Gail from Blooms was absolutely outstanding to work with for the floral arrangements for our wedding. She was so responsive, her flower arrangements were gorgeous and my bridesmaids and I received so many complements on our bouquets; Gail really did a great job.

I gave Gail a list of flowers that I liked and when we met with her she explained why she couldn't use some of the flowers. It was things that i didn't know or didn't think of like delicacy of the petals, need for water, etc. She explained why she picked the flowers she did and always had the cost in mind. She came in well under our floral budget. I didn't get to see many of the arrangments she did for us because I was too busy socializing. My bouquet turned out beautiful!

Gail did a wonderful job with my mom and I. We had NO Vision of what we wanted; I only knew what I did not want (no tacky wedding bows, no mirrors under the flowers, not a lot of color, etc). Gail saw a picture of my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses and a few magazine pictures i had ripped out showing things i liked and hated! With my only three words (I want things classy, elegant, and timeless), she was able to create my vision. My mom and I cannot picture in our minds what flowers look like and how they'll come together and Gail was able to go in the back of her store and bring out each flower she recommended and demonstrate how they'd look together. She had so much knowledge of flowers - what will die out of water, what flowers are in or out of season, and she saved the day because another florist we met with an hour before her recommended flowers to us that were not in season in October! Gail was more expensive than the other florist we had talked to, but her knowledge made us decide to go with her. We just cut back in other places that we didn't feel were as important to stick with our budget(invitations, etc).

Gail went to our reception site, the Tower Club, and made sure the tables looked great and placed the tall and shorter centerpieces at specific tables using her expertise. The flowers arrived exactly on time the day of the wedding. My bouquet was gorgeous and her tall centerpieces were incredible - they exceded my expectations and they received tons of compliments from guests. My only complaint is that my bridesmaids' bouquets did not come out like I expected. I had made it clear i liked round and structured bouquets and the leaves of the cymbidian orchids were sticking out and looked like spikes! I called Gail to let her know I was disappointed in the bridesmaid bouquets and she was extremly polite and sounded upset that it wasn't what I wanted, but she also didn't come up with any suggestions on ways to fix it. My mom and friends thought they looked nice, but it was the one thing I kept repeating the whole time we were together at our meeting that I did not like anything crazy and the spikes looked kinda crazy to me! I didn't want to take them to DC for pictures unless someone cut off the spikes so my mom and one of my bridesmaid clipped off the leaves and made the bouquets more rounded. For the price we paid for the bridesmaid bouquets (there were 9 of them), I would have appreciated her to have at least come up with something she could have done to fix them since there was still 4 hours until the ceremony when I called. After my mom and friend cut them, they looked much better and they look beautiful in our pictures.

Despite the "spikes" I would definately use Gail again because as soon as I walked into the tower club and saw the tall centerpieces, I knew exactly why I chose her.

The flowers were one of the best parts of the whole day. My bouquet was exactly as I envisioned it to be, the bridesmaids bouquests were beautiful and lush, and our centerpieces were simple and gorgeous. They were all delivered early and fresh and I was so happy with everything!

Gail was the nicest vendor I had. She dyed the flowers the color I wanted.

The bouquets I ordered looked a bit unfinished at their bases. The bridesmaids bouquets looked sparse. The cost of the bouquets didn't seem to justify what I received. However, the quality of the service and flowers were excellent and the boutonnieres were beautifully made. Perhaps my grievances would have been resolved if the florist communicated more exactly what I should expect to receive for the price I paid.

Beautiful final product. They were willing to work within our budget and used their experience to help us make a better choice for the brides bouquet. We arrived early to pick up our flowers and they had a few boutineers left to make. They finished the boutineers and brought them to the church for us at no extra cost. Excellent value!

Gail was wonderful to work with! I was an out-of-state bride so my mother actually picked her out! When we finally met, she was open to my ideas and provided her own suggestions, which were gained from many years of experience! When our wedding day finally arrived, she came to drop off all of the flowers and they were more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! She got everything right, from the exact color of the flowers I wanted to the beautiful arrangements. I would highly recommend Blooms to anyone looking for beautiful flowers!

The only part of my entire wedding day event that wasn't exceptional was the flowers. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the flowers and the arrangements that were provided. The main complaint was that the table arrangements were not arrangements, but cut flowers stuck in water. For $65-75 per table, that was extremely expensive for a blue hydrangea in water. I was also rather disappointed in my bridal bouquet. The calla lillies were small, and it was not what I envisioned. Lastly, when the florist dropped off the arrangements, it was late and extremely rushed, not allowing for time to discuss any problems. I am sure they had other events that day, but since I was paying, mine was just as important as the others!

I have to say on a positive note that Blooms was VERY responsive to my complaints (sadly after the fact) and even returned a fair portion of the flower fee. This may have been an isolated event, and even though I cannot give them a high recommendation, please read other reviews to see if other brides had better experiences.

I contacted Gail with Blooms and had a pretty rough idea of what I wanted for my bouquets, but wasn't sure about anything else. Unfortunately, I was on a tight budget and couldn't go with all of her ideas for other things because my taste for the bouquets was rather expensive. I had her put together the costs if we went with everything and it was about $1000 more than I'd budgeted so I decided to go with just bouquets, boutinierres (sp?), corsages, cake table and topper, and the placecard table.

The flowers that we ended up with were absolutely gorgeous!!! I had no idea the bouquets would be so full and big. I went with Black Magic Roses and Plum Calla Lillies. When I saw my cake and how she had decorated it with fresh flowers, I was so happy! Everything was prettier than I ever could've imagined! I wish I'd had the money for the fresh floral centerpieces we talked about because I know they would've been gorgeous!

Blooms was overpriced considering I didn't not get flowers for the church and skimmed on centerpieces considerably. Not to mention, I really thought Gail (the owner) was genuine until I walked into my reception hall after a wonderful ceremony only to see that she had used spray paint on daises that I paid for. This was not in the plans. if she knew she could not get the color she should have spoken up instead of lying, collecting my money and never even following up! Was not worth my effort to fight back. As well if you are of ethnic decent take your business elsewhere.

We had a wonderful experience with Blooms for our wedding. Their ideas and flexibility made everything stress free. The prices are unbeatable for the product you get. Our flowers were amazing.

Blooms did a fantastic job on our flowers for the ceremony and reception. The bridal bouquets were also lovely but it would have been nice if we could have seen a mock-up before the actual event so we knew what to expect. Had we seen the bridesmaids' bouquets in advance, we probably would have picked something slightly different. The florist's Web site offers several pictures that can guide your decision, but it's difficult to imagine the exact arrangement without seeing it first. This florist is especially good for local weddings in the Northern Virginia/Fairfax County area because the staff know all the local venues very well and can work with them behind the scenes as need be.

I brought a swatch of my bridesmaid's dresses, and we had the perfect flowers picked out within an hour. I got a call a week before the wedding saying they wouldn't have enough of the pink roses to do all the bouquets, so we changed mine to all white, which I actually liked better. The flowers were there and set up before I even got there. I never saw a soul from Blooms on my wedding day because everything was already done.
