I can't say enough wonderful things about Nicole! From start to finish she was just incredible. We live in VA, so we planned long distance. I interviewed photographers over the phone, which is much more difficult than doing it in person. When we decided to hire Nicole, she said that she was actually going to be on vacation in Washington DC (where I work) the following week, so we arranged to meet for coffee and get together in person to sign the contract and pay the deposit. She was on vacation with her husband (who is also a sweetheart by the way) and she most definitely did not have to take time out of her vacation to meet with me. But she did, and did so with a smile. We spent a good amount of time talking about the wedding and details too.
Next came our engagement session. Though we live in VA and were getting married in NY, we wanted to do our engagement session in PA where we met and where I went to college. She was more than willing to travel (I think it was about a 2 hour trip for her) and only charged $75 for the travel. I expected her to take about 2 hours with us, so imagine my surprise when she spent FOUR hours doing our engagement shoot! And she didn't charge anything extra for her additional time. She took over 700 photos of the engagement and they came out absolutely incredible! Not only did she put up a facebook teaser of about 40 photos three days later, but we had our DVD of all the amazing images within a week!!! I was absolutely floored by her level of service.
The wedding day was no different. She arrived on time with her assistant (who ended up being her husband John. It was nice to see him again and they worked well as a team. They were all business and unless I told people that they were married, no one would have known. I appreciated that level of commitment to the job!) At the wedding she was unobtrusive, I barely even noticed her! And yet, the shots she took were breathtaking. The posed family and bridal party photos went well and were over quickly enough that we were able to join our cocktail hour, which was something I requested. She captured our dances perfectly and just completely captured the sheer joy and overwhelming love of the day. We got married in September, a busy wedding season for most vendors in this area. Keep in mind too that hurricane Irene had caused a ruckus not too long before - which left her without power and out of commission for a while. Even with her being "behind" due to all of this, we had our DVD with all 1080 of our incredible photos just over a month after the wedding. (Of course, waiting for wedding photos feels like an eternity, but a month really isn't long at all in the scheme of things.)
All in all, Nicole was absolutely phenomenal and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer. No one tells you how much photography costs and I will admit I was shocked at prices at first - not only for Nicole, but for the others we looked at as well. Her prices fell pretty much smack-dab in the middle of the range we found, but the quality of her work and the professionalism of her services makes her priceless. She was the best money we spent on our wedding, hands down. Thank you so much Nicole!!!!!

Nicole's work is absolutely amazing! She has an amazing eye and tremendous talent. We are blown away by how beautiful our engagement and wedding pictures are. From the moment we met, Nicole was very easy to work with. She was always available via phone and email and was quick to answer any questions that we had. She always gave her input and opinion in a professional manner. It can be difficult to act natural while having someone you don't know very well take pictures of you, but Nicole made this very easy during our engagement shoot, and for our wedding we were very comfortable. Prior to signing a contract with Nicole, we did a lot of research, as photography was of utmost importance to us. Many photographers in the Hudson Valley are very overpriced, but we felt that Nicole was affordable, especially for the quality of her work. Her turnaround time for proofs is very fast. I believe we had our engagement pictures one week after we took them, and we had our wedding photos when we returned home from our honeymoon two weeks later.
We are so glad a friend recommended her to us!

We used Custom by Nicole for our Photo Booth! It was the BEST $$$ EVER spent! Our guests had a blast using the photo booth and I have all of the photo strips to prove it! Very professional and FUN!!!!!

