Daniel was great throughout the whole planning process and the day of our wedding. He was so easy to work with and gave great advise. Several bridal party members and guests have been bragging about what an awesome photographer we had. The package we got offers a lot at a reasonable price. I havent seen all the wedding pictures yet but im sure they will be great. Based on the engagement picture we got from Daniel and the slide show of some of the wedding pictures he sent us, I have no doubt that they will be great. I would highly recommend using Daniel for your special day.

Daniel is a dream.
My fiancee, now husband, and I are not "camera people". Despite our usual outgoing personas, the camera brings out the worst in us. We clam up, become uncomfortable - anything and everything you dont want photographed and preserved for posterity.
Daniel brought out the absolute best in us. He made us feel at ease. He had all these little tricks and ways to make us forget he was there. All the while, he is snapping, snapping, snapping. Daniel captured our story. And more importantly, captured us in a way that was real.
We used Daniel initially for an engagement photo session, but were so pleased with the product we received, we also hired him to photograph the wedding. I recently saw the proofs of the wedding day, and Daniel, once again, hit the mark. He was fantastic... and the pictures prove it time and time again...

Daniel is an amazing photographer with an unbelievable talent to capture photographs that tell a story. This is something every Bride wants to see when they receive their wedding photos. With so much going on it is hard to remember everything that happened on your special day especially things that you may not have even seen. The photos capture feeling and emotions which allow you to relive the moment all over. Daniel also makes the best out of what some Brides may say is the worst situation? rain! It rained on our wedding day, but Daniel has a way about him that kept everyone calm and laughing; some of my favorite photos are the impromptu shots in the Bridal Suite with our wedding party. Needless to say, my husband and I were very pleased with our photos and Daniel?s work. He photographed both our engagement session and wedding and captured memories that will last a lifetime.

I couldn't be happier with our wedding photos. The wedding seems like it was much longer ago than just a month, but I can't help but smile when I look at our pictures. They just put me in a good mood. Working with Daniel was as simple as pie; he is as talented as the pictures are beautiful, if not more. He knew how to make everyone relax, the angles to use to get some incredibly unique shots, and how to capture the feeling of that day. We had a great time during our engagement session, which really allowed us to get to know Daniel, and enjoyed having him as part of our wedding day. I can't wait to work with him to make our album that we'll cherish for forever. Thanks for everything Daniel...from your ability to tell a story through our pictures to the double-sided tape for the bridesmaids' dresses! Our pictures are stunning, and we have you to thank. Oh my gosh, Daniel's pictures are AMAZING to say the least!! I LOVE .. LOVE... LOVE my wedding pictures! I can't stop looking at them! He captured our wedding day so beautifully! His pictures really show our personalities and how much fun we had at the wedding!
Daniel was great to work with. He was very responsive to emails and was on-time the day of the wedding. He was professional and knew just what shots he wanted to take, so it seemed almost effortless on his part. He also seemed to know how to get the best shot from everyone and was able to keep my crazy fine in line. My wedding party seemed very comfortable with Daniel, which helped in getting some great shots from them. At one point, Daniel put the camera down and helped bustle my dress for me!!
Daniel was so unintrusive that I barely knew he was there at the reception, but yet he was there taking pictures of everyone/everything. He definitely got all of the shots/pictures that I wanted. Daniel was even cognizant of the sun setting and asked my groom and I to come outside to take a few more pictures. I am sooo glad that he did because they turned out to be some of the most amazing pictures with the sun setting and the moon rising in the background!
I am so thankful that I chose Daniel for our special day! I will definitely use him for all future occasions. In fact, I'm ready to do it all over again just so he can take more great pictures of us! THANK YOU DANIEL for EVERYTHING!

My daughter and her fiance selected Daniel McGarrity Photography as their choice as they met Daniel at her fiance's best friend's wedding. The couple photo taken at that wedding was used to make a stamp and used on their wedding invitations. Let me tell you, everyone commented that the couple photo was a beautiful photo of the couple. As mother of the bride, they made an excellent choice in selecting Daniel. I couldn't have been happier. As mother's we want the best for our daughter's weddings and Daniel is the best. Aside from his great sense of humor to lighten up the situation and make every feel as ease, he is extremely professional. He captured unique and interesting photos of the wedding couple, guests at the reception, intricate details on the wedding dress, unique photos of the rings, flowers, etc. that were absolutely beautiful and amazing. He truly is talented. The wedding photo link and the slideshow were received within a week. After looking at the pictures, it is amazing how he captured the wedding with so many shots that I think back and I didn't even realize he was there. I'd highly recommend him for his exceptionable abilities and his responsiveness to emails.

