An Amazing Officiant
Joann was such a special part of our wedding!
You can trust that she'll get to know you and your partner and make the ceremony special. Our wedding was non-traditional and she was very caring and open-minded about us as a queer/LGBT+ couple, which was incredibly important to us. She printed our personalized vows and made sure we were comfortable with our final draft of the ceremony before our wedding day.

Personalized and warm ceremony w/ Joann
Joann did a great job at our wedding ceremony. She has a calming presence at the altar and delivered with poise and warmth. It was a special experience.
We received lots of compliments on how personalized our ceremony was and that was because Joann got to know us. We met over brunch and calls to tell her our story and what was important to us. Joann then put together a ceremony that reflected who we were and what we wanted. She made it very clear that she wanted to make sure we were happy w/ the ceremony; she worked w/ us until we had what we wanted and it all turned out great.
We highly recommend Joann. She does a great job and clearly cares about the couples she works with.

Our 5/11/24 celebration!
Joann is such a kind and lovely person. We could tell immediately from our initial conversation with her just how much love and passion she has for her work as a certified celebrant; we chose her without hesitation to officiate our wedding ceremony. She took the time to really get to know my husband Nate and I and included us every step of the way while writing our perfect ceremony. She met with us on two occasions to go over drafts of the ceremony (offering more meetings if needed) and reviewed both of our personal vows to help us nail that harmony in length and tone between both our words. We couldn’t have picked a better person to marry us!

Amazing officiant!
Absolutely incredible! Joann was very professional, but more importantly, she was warm, kind, and thoughtful. She met with me and my now husband no less than three times before the wedding to get to know us better so that we can have a more personalized ceremony. She listened to our feedbacks and incorporated them into the ceremony so that it genuinely reflected our love story. The attention to detail and care Joann took to write such a beautiful script was evident from the many positive compliments we received about it from our guests. We are beyond grateful to Joann for helping make our wedding day that much more amazing!

10/10, a fantastic experience
Joann was an extremely conscientious officiant who took our various expressions of affection and brought it together to form a beautiful ceremony we will remember fondly. We are shy and have trouble expressing ourselves in the open so the task to get a ceremony from us was a daunting. Fortunately, we had Joann there to help us break out of our shell making the task great for us to reminisce on what we love about each other. She was extremely prompt about responding to questions and concerns we had and made sure to schedule time with us on each point to ensure everything was perfect. The ceremony was as beautiful as we envisioned and we were very happy with the results. Good communication, professionalism, and being fun to talk with us are hard traits to come by but somehow Joann embodied these aspects help bringing together one of the best days of our lives. We highly recommend Joann if you are doing a ceremony in the San Diego area and it a pleasure working with her.

Captured our love story perfectly!
Joann was our celebrant for our wedding in September - she was amazing throughout the entire process and worked with us to create a beautiful, individualised ceremony that captured our love story perfectly. We had several Zoom and phone calls leading up to the wedding (given we were living overseas during the planning) because she wanted to make sure she got to know us and was able to create something that truly captured us - and she did an amazing job! Our officiant
Joann and her hubby Brian are a dream team. Joann officiated our non religious ceremony and made it very personal. Brian helped us with the chairs and sound system for our ceremony, he even played some our favorite songs before and after the ceremony that the string musicians couldn't play. We planned this wedding from across the country- Joann and Brian were part of our 'team' of helpers who made our vision come to life.

It was such a pleasure working with Joann. She was communicative and took the time to get to know us in our first meeting, leading to a beautiful ceremony draft that captured the essence of our relationship. Joann was easy to contact by email and Zoom, which made the prospect of writing personalized vows a lot less daunting! On the day of the ceremony, Joann worked with our photographer so we could get the first look captured. I was definitely stressing a bit the night before, but Joann was clear in her explanations and everything went more smoothly than I could have imagined. I'm so happy that we went with Joann to officiate our wedding, everything turned out perfectly!! From the start of the planning process all the way up until our wedding day, she did an amazing job getting to know me and my now-wife and gaining a deeper understanding of who we are as people and all of the elements of our relationship that she was able to capture beautifully during our ceremony. Joann was so wonderful and thorough in getting to know myself and my now husband Shawn to be able to personalize our ceremony and make it special for all in attendance! She also made us feel comfortable and confident enough to write our own vows for the ceremony, which all our guests loved! Many of our guests also came up to us afterwards to tell us it was one of the best ceremonies they've been to! Joann also handled all the logistics of the wedding license after the ceremony so that Shawn and I wouldn't have to worry about sending it back after the wedding. We couldn't recommend Joann enough!