I don't even know how to begin to describe how happy we are with the photgraphy services we received from Custom by Nicole. She did not just show up on our wedding day and take pictures. She called me well before the wedding and discussed exactly what we wanted. She was very prepared and professional when she got to the venue. She somehow took almost a thousand pictures and I never felt like she was in my face or dragging us around to take pictures. I was recently in a wedding, and I saw a complete difference in the way that photographer was compared with Nicole. She is very creative and artistic and took absolutely beautiful shots, all done in somewhat of a hurry (becuase we started our ceremony late...). The cost was more than reasonable. You will not find a better price. We had all the pictures on disc and proofs in an album when we got back from our honeymoon. All pictures were excellent quality. We had the album less than 2 weeks from when we confirmed all the pictures. The album is beautiful and we have the disc so that we can print anything we want from anywhere we choose. She responds to emails very quickly and was a pleasure to work with. She also brought an assistant who was awesome. Aside from being a wonderful photographer, working very quickly, and having great prices, she is very pleasant and easy to work with. If I ever need a photgrapher again, I would definitely call Nicole and I would recommend her to anyone. I love my album and all our pictures and can't stop looking at them!

You won't find a finer, more talented, or professional photographer. Nicole has the unique ability to capture real emotion in her photographs, she is a true artist. Our wedding day, as yours will be, was filled with the love, joy and support of our family and friends and that shines through in each and every photograph. We have loved every moment of working with her and recommend her to anyone. Your photographer is the most important investment you as a bride must make (aside from the groom!) and Nicole was the single best decision we made!

After much research we selected Nicole because of her personality, her portfolio, and the great packages all at reasonable prices. We kept in touch right up to the day of the wedding. She showed up at our location, was a pleasure to work with (especially considering we had a very large bridal party) and took great shots. Somehow she was able to get pictures of everything, not just the main events but the side conversations/happenings as well. She did this all while flying under the radar.

The pictures were ready after a few weeks and the album was complete shortly after giving her our list of photos. The pictures are fantastic. I have received so many compliments on how beautiful and artistic they are. I also heard several times that some of the pictures could be in a magazine.

She is also a graphic designer and the layout of our album was extra special because she has the talent to blend pictures together and put special touches on individual images. I believe that is a great asset as a wedding photographer, instead of just having all the pictures lined up in the book.

Working with Nicole was an absolute pleasure! Her willingness to please us was amazing. Nicole captured every detail of our special day beautifully without us or our guests feeling like there was a camera in our face all day. I can't say enough about Nicole's photography. Our wedding picture's came out beautifully. My friends and family keep telling me they look like something out of vogue! Her style is what I was drawn to. I can't stand those stand there and look at the camera, now smile shots. With Nicole as the photographer ever picture is a piece of art. Also, she was able to photograph our autistic son perfectly (this is sometimes difficult to hold his attention). Her detail shots are very artistic. The candids came out beautifully too.

During the wedding she was very unobtrusive and professional. As soon as she arrived at the hotel she was taking shots.

I didn't have to pick a package either. She was able to do what I asked for at a very reasonable price. The finished product was delievered within a few weeks!

Nicole is absolutely amazing!! I honestly can't say that enough. She is so very easy to work with and she gets it. She really gets a feel for how you would like to be portrayed through your photos that will last a lifetime. Weddings are not cheap and your special day goes by in the blink of an eye. Nicole is able to capture breath-taking moments that you can reflect back on for a lifetime to come. My husband and I love her artisitc approach and she takes her time with each photo she has a true talent. We are addicted to Nicole. She has done two sets of engagment photos with us. One might I add she was able to work with our 175lb Saint Bernard. Many of our guests have asked us who did our photography and many are eager to work with her. Nicole also gets your photos back to you in a timely fashion. We are looking forward to working with her on our upcoming pregnancy shoot and when our little boy arrives this April she will be doing the newborn photos.

Nicole was wonderful to work with from beginning to end. Because I was planning my wedding from another state, I had to do a lot of communication on the phone and internet. Nicole was so quick to respond and immediately made me feel comfortable choosing her as our photographer. Nicole and her assistant were extremely professional and truly captured every aspect of our wedding without disrupting it like most photographers do. We have more wedding shots in various locations than anyone else I know and they are truly awesome. I liked that I was able to get my proofs in such a short time frame and the rights to my pictures without having to pay a separate fee. We just received our albums and they are absolutely beautiful!
