Matt Bowman of Bowman Photography shot both our October 2010 wedding and our engagement pictures, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience.

I was immediately drawn to the beauty and versatility of Matt’s work. His style is the perfect mix of traditional posed portraiture, ensuring you don’t miss important family and friends, and photojournalism, capturing the raw emotions of the day. He doesn’t do a lot of post processing because he doesn’t have to – Matt gets the photo right when he takes it. As a former graphic designer, I was also impressed with the layout and design of his albums. Each depicts the complete story of the wedding, not just a series of aesthetically pleasing moments. And the materials he uses are elegant and heirloom quality.

Our pictures turned out every bit as gorgeous as the sample albums he showed us during our initial meeting. In fact, it was virtually impossible to choose favorites. There wasn’t a bad picture in the bunch, nor did he miss any important shots. And our album is a true work of art. Looking through it, you feel like you’re there. I can’t do it without tearing up. And I can’t thank Matt enough for giving us such a wonderful treasure. I know it will be cherished by our family for generations.

However, it’s not just Matt’s artistry and skill that make working with him such a joy. He’s also a consummate professional and an extremely nice guy. Not only did he deliver everything that was promised in his simple, straightforward contract, he went above and beyond the call of duty, arriving early and staying late. And he had our entire online gallery of 300+ pictures ready within TWO days! That has to be some kind of record?! Moreover, he was virtually invisible at the wedding itself. Half our guests had no idea we’d hired a professional photographer until they saw all the lovely pictures. Even my parents, who knew he was there, were surprised by the stunning ceremony photos because he never once blocked anyone’s view or used an obvious flash. When taking posed portraits, Matt’s warmth and friendliness put everyone at ease – including my extremely self-conscious husband. Throughout our time together, I truly felt like Matt cared as much about getting great photos of my wedding as I did.

Finally, I also need to mention what a great value Bowman Photography is. Matt charges half what most of the wedding photographers in the area do, despite the fact that he’s more experienced and far more versatile than anyone else I’ve seen. I can safely say you won’t find a better deal in northeast Georgia. And you definitely won't be sorry if you choose Bowman Photography to capture your special day!

Bowman Photography is an excellent choice for professional, reasonably priced wedding photographs. Matt was wonderful to work with. He made me, the mother of the groom, feel very much at ease. The photos were available within a few days after the wedding for review. The biggest problem I had was choosing the ones to get since it wasn't practical to get them all! The wedding album is beautiful. I think you will be very pleased with Bowman Photography.

As the mother-of-the-groom, I didn't have much "say" in the wedding planning and selecting a photographer. However, I saw Matt's awesome handiwork after he did my son and now daughter-in-love's engagement pictures. Then we met him at the wedding. I agree with the other posts that Matt is a natural. He has a way of putting everyone at ease and actually makes posing for the camera enjoyable! I live 3 hours away from the newlyweds and Matt's business. However, he made the ordering pictures process so easy. EXCEPT for the choosing part...I wanted them ALL! The pictures were gorgeous! We were very pleased with our parent's album and the quality of Matt's work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

My husband and I got married last october. We were referred to Matt Bowman through a friend. From our first meeting, our experience was great. He is very professional and accommodating, and very quick to return messages. Our pictures were prefect. I ahve had friends get married and not buy their pictures done through other photographers, because they were not pleased. However, I loved all of my pictures and had an extremely hard time choosing which pictures to order, since they were all wonderful. We would totally recommend him to anyone!

I first saw Matt Bowman's exceptional work when he was the photographer for my older brother's wedding. I was immediately impressed with his attitude, his creativity, and willingness to make sure to my brother and my sister in law got every shot they wanted--whether that meant working overtime or walking all over the UGA campus to get the perfect shot. Although I was not engaged at the time of my brother's wedding, I had already made up my mind that when I got married, Mr. Bowman would be my photographer.