Daniel was fantastic! Both my husband and I are the kind of people that normally hide from photographers (e.g., my mom). By the time we were through our engagement photo session with Daniel we were 100 percent comfortable in front of the camera. Daniel got great shots of us. The poses were natural, not forced, and the pictures turned out great!
We absolutely can't imagine our wedding without Daniel. In fact, we may not have had one! Daniel became our on-the-spot wedding planner, helping everyone get in their proper place for the ceremony. He kept me cool and calm when the make-up artist showed up late, throwing off the photo schedule. And when my dress got splattered with mud, he was on hand with a tide pen.
During and after the wedding our friends and family who dealt with Daniel had absolutely positive things to say: he was quick, efficient, unobtrusive, and interesting.
We can't wait to see our final pictures. We're sure they'll be great!
Amended: We got our final pictures. They are fantastic!!!! We absolutely, 100%, recommend Daniel.

Working with Daniel was a dream come true. He was able to capture the true magic of our special day. We used Daniel for both our wedding and engagement photos. He was so easy to work with. He was willing to travel to the Campus of Howard University to take engagement photos and also to the Georgetown waterfront. Our engagement photos were so beautiful. I don't like traditional every picture looks the same as every other wedding or engagement picture you have seen. He is a true artist and his style of photography is great. Everyone is still commenting on how beautiful our engagement pictures came out. I was able to use them for our guestbook and our wedding website. Daniel's turn around is amazing. We were able to get our engagement pictures both color and black and whites of every picture in a few days. Within a week of our wedding we had our very own wedding slideshow to send out to our family and friends. The slideshow is set to music and is just amazing. Our pictures were so BEAUTIFUL. They captured our dream wedding. I am very hard to please and Daniel made me very happy. He was always early, returns phone calls and emails asap. I loved working with him. I have recommended him to family and friends. He has a one of a kind photo album. I will use him in the future for other photo needs. THANKS DANIEL, I LOVED WORKING WITH YOU!!!!!! OUR PICTURES WERE PERFECT.

After our first meeting with Daniel, we knew we wanted him as our photographer. Not only was his work portfolio impressive, my husband and I really enjoyed his personality which was very important to us in choosing a photographer. I'm pretty camera shy and knew that I needed someone I would feel comfortable with, and Daniel's fun and laid-back manner was just what I needed. However when it came down to discussing the details of our wedding, he was very professional and helpful in providing advice in terms of thinking about shots we wanted for our wedding. He is very thorough and, from the outset, he laid out what his expectations of us were and vice versa. He even provides a "homework" sheet to complete prior to the wedding that may seem cumbersome in the midst of wedding planning, but TRUST ME, you'll thank him afterwards!
In addition to taking our wedding photos, we also had our engagement session with him--which happened to fall on the day of the biggest snowfall of the season. Yet he was a trooper and withstood the cold and snow to capture some breathtaking shots of us in the snow!
During the months leading up to the wedding, there were lots of emails that were exchanged. His response times to questions and concerns were fantastic...usually responding in a couple of hours! And on the day of the wedding, he arrived on time and started to capture the essence of the day. As a bride who was a bit stressed, Daniel was a great calming force. Even at the reception, we could tell that our guests really took a liking to him and felt comfortable with him.
We just got our slideshow and pictures from Daniel (only a month after our wedding). The slideshow is fantastic...he even set it to the music of our first dance song! My husband and I have been reliving the wedding through the pictures Daniel took and enjoying every shot. As we've been looking at the pictures, we know why we hardly noticed him at the wedding... he was busy taking some great shots of our guests! We're so thankful to have these shots. We would, without any hesitation, recommend Daniel to anyone who is looking for a photographer for their wedding!

