Best wedding cake I have ever tasted!! I sent Heidi 1 picture that I liked and we spoke on the telephone once. She gave me exactly what I wanted and her prices were super affordable. I decorate cakes for fun (not professionally), so I was hesitant to pay someone for something that I could do myself. I promise it was worth every penny!

Our cake looked awesome (I showed Heidi a picture of a unique square tier design that I liked). It tasted amazing!!!! We had a harmless miscommunication, (as someone else mentioned), since we had payed the deposit a year in advance, and live in KY, we had forgotten (if we ever knew) by wedding time that we couldnt pay (over the phone) with a card bc she doesnt take cards. So we did have to rush ship a money order payment to her which was kind of time consuming when we were scrambling to get ready for our wedding trip to FL. so it would help if she communicated that point more clearly before the last minute. Not a big deal, just remember she DOES NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS and all should be fine :) ... BOTTOM LINE though, she told me to trust her on the details of the design, I did, and it looked awesome (I'm sure it wasnt an easy design), and like I said, it was DELICIOUS. She totally knows what she's doing!! we were overall really happy with Bake My Day.

Heidi McAnulla of Bake My Day is an awesome pastry chef. My wedding cake was absolutely beautiful AND delicious. She captured my vision and made it even better. She created a three tier tuxedo cake (white cake and chocolate ganache) with buttercream icing. It was decorated with delicate lace work and sugar shells. My guests LOVED the cake and had seconds! Heidi is full of energy. She can sometimes be hard to get a hold of...she has a lot of business...but she will ALWAYS return your calls or email. Just be patient.

Have examples of cakes you like and let the staff help with cake/filling pairings. The coconut and Italian cream cakes were perfect.

The cake was decorated very professionally and exactly as requested. I was expecting it to taste fantastic, considering the price, but I've had better. It was good, but not that special. Maybe we didn't get one of the better flavors. Some guests didn't care for it at all, but everyone has different tastes. We had arranged to make the final payment the day before the wedding, and were a little annoyed when they waited tilll we got there to tell us they needed it in cash. We were on a tight schedule an didn't appreciate having to make an extra trip to an ATM!

Bake my day truly can create a work of art that taste amazing.

I loved my cake! Everyone commented on the design & the taste of the cake. The citrus & raspberry layers were so great especially for a beach wedding. Heidi was professional & helped me with the design. Best tasting cake!

I really wish I had went with a different vendor. This was a Destination Wedding. I live in Louisiana. I picked Bake My Day because of the great reviews. I made a special trip to Destin to meet Heidi 6 months before my wedding. I'm still string to figure out what happen last week for my wedding. My Wedding was moved to Panama City Beach due to a change of venue in Destin. When I called Heidi 2 weeks after giving her a deposit she said it was no problem. I was told someone could meet me halfway with the cake. I had ordered a Wedding Cake and a chocolate Cheesecake for my husband. About 3 weeks before my wedding I called Heidi to check in and tell her I was having fewer guest. I didn't know if needed to make my cake smaller. She tells me to get rid of my husbands cheesecakes because she said it was too hot and her last few cakes hadn't done real well in the heat. I told her ok for the cheesecake but he still wanted something chocolate.
We then changed one top cake to chocolate filling. I was then also told she had gotten another wedding and she couldn't have someone meet me half way. No Problem. On July 15 I had a friend drive from Panama City to Destin to get the cake. When the cake got to the reception room where my soon to be husband was setting up, he calls me. It's NOT MY CAKE! I called Heidi crying due to the fact my wedding was about to start in 2 hours. The cake was decorated wrong, it had no beach chairs for the top of the cake or little fence boards that went on certain sections on the cake. The icing also looked like cool whip. Not the icing we had at the cake tasting. When I called Heidi she said she had another Wedding and she was sorry. She would give me a nice refund but there was NOTHING she could do. She promised it was my cake and it was decorated wrong. I told her I wanted my cake. She said she was sorry and hung up. There was nothing we could do. We were stuck with the cake. Ok.. cake cutting time. We cut the cake and guess what? No chocolate on the top filling of cake and the bottom cake that was suppose to be almond....NOTHING. It tasted like a cake that had been taken out the freezer and thrown together. The icing broke off the cake as the cake cutter cut it. She looked at me and said this is just awful.

