no offense). The only day that someone was responsive was the day that I tried on lots of dresses and I feel that is only because they make commission off the dress. After I chose my dress it was all downhill. The service was terrible after that and the only professional person was the alterations lady. The cashiers were terriable. They were not very flexible about alterations and when they could be done and when you could pick the dress up. I would reccomend taking it somewhere else to get it altered. The only reason why I even brought a dress from DB is because I could not fit into my sister's dress, which is what I really wanted to wear, and I had to pay for this one myself. The material is kinda cheap but the price is lower so I guess you get what you pay for. Everything is a-la-cart so be careful. It might be better to go to a local shop where they don't nickel and dime you.

The dress I ended up getting from David's bridal was wonderful, though I had some issues getting to it. First, the dress was discontinued without any warning or knowledge, and though I was in contact with the store on a regular basis regarding this dress style I didn't find out until I walked back into the store ready to order the dress. At that point there was only one dress left and it just happened to be in my size. I didn't want to wear a dress that someone had been trying on in the store on my wedding day, but with such a limited budget, I knew I wouldn't be able to afford cleaning it. The dress was inspected and spot cleaned which was all they could offer me, and fortunately the dress looked like new. The visits were very long, as it seemed there were not enough customer service persons to attend to the customers, I often had to wait very long periods of time regardless of whether or not I made and appointment.

I found the perfect veil to match my Christina Wu gown. If you have a small wedding party, I would suggests hunting through their clearance racks. I found great dresses for my girls for $59.99 each! The dresses were originally $180.