Amazing Officiant!
Joann was truly so amazing throughout our entire ceremony process. My (now) husband and I were having a hard time finding a vendor since neither of us are very religious or spiritual, but Joann totally understood and didn't pressure us to feel like our ceremony had to feel a certain way. After chatting, she had us fill out a questionnaire to get to know us as a couple and our love for each other. I feel like it was the perfect blend of things that allowed her to write a beautiful and personalized ceremony. We got so many compliments from our family about how wonderful and true to us the ceremony felt and I could not agree more. Even our guest took some pointers for a wedding he was officiating for a friend a couple of weeks later since he loved it so much! It was funny and sweet and truly genuine to us as a couple and our love story. We couldn't have asked for anything more! We would highly recommend Joann to anyone in need of an officiant. Wonderful experience and absolutely wonderful person!

Our wedding ceremony, officiated by Joann, was so sweet
Joann made our ceremony so sweet! We had an intimate wedding and we wanted to incorporate cultural elements, family vows, and also have the tone be loving but fun - all within 30 minutes or less. She made the ceremony feel so * us * and we’re grateful to have that beautiful memory for the rest of our lives. After our wedding, Joann even mailed us the vows she printed for us the day of - it was such a lovely and sweet surprise! Her husband also managed our sound/music for the ceremony and he was great! His whole set up was really professional and he even covered up all the wires with a sleek cover so everything looked great. They made our special day truly feel special. This was particularly important to us for our intimate ceremony. We found not everyone puts the same effort into intimate ceremonies but Joann always made us feel special throughout the entire process. I highly recommend working with Joann and her husband for your wedding!

Excellent Service - Highly Recommended
I would highly recommend Ceremonies De Vie for your upcoming wedding! Joann Lane has a wonderful process and style; she is generous with her time, and really gets to know you. She customizes a wedding ceremony to express how you met and who you are as a couple. Joann also supports you in writing individual vows which are both personalized and meaningful.
Joann was incredibly supportive the day of the wedding and my guests absolutely loved her presentation and demeanor. I received several compliments from my family and friends who stated the ceremony and vows suited us perfectly.
Joann's husband, Brian provided the sound and music for the wedding ceremony and reception. He was great to work with and responded to special requests throughout the evening, he even stayed a little longer than contracted when guests wanted to dance a few more songs.
Joann and Brian are truly a power couple; both are professional and competent. It is great to work with kind, down to earth people that genuinely care about your special day. I would definitely give them a call to discuss their services and fees! :)

An absolutely perfect partner for celebration
Joann was the perfect celebrant for our special day. She spent several sessions getting to know us and our story and built out a beautiful ceremony that was specific to our relationship. Not only did she make the ceremony flow smoothly, she made it extremely memorable and unique to our story. We are so happy that we got to work with Joann, both as an officiant and as a wonderful person.

Every step of the process exceeded our expectations. We only reached out to officiants about 6 weeks in advance of the wedding, but Joann was responsive and easy to work with despite the short notice. She put in a great effort to get to know us and understand our relationship and personalities. She expertly crafted this information into the perfect ceremony script in the first draft.

Extremely accommodating
We were recommended by another officiate that couldn't do our wedding on Christmas Eve. Not only did Joann do our wedding. She allowed us to switch venues to her house at the last minute. We were late and she didn't get frustrated at us. If she did, she didn't show it. She made the entire ceremony perfect and she made it a big deal to work with us on what we wanted for our vision. She is worth WAY more than what she charged for us. If I ever hear of someone eloping in the LA area I'm definitely sending them her way. She hooked us up with an amazing photographer and their beautiful home was made for children. They were so patient with our children which we don't see often. She performed a hand fasting for our ceremony and you can tell she did her research. We just love her.

