We were coaxed into making a cash deposit for our tuxedo rentals at the Bridal Show in Houston. The representative assured us that if we changed our minds for any reason, we could get our cash back from the store nearest to us in The Woodlands.
A month or so later, I tried contacting the store by phone to get information on our order so that we could start scheduling fittings. Most of the time, the phone just rang and rang (during normal business hours) with no answer and no voicemail system. Days later, when I finally did get a representative on the line, she sounded as though she did not want to waste her time assisting me over the phone. I was out of town on business and simply asked her to confirm the amount of each tuxedo rental so that I could pass that information on to the guys in our wedding party. Clearly inconvenienced, she huffed then said, "you HAVE that information on the printout we gave you when you made your selections." I informed her that I was calling from another state and did NOT happen to have the tuxedo contract with me on this business trip. She let out another painful huff and, after a few minutes on hold, she reluctantly gave me the prices using her now trademark annoyed tone.
After that unpleasant experience, I decided to inquire about tuxedo rentals elsewhere. I remembered hearing someone say that another nearby vendor was great with their servicing, so I called them to compare pricing - their prices were significantly LOWER than those at Al's, so I decided to cancel our contract and, as the Bridal Show rep promised, get our cash deposit back from our location in The Woodlands...but that would not happen. They said they were not allowed to give cash refunds in the store (she says she doesn't know why they told us different at the Bridal Show).
After discussions with the store manager (also hard to track down,) we eventually received our deposit refund in the mail. By that time we'd already signed the contract with the other company, which, by the way worked out beautifully for us! Even though the location is convenient, we will NEVER utilize Al's Formalwear, nor will we recommend it to anyone who asks.

The groom and groomen werenicely dressed in the end, but only after a few problems with too short sleeves, too tight jackets and too small necks on shirts. Be sure to book and pickup at least a few days in advance so problems can be fixed!

Our Guys look Great. We had all but one of our guys coming in from out of town. all we had to do was have the guys go to any Al's and they had the order ready at the one by us.

The guys all looked so handsome in their tuxes. Great that it's a national chain, so very easy for groomsmen to get tuxes no matter where they lived. Very pleased and reasonably priced.

all of our groomsmen looked amazing as well as the fathers ring bearer and ushers and of course the groom! Thanks Since our wedding party got there tuxes from als, the grooms was free! cant beat that!

I was lucky in that even with all the rain wedding weekend, our tuxes were in and the guys had no problems fitting into them. My only complaint is that 5 days before the wedding, I get a call from Al's saying that they have discontinued the vest we were going to use. I had to go down there and pick out a new vest. They did compensate with another free tux, but how do you split that between 6 men? I also didn't like that I booked at Meyerland but switched to BayBrook as the wedding was in Galveston and the BayBrook location couldn't "modify" any of our information. Meyerland had to do it. But all in all, the guys looked great and that's all that really matters.

Although they handled evryone in a timely manner, the men's tuxedos were horrible. Buttons were falling off before the service and during, some shirts were sewn into the jacket, pockets had holes in them, and for those they came in from out of state, pants did not fit appropriately even after they told them they fixed the problem. Very large wedding party and was not happy. Not recommended!