The first thing I did after I got engaged was to give Matt a call. This was another moment when he impressed me.... he remember our family and details about the wedding. Although it may seem silly to make such a big deal about him remembering my name, etc. it was a sign of how much he invests in his partnerships/jobs. I felt like he was more than just a photographer looking for a paycheck. Instead, he treats every wedding as it was his own and the individuals in the wedding as his friends.

For our engagement pictures, Matt was able to meet us in Athens, Ga on the UGA campus and took so many beautiful pictures! He truly understood what we wanted (causal but elegant) and made sure our personalities were displayed in our photographs. Our pictures were such a hit with all our family members--they even moved some of them to tears!

For our wedding, Matt was amazing. He was so efficient, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. He made everyone comfortable and took beautiful pictures throughout the ceremony and reception. He got the perfect blend of fun pictures (dancing, etc) to the classic poses every couple wants.

After our wedding, Matt gave us the pictures very quickly and asked us to simply pick out some of our favorite pictures for the album included in our package. When the album arrived, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. Matt had arranged each picture on the page and the quality of the album was clear. It was the perfect ending to our work with him.

As a generally type-A individual, I was not going to trust my wedding photography services to anyone but a professional. Matt exceeded all my professional and personal expectations of a wedding photographer. He is friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and most of all, passionate about capturing your special day's moments. I highly recommend Matt Bowman for any photography needs. He is simply the best and will always have a special place in our hearts.

Bowman Photography was an excellent vendor for our wedding at the Carl House in Auburn, Georgia. Matt was very professional, personable, and a joy to work with. All of Matt's work is done professionally and completely within a reasonable timeline. He was always easy to get a hold of and provides all of your information ahead of time so you do not have any surprises along the way. Bowman Photography was used my several of my friend's weddings and I was excited to find out that he would travel from Athens to Knoxville to photograph our special day. I loved his work at my friend's weddings and just felt he truly captured the happiness of the day and night.

Matt and his team traveled to Knoxville and he honestly was more than a photographer for us. He was always there when an unexpected "kodak" moment occurred. He was very professional and fun to work with.

When we look back on our wedding album, he literally caught the entire day and entire recpetion. He thought to take pictures that I never would've thought of (I guess that's why he's a photographer and I'm not:-), but when we got our proofs, I was so thankful. At one piont in the reception, which was on the water, he pulled us aside and said, "I hate to take you away, but the sun is setting and we could get some great shots by the river"...well, he was right. To this day, they are our favorite photographs of the day and we have almost all of them framed in our house. I was so thankful he had the foresight to grab us and steal us away briefly and capture that amazing moment in our lives.

We highly recommend Matt Bowman and Bowman Photography! Matt and his team took our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception pictures, and videoed the ceremony and reception as well. The video and all of the pictures turned out great! Matt is so easy to work with - he put everyone at ease so quickly. He was very responsive to all questions we had throughout the entire picture taking and picture choosing process. Matt has a great eye for not only capturing the moment and making a lasting memory, but for displaying it as well. We picked the pictures that we wanted in our book and left the design and layout of the book to Matt. We were thrilled with the results! We are truly thankful that we used Matt and his team! Matt Bowman was a pleasure to work with when our son and his beautiful bride got married in the chapel on the UGA campus. Since it was an out of town wedding for both families, we weren't sure who to use for the photography. After looking at many websites and talking to many vendors, Bowman Photography was selected to photograph this very special day. Matt also arranged the videography. He delivered in every way. There were no hidden costs, and the finished products were amazing. Matt provides a nice blend of traditional and artistic pictures. He was very respectful and did his job in an inconspicuous manner. We chose to also have Bowman Photography come to the rehearsal dinner to capture that on film, as well. That was a nice touch that I would recommend. Matt Bowman and team was the photographer and videographer for my wife and I's wedding in the summer of 2008 after the superb job he did for my sister's wedding in 2005. His varied ideas for engagement and wedding pictures in addition to the high quality photos are just a few of the things I loved about working with Matt. While most the of the vendors we used for our wedding provided a good service, Matt went above and beyond to get to know us and our wants and needs.