Not a dry eye!
Joann was absolutely amazing!! She was very accommodating planning with us because my wife and I were actually living across the country from each other at the time. She came to meet us in person the day before our wedding and the day of she arrived early and performed the most beautiful ceremony!! There wasn’t a dry eye there including her own!

Finding the right officiant for our wedding was something we were struggling with until we met Joann. From our first meeting we knew she was perfect and that instant connection was made. She really truly took the time to get to know us and get to know our relationship. On the day of the wedding she was so calm and collected which helped both me and my wife that special day. Her words during our ceremony really represented our relationship and were beautiful from beginning to end. The best part above all else was how much we could see that she cared about us and took a vested interest in both of us and that is something we will always remember and cherish. A true professional and genuine person
We are so happy that we found Joann to officiate our wedding! We originally were going to have a friend of ours perform the ceremony, but when that fell through our venue recommended Joann and from our first meeting with her I felt she was genuine and really took the time to get to know us. She gave each of us some homework to help her put together a draft of the ceremony and I was impressed with the first draft. We had very minor edits, but she really captured us in the ceremony! We live in the Bay Area and so planning a wedding in another city is challenging, but Joann was very responsive and when we did meet her in person she was such a delight. We finalized the ceremony and she even came to our rehearsal! She handled the marriage license and took care of sending it back to the county clerk in the city we live in after the wedding. It was just seamless and stress free. The wedding license is the most important document out of all the pieces of paper your gather while planning your wedding so it felt great to have a professional take care of it so we could just relax and enjoy the days after our wedding. The favorite part of our wedding day was our ceremony and we received many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the ceremony was. Joann set the stage for that and we are truly grateful.

A perfect ceremony we will never forget
We hired Joann for our wedding ceremony and couldn’t possibly be happier that we did. Joann was incredible for so many reasons, but I’ll start by mentioning what I think truly makes her stand out the most - she has a rare and unique talent for really being able to listen and understand people, who they are and what they want deep down. Because of this, she made our ceremony so personal and special. We planned our wedding virtually - living in Arizona during COVID lockdowns and worked with Joann over the phone and email. After a phone call and an email questionnaire - she was somehow able to understand us, our love, and what we wanted better than we could have explained ourselves. We could tell she really put a lot of research, thought, and time into creating our ceremony. Afterwards, all our guests kept commenting it was one of the most special ceremonies they’d ever seen, and we felt the same. It was our favorite part of the wedding. Joann had such a sweet, calming presence and the way she spoke was so sincere, beautiful, and moving. She also goes above and beyond in her services, offering so much more than officiating the ceremony. Joann will work with you on multiple drafts of a ceremony (though we felt ours was perfect off the bat) help you with your own personal vows if you want, provide valuable insight throughout the planning process and rehearsal, help with the certificate and license, and much more. She is so experienced, professional, and really knows what she’s doing in a multitude of ways. We will be forever grateful to Joann for being such a huge part of what made our big day perfect.