On the following Tuesday we drove to Destin. I returned the cake board to get my 30.00 deposit and I wanted a full refund for the cake. I also brought the not eaten cake with me. I was told by FiFi that works
there that Heidi was not there and for me to come back in a hour. About 30 mins later Fifi calls and said that Heidi was sick and had to go home for the day and would call me the next day. Heidi knew we where on our way back to Louisiana. She was avoiding me. My husband said well we dropped off the cake bored we need our 30.00 or something saying we returned it. So, we drive back. Guess who's car is there??? When they saw my husband walk up some one ran and locked the door. He knocked on the door and FiFi still claimed she wasn't there.
Let me also say Heidi's cell phone and planner was on the counter. We still have yet to hear from her. We paid Heidi $480.00 for a cake that was wrong and tasted awful. If you do choose this awful vendor please pray they don't get a Wedding that is bigger than yours.

After showing pictures of cakes that I loved and discussing colors and themes, the cake that was created for us could not have been a better match to what we were hoping for! It was the perfect color, with beautiful shell accents for our beach wedding, and the taste.......YUM! Everyone is still talking about that delicious cake!

Hedi is so much fun to work with!! The cake was created exactlly how we invisioned! It was so delicious that the whole cake was eaten at the wedding (my husband and I only got the small taste when we feed each other because it disappeared so fast)!! I have never seen that happen before! Thank you Hedi!!

I met with Heidi in November and showed her a picture of the cake that I wanted and she said that she had done that cake before and it was no problem. Apparently she had not actually done the cake that I wanted before because the cake she delivered to my wedding did not look like the picture that I had showed her. When I spoke with her after the wedding she said that she had started to do what we had talked about and it didn't look good so she did what she thought looked best.


My advice when working with Heidi: Be sure to emphasize to her that she needs to do what you want and not go her own way.


The cake did taste really good, though.

Our cake was SCRUMPTIOUS! It was gorgeous and we got SO many compliments on how delicious it was! We even took the leftovers to our condo and ate it during our honeymoon!!! Thanks Heidi!

Heidi did a beautiful job and did exactly what we asked. We had the most delicious cupcakes and a small wedding cake for us. The cupcakes were out of this world good- so good people can't stop talking about them and our cake was the best ever. I dont even really like cake but i gobbled my piece down and decided I just never tried the right cake.

The wedding cake was beautiful, and the chocolate with peanut butter filling was sooooo rich and delicious!!! Heidi does stay VERY busy, and you should plan far in advance with her, as she books up and can be a little hard to meet with at times. She took all of my pain in the butt suggestions- thank you food network-- and put them on paper, along with her creative suggestions and turned it into an edible work of art!!! So many people told me that our wedding cake was the perfect match to the theme of our wedding, and loved it!! I think that the chocolate peanut butter cake will be my new cake of choice, even though she has tons of flavors to chose from!! Again, Heidi is very popular, so book her fast, it will be worth it!

My mom and I loved Heidi's cake so much, we did everything short of licking the plate clean at our tasting. I don't know how she makes her cake so spongy and light and her fillings so flavorful. When she asked how many guests were were having (approx. 25) and said that the three tier cake I'd asked for would serve over 60 people, I had NO doubt that it would be eaten. My husband and I had a small tier to bring home and freeze for next year (though truth be told, half of it was devoured on our car ride home). I'm very particular and detail oriented, and I knew what I wanted. I wanted to use mostly buttercream with minimal fondant since most people just peel off the fondant anyway and don't eat it. Fondant usually looks more flawless than buttercream, but it is possible to smooth buttercream and Heidi did a wonderful job. She warned me that there may be bubbles in some of the piping, but I honestly didn't notice them if there were any. Our cake looked almost identical to the picture I showed her. We chose a genoise cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla creme patisierre filling on the bottom layer and creamy coconut custard in the top two layers, and I think everyone tried both flavors (the coconut filling was the fave among our guests).
