Melissa is an absolute joy to be around and before I knew she was in the buisness I was always so delighted to be around her!! When she found out that I was engaged she was able to refer me to an amazing graphic designer that I adored! I was extremely impressed with her & Melissa, because they both new how to exactly cater to their client. I cannot thank them enough for their amazing creativity, support, and stability throughout the entire process!! Thank you so much for making our wedding day such a memorable event! :)

Melissa Martija of Chris Owen Events, LLC coordinated our wedding back in May 2006. Everything went smoothly -- if anything went wrong, I didn't notice because she made sure I was enjoying my day... Melissa did everything from making sure the bridesmaids and myself walked down the aisle at the right time, to making sure everything was set up at the ceremony location. I didn't stress over any little details knowing that she would take care of them. I highly recommend Chris Owen Events... very professional and "behind the scenes".

Melissa Martija, of Chris Owen Events, LLC., was our wedding coordinator for our June 2008 wedding. Melissa made our day everything we had imagined with her knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail. Prior to the wedding date, Melissa would send e-mail reminders to help us along with the planning process. I learned from her that it is vital to keep up with the wedding “To Do List” in order to ease the stress of your wedding day. Melissa was a part of our wedding rehearsal, and did a wonderful job of directing a wedding party of 14. The day of the wedding I was 100% relaxed because I knew that the details of the day were being handled by not only a professional, but someone I trusted to make the day perfect. My guests had an amazing time, and my husband and I were able to take in every special moment of the day thanks to Melissa and her dedication. From the moment I got engaged, I knew I’d plan my own wedding. I am a sucker for details – and maybe even a bit of a control freak – and I just didn’t feel comfortable letting someone else plan how the day would evolve. As our wedding day got closer, though, I quickly realized I would not be able to make sure my plan was getting carried out. Not only that, but if I tried, I’d miss out on all the fun events that only happen on your wedding day. With this realization came the panic of finding someone to trust who could make all the wedding day plan I had done a reality.

I never thought anyone paid as much attention to detail as I do until I met Melissa at Chris Owen Events. I knew I had met the person I could trust our wedding day with when she arrived at our first meeting with a more extensive checklist than I had after several months of planning. She thought of details I never could have imagined and would have kicked myself on the day of our wedding when I realized it. The best part was that she didn’t try to push her opinion on me and she always asked what I thought. She was patient and open to my (sometimes) unusual ideas, and she was clearly as excited for our wedding as we were. At the end of the day I wanted someone I could trust and had faith in, and that is what I found.

Melissa went above and beyond making sure she covered all bases prior to our wedding day. Since I had most of the details already covered, I simply had to brief her on everything so she was prepared. At one point, we walked into the reception room, and she had more of a vision than I did! She even asked me at what angle I wanted the centerpieces! She truly wanted to make sure she got inside my head and saw exactly what I saw.

There were a few times during our wedding day when things did not go as planned with our vendors, and Melissa was professional and always prepared with a plan. I am sure there were glitches that she solved without my knowing, but for the few things I happened to be aware of, she handled them with grace so I didn’t have to. At one point, our DJ started playing songs from our “do not play” list, and I just looked at Melissa and within minutes all was resolved. Of course no one else in the room knew there was an issue, but Melissa was so in tune with how we wanted our wedding day to be that she immediately sprung to action.

At the end of the night, I was surprised to see Melissa still at the reception. She made sure, right up until the last minute, that we were happy and taken care of. It was a relief to have someone I trusted, someone who is reliable and someone who genuinely cares. Even though I wanted to handle everything on my own, there was no way it could have all come together without the help of Chris Owen Events.
