Considering what great feedback David Blair Designs had online, I was shocked at how poor my experience was with him. I'm guessing it doesn't help that most of these reviews are horribly dated. Perhaps he's unable to keep up with the business right now or just really doesn't care about customer satisfaction so much as getting his money.

To try to sum up a very long, and frustrating experience:

A friend had referred me to David Blair for my wedding. She had used him for her wedding. My initial consultation went smoothly, and we discussed in great detail my vision for our floral centerpieces. He later e-mailed me a quote with all those details in writing. It all looked great and I was so excited to see the final product on my wedding day!

The week of the wedding was very stressful, because I had the most difficult time getting in contact with David to discuss the payment arrangements. I excused it since it was a December wedding, and I figured the approaching holidays had everybody caught up.

When the wedding day came, I was a bit disappointed to see he didn't include one of the details he promised to on my bridal bouquet. When the reception came, my attendants were frantically searching for the "toss bouquet" that was to be included. We were on the phone with him during the reception to find out where it was. He swore it was placed on the cake table, but even hotel staffers confirmed it was never seen. He promised to refund me for that. I ended up having to throw my Maid of Honor's bouquet, which I wasn't happy about; I knew she wanted to keep it. I was also upset to see the centerpieces were missing one of the fine details I was very excited to see--crystal prisms that were to be incorporated in the arrangement. I felt that was what was going to make the centerpieces stand out and be something other than just flowers stuck in a vase. When I brought that to his attention after the reception, he response was, "Oh. Sh**. I'll refund you for that, too."

In the end, after several contacts with him post-wedding, and multiple requests from him for my address, he never, ever sent the refund to me. His business phone number suddenly was disconnected, and he deliberately ignored all messages from me via e-mail, Facebook, and even a snail-mail letter sent to his business address.

I find that kind of business ethic to be appalling and unacceptable.

He also promised my friend who referred him a referral bonus, which he never gave her. He's not very good at keeping his word, and if you find the details of your floral pieces to be important, he's not very helpful for that, either.

Bottom line: doesn't hold true to his word, doesn't pay attention to the details that HE wrote up himself, and really doesn't seem to care if you're happy with his work or not. As long as he gets his check, that's all that seems to matter.

David Blair Designs is the way to go. I've known people who spent 2-3 times as much on wedding flowers and they weren't half as nice as what he did for us. From the moment I made the appointment to meet him to after the wedding, he was professional, creative, punctual and a great trouble-shooter. He made us a beautiful chuppah in a challenging space and we got compliment after compliment on it. He was absolutely a delight to work with. Highly recommended!

Most florists can create a flower arrangement. David Blair can create magic. Of all my vendors (and I loved them all), David Blair Designs and David's flowers were THE most AMAZING. David's artistic eye, extensive knowledge of flowers, commitment to excellence, attention to detail and creative suggestions make him a vital collaborative partner. David helps transform your personal vision into reality! A real professional, David is also very easy to work with--flexible and filled with the most fantastic ideas. When I saw my flowers on my wedding day, I was excited beyond words. David could not have captured my vision more perfectly. From the colors used to the black & white polk-a-dot ribbon & feathers in the arrangements... EVERYTHING was perfect. The value that David offers also amazed me. He was able to work within my tight budget, and the result was more than I would have expected from even one of those "couture", overpriced florists. I am so pleased and cannot recommend David Blair Designs highly enough. I am SO glad I found him and selected him as my florist. Our guests, many of whom work in the home decor and design fields, have all told us that our flowers were the most beautiful arrangements they have ever seen at a wedding (or anywhere for that matter!) Without a doubt, David Blair's work played a major role in creating the wedding of our dreams. David Blair Designs is worth every petal and every penny!

David is extremely talented, communicative and reliable. He listens to what you want, but he also includes his fantastic, artistic flair.

We made it somewhat difficult for our florist as no cut flowers could be in the arrangements. David made the most beautiful orchid plant arrangements that anyone ever saw! Everyone at the wedding was absolutely blown away. The actual ceremony
did have some cut flowers and the altar was actually round, in the middle of a round
room. It was awesome!

His prices were almost 1/2 of other florists and he couldn't have been warmer or more interested in our event. As David was recommended, although we hadn't seen his work, we were totally thrilled with our decision to hire him. Since the wedding, we have had him do arrangements for parties and had his flowers sent to friends and associates and he even did the flowers for a VIP funeral.