From the first time we met with Joann over zoom, we knew she was going to be our officiant. She zoomed with us several times to get to know us prior to our wedding day, and then we met her in person when we got to San Diego. She was attentive to detail, and we both felt as if she did a great job of putting our thoughts and feelings into the ceremony that she wrote for us. It was absolutely beautiful. She even took our written vows and put them onto notecards for us! Fairytale Wedding - Beautiful Ceremony
Joann made sure my day was flawless!! Her words really made the ceremony so special and intimate. She narrated everything and that was a huge help and so beautifully done!! I loved how she narrated, as my Father was giving me away to my Husband. They even helped with my music and a zoom meeting, so family could watch from home!! Top notch!! Joann and Brian’s work is exceptional and I couldn’t have been more happy with how she put together our ceremony so flawlessly. Good thing she came prepared with our vows because we forgot them inside. I feel like a marriage should be a special celebration and her experience and thoughtfulness, really helped make the day magical. During these circumstances of lockdown, we did not know how to organize our wedding so our family can meet, feel the emotion and realize the importance of them being part of the ceremony. From the beginning, Joann guided us and helped us prepare the event. We had a Zoom event and everything was perfect. Her husband Brian helped with the technical set up so that our guests could participate and feel connected virtually. The overall organization was outstanding! The Perfect Day
We were lucky enough to find Joann during the sparse times of COVID and knew right away, much like when you find your perfect partner, Joann was a rare find. From start to finish, Joann was thoughtful, kind, considerate, compassionate and knowledgeable. She asked us all the right questions to get our hearts and minds headed in the right direction to write vows that reflected our love for each other. My wife and I look back on our day as perfection due in no small part to Joann's professionalism and experience. We had the best experience working with JoAnn Lane from Ceremonies De Vie. We were recommended her through our venue and we got truly lucky. She helped us through the entire process from day 1. We were having trouble making an appointment for our marriage license and she had plans A,B,C and D to make sure we got one. We live out of state and we had multiple skype interviews with JoAnn so that she could really get to know us as a couple, and she did just that. The words she said during our ceremony made all of our friends and family feel like JoAnn really knew and understood us and our relationship. She had wonderful suggestions for our vows and the whole day felt very special. Planning out of state weddings can be stressful, but this was one part that we did not have to worry about. JoAnn made the whole process easy and stress free. She is very professional and kind. She understands her clients and knows how to provide a truly beautiful and unique experience that is all their own. We could not have asked for a better ceremony! The most amazing officiant.
My husband and I have been trying all of 2020 to get married courthouse style but because of COVID-19, we had a lot of date changes and challenges. We first met with Joann in May for our couples meeting. Joann asked us a couple of questions about our relationship and sent us some homework to do so that she could write a personalized ceremony just for us! My husband and I are non-religious so we just wanted a simple spiritual ceremony and she REALLY delivered. Joann offered to help us both write our vows individually and once we were done with them she printed them on cute cards so that we didn't have to memorize our vows for the ceremony. Because of COVID we weren't able to do our ceremony in the park or beach and we didn't want to spend money on a venue so Joann and her husband graciously offered their home and beautiful back yard to us. We finally got married on October 26, 2020. Joann was so quick to respond to emails and phone calls, her and her husband went above and beyond for us! She set up her back yard with chairs for our friends with halloween treats, pumpkins and decor, pumpkin poop snacks, professionally made sugar cookies with our last name on them, a tv in the yard so that we could Zoom call our family (all from Missouri), a floor microphone, a champagne toast, and a bubble machine above where we stood. We paid for an officiant but she made the day truly special for us. I don't know how to thank her enough. She made our small ceremony so magical, she truly cared about our well being and what we wanted. Joann even allowed our 92lb dog to join our ceremony as a guest. We are so glad that we decided to hire Joann instead of doing the COVID courthouse wedding (no guests allowed, and an assigned witness). It was the small, intimate wedding I never knew I wanted. HIRE HER! THERE IS NO ONE BETTER!

Working with Joann was easy and comfortable. I wasn't sure what to expect from an officiant that I didn't previously know and didn't get to spend a lot of time with, but she made my fiance and I feel at ease right away with our first introductory phone call.
My fiance has never been great at expressing his emotions out loud or via the written word, but she had us start by filling out some questions about ourselves and each other and I think this helped set him at ease and get the words flowing naturally. She also asked us questions over the phone so questions came to us naturally and nothing was over-thought or overwritten.
Once we gave her all this background information on us she used this to draft up such a lovely ceremony speech leading up to the vows. It felt genuine and like there was an honest relationship built between us to have her know this much about our love that we were sharing with our families.
On the actual day she arrived early with her husband Brian who was there to help with extra details and take photos, which turned out great. My family told me several times how nice the ceremony was and I know that was because of the amazing words said by Joann.I was so happy we choose Ceremonies De Vie for our officiant needs and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to find a professional and top notch officiant.

Joann is an amazing officiant. She was super helpful during all of our meetings. She took the time and effort to facilitate a discussion of the significance of marriage. We were encouraged to reflect on what we valued in our marriage and each other.
The ceremony was well orchestrated, every moment was perfect and every word had deep meaning. We appreciate everything she has done to create a beautiful ceremony and we will cherish these memories for the rest of our lives.