I met Daniel at the Bridal Showcase in Rockville, MD along with at least 30 other photographers. At the end of the bridal showcase, the only photographer that left a strong enough impression for me to remember was Daniel McGarrity. His personality, flexibility and knowledge of our cultural traditions made him stand out from the rest. During our engagement photo session, he worked around our dog's fear of strangers and came up with some really get photo ideas. On the day of, he came at least an hour early to capture the pre- getting ready moments (ie - my best friend and me getting emotional over fond memories). When it came time to the reception, Daniel did an amazing job photographing all the fun that our 500 guests were having. His attention to the detail is very apparent in viewing the proofs. Unfortunately, we've been too busy to put together the photos we want in our album, but Daniel sends me a friendly reminder every so often that he's ready whenever we are. Based on his samples we saw before we hired him, I'm sure I'll be pleased with the final product.

I highly recommend Daniel. He is efficient, prompt, thorough, and brings a lot of energy to the job. During our initial planning meeting with him, he qave as a detailed overview of his services and what to expect, bringing a lot of experience and real-word know-how to the table. He was accurate and honest. On the day of the wedding, Daniel truly went the extra mile. While we were getting ready, the groom cut himself shaving and stained his tuxedo shirt collar. Daniel came to the rescue with bleach stick in hand to make sure my husband looked perfect! Later, he really knew exactly how to make all of my guests and attendants feel comfortable and brought out the very best in their pictures. We also appreciated his advice, suggesting that the two of us take a "photo walk" together during the cocktail hour. Those pictures are among our favorites from the wedding and we owe it all to him. After the wedding, Daniel processed our images in a timely fashion, and even put our pictures in a slideshow with music from our wedding. I've heard from others that getting the pictures back can take months on end, and this wasn't the case at all with Daniel. Overall, if you want energetic, professional service, and excellent elegant photos to remember this most important day, Daniel McGarrity is a great choice!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful Daniel McGarrity is as a photographer! My new hubby and I decided to have a very intimate wedding in Washington, DC on December 27, 2008. Living in Seattle and waiting until the last minute to do things, [like I normally do :-)] I scheduled some time to meet with him only a few days before the ceremony. He was very accommodating and shared his thoughts on what would make our special day even more so.
One of the reasons why I selected Daniel was due to his online portfolio. He is able to capture those exceptional moments, small details and the overall atmosphere, a skill many of the other photographers I researched in the DC area lacked. And surprisingly, he was the most reasonable cost wise out of the entire list of photographers that I looked at.
And although we had a very small gathering, he treated our ceremony with the same importance and care as he would have a large wedding/reception event. I so appreciate the time he took to ensure our wedding photos perfectly reflected what I was looking for.
The entire wedding party raved about his ability to connect with everyone and direct them on how to take the fantastic photos we desired. Not only did they mention him at our after-wedding dinner, but at the post-wedding brunch the following day. Although we had others that were a part of our ceremony, his name was the one that was continually mentioned.
And the photos were not only wonderful and created a lot of tears as we viewed them, but he even ensured I had the DVD in hand before I flew back to Seattle a few days after our ceremony.
I definitely look forward to working with him again on family events upon our pending move back to the DC area.

Daniel photographed our wedding in November 2008. He is exactly what we wanted and needed in a photographer. He isn't just someone who photographs beautifully; it's as if he thinks in pictures. Our pictures captured moments that only someone with an eye like his could have anticipated and caught on film. He understands what looks beautiful and why and how to create the right light or angle or shadow. Not only were we beyond thrilled with our pictures, but the service Daniel provided. He was unobtrusive and thoughtful, he was a source of stress relief for me (the bride) and he knew how to answer every doubting and neurotic question I threw at him. He captured the vibe of our wedding, without missing a shot, or compromising our own ability to have a good time. He was amazing and a joy to work with.

Daniel was above and beyond what we expected in a photographer. He helped coordinate our larege wedding party. He kept us moving in a timely manner. But best of all our photos are amazing! I have never looked so good! The lighting he captured and expressions and it all came so naturally. I would highly reccomend Daniel to anyone without hesiatation. He was so professional but kept us comfortable and casual. He was amazing, I couldn't say enough good things!