Joann was the best choice we could have made-she is such a nice, understanding and intelligent woman- she did a great job!! She helped us with everything and didn‘t miss any detail. We also met her husband, who is really nice as well!! We haven’t only met the best officiant we could find but also found two new friends we‘d like to keep in touch with. Even the fact that we are from Germany wasn‘t a problem for Joann- we met her twice in advance and kept writing emails for several month- she always answered fast and was always there for us!

So sweet and amazing
Joann is simply amazing and there’s no other way to put it. We hired her about 7 months ago and she was so quick to reply to us and is so welcoming and inviting. She was there every step of the way leading up to the wedding and any questions I had she was right there for me/us. We had our wedding July 20th and it was so beautiful she described my husband and I’s love for each other so beautifully and perfectly said. When she sent me the rough draft of the ceremony readings I was just so blown away. I can go all day talking about how amazing she is! Do yourself a favor and have her for your wedding. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else up there beside my husband and I!

Best officiant ever!
We stumbled upon Joann through a Google search while looking for officiants for our wedding. We set up an appointment and were immediately impressed with her authenticity and genuine interest in who we were and what our story was. Through the process, she was prompt, helpful, and always available. She wrote a beautiful ceremony that captured our relationship perfectly, and she was always open to any insight from us. The day of, she was on time, prepared, and helpful with any last minute details. After the ceremony, I received so many compliments on what a great job Joann did. We loved Joann, and so did all of our guests. I can not recommend Joann highly enough. Of all the weddings I have been to, Joann is the best officiant I have ever seen (biases aside). She is kind, thoughtful, and attentive, and I couldn't imagine our ceremony without her and her fantastic work.

Memorable Ceremony!
Remember, a wedding ceremony is going to primarily consist of the wedding couple and the officiant. This is not an aspect of the wedding to overlook. Your officiant’s words will be the one to set the tone of the wedding, tell your story, articulate your love for each other, and guide your journey.
Joanne is extremely kind, patient, caring, and genuine. She took a sincere interest in our story and asked questions to get to know us from our first conversation together. We felt that Joanne was just as interested in getting to know us, as we were in getting to know her. Talking to Joanne is easy, stress-free, and there was never any pressure to our conversations. We are both not used to being able to express our emotions to each other easily and quite awkward when it comes to these things. Joanne already started to help us realize and describe our feelings and love for each other during our inquiry with her.
When she sent us a draft of our wedding ceremony, it honestly took a feeling of a fearful and anxious day into one of anticipation and excitement. Her words are beautiful, carefully crafted, and were uniquely written for us. We really do believe Joanne helped us to explain and understand our feelings and love for each other. For this, we are eternally grateful and we are a better and stronger couple from it. I can’t emphasize how happy I am about how our ceremony turned out and I highly recommend Joanne if you are looking for an amazing person and officiant.

We had the most life changing ceremony with Joann Lane. We met at a coffee shop a few days prior to our wedding and instantly had a connection with Joanna. Joann was so warm and welcoming. On our first meeting, she asked us questions to get to know us and also find out what we were looking for in an officiant. Joann had great suggestions for our untraditional ceremony and gave us some good tips on writing our own vows. She then emailed us with a questionnaire for us to fill out either together or separately. We chose to answer separately. She incorporated our answers beautifully into the ceremony.
Joann was prompt, professional, and very reasonably priced. We are so happy we chose her to be a part of our special day!

Joann and her husband made our wedding day absolutely perfect. In our first meeting, Joann made a point to get to know us individually and as a couple. She helped us on the little details, such as the best options upon entering the venues, possible hotel accommodations the night before near the venue, helping us find the perfect bouquets. She gave recommendations on limos, restaurants and activities during our stay, as well. On the day of our wedding, Joann took additional photos herself and added them to FB so family and friends could be apart of our wedding. AND to beat it all, they took us to a fancy restaurant for celebratory drinks! It was very refreshing to know she genuinely cared about making our day wonderful. I would highly recommend them!

Joann was a wonderful officiant for our ceremony. Making the ceremony a true reflection of us and our personalities was her priority, and she worked with us to make sure we felt comfortable with every aspect. We opted for a non-religious and light-hearted but sincere approach, and she was an excellent guide for helping us to focus on the meaning of the ceremony, not just the function. We felt it went beautifully and was the inclusive and loving moment we had hoped for.
