1) My event was "accidentally double booked" MONTHS before the wedding. -- The photographer said we needed to pay for an EXTRA photographer, costing more money than intended.

2) The photographer did not follow the timeline. -- We were already stressed that we were behind schedule. We kindly asked him to follow the timeline and he said, "I never follow the timeline. I play by ear..." which stressed out the wedding party because now no one knew what was going on, the wedding planners, and especially the bride.

3) The photographer forced photo poses that were unwanted. -- The bride was uncomfortable with a particular shot with her garter. She repeated herself many times, yet the photographer continued to snap photos and ignored her.

4) The photographer was asked to take a certain photo of the wedding party and refused to. -- The bride and groom wanted photos with the wedding party all together and the photographer said with a sassy manner, "That's not in the timeline."

5) The photographer was drinking on the job.

6) The photographer did not take any photos of the father daughter dance.

7) The quality of the photos were unacceptable. They appear raw, overexposed, and unedited.

8) The photographer disappeared at the end of the night.

9) The photographer failed to deliver prints even after 6 months of waiting not one print was done.


Talking with other people who have hired him, he has failed to give them their photos all together because his "computer crashed." That couple has no photos of their wedding. They wanted to sue the photographer, but the photographer stated that he is already being sued by five other people and wanted to work an agreement. Please save yourself and DO NOT HIRE THIS PHOTOGRAPHER!

Aloha Wedding Photography's pictures speak for themselves. What his photos cannot convey is what a joy it was to work with Slater Robinson from start to finish. While the photos are indeed gorgeous, they tell only a part of the story. Slater proved himself to be a professional time and again throughout our process who I would hire again and I already have recommended to my friends.

Slater was persistent and patient when we encountered challenges securing permission for him to perform services at the location of our ceremony and reception. As a destination bride, this gave me great confidence in my decision to choose Aloha Wedding Photography very early on!

He was patient and respectful through out the entire day of our wedding, not only to us, but to our guests as well. I cannot tell you how many of our guests commented on his demeanor and professionalism. One of our guests is a future bride who told me she was "stealing my photographer" because she liked him so much!

Slater is an excellent photographer who brings out the best of each individual in his fun, yet polished photos. Our photo shoot included 6 adults and 4 children for a family reunion and he was patient and flexible the entire time. I highly recommend Aloha Wedding Photography for any event needing an outstanding photographer.

Aloha Wedding Photography failed to show up for our wedding vows event on Valentines Day. We were shocked and very disappointed by their actions. They said there was a schedule mistake and that the photo date was schedule for an upcoming Sunday date. Since I paid in advance, we discussed in detail the day, date, time, and place of the photo shoot. He had all my contact information but did not even have the professionalism to call me or e-mail me. And I still have not been refunded my prepayment and now have to go through my credit card company to dispute the service (4 weeks later). What a hassle. I will never use this company again!

Planning your own wedding is one of the most difficult and stressful things I have ever done in my entire life. I can't imagine how difficult it is for a bride who is coming to Oahu and is unable to meet vendors and see locations in person. We live here and I still found it a challenge.

I don't know where to even start with describing the experience I had with Slater and Aloha Wedding Photography. It is truly a rare opportunity to work with someone as amazing as Slater.

Slater first did our engagement photo's. Even though we felt uncomfortable Slater put us at ease with his professionalism, easy going manner, calm demeanor and wonderful sense of humor. The pictures were unreal. I literally felt like I looked like a model and I have never in my life seen pictures so beautiful. Friends and family raved about the absolutely gorgeous photo's he took that we sent in our invitations.

Now the wedding... When I found out I had accidently booked our wedding on the Superbowl I freaked out. As many brides would. I had sent Slater a dozen messages, like a crazy person trying to ask if we or if I should change dates etc etc.

Eventually when I calmed down and realized it was way too late Slater made me laugh with his responses and complete calm nature to my crazy person messages.

The day before the wedding Slater told me he was bringing extra photographers for the wedding day picutres. Immediately that made me feel special. My wedding day was a complete blur, but during the day Slater was a professional, a friend, a comfort and an amazing man.

We received our photo's yesterday. I was a bit, (ok alot) nervous that I hadn't lost any weight and how I was going to look.

The photo's he took were incredible. Again, even though I thought maybe I wasn't, the pictures depict me as the most beautiful bride, the most beautiful and happy I have ever been or looked.

I could go on forever but just a few highlights about Slater and Aloha Photography...

*answering my bridezilla phonecalls in the middle of the night when I was freaking out, comforting me, and actually caring about what I was saying, then keeping me calm

*coming early the day of the wedding to take pictures of us getting ready, not because we were paying him to do it but because he knew it was an important part of the day and he wanted us to have the memory of it

*bringing 2 extra photographers just because

*Keeping me calm during moments of crisis

*Reassuring friends and family and making them feel comfortable

*Taking incredibley creative photographs that are unreal in their beauty

*Telling us how to cut the wedding cake when we were unsure

*Jumping on the floor to teach everyone "the cupid shuffle" (which was hilarious)

*Staying very late to take a few beautiful pictures of me and my family at the END of the night

*Offering to stay to make sure I had all the photo's I wanted

*Sending us the most incredible photo's I have ever seen in my entire life

Obviously Slater was a huge part of making my day special and for it being a success.

Sometimes on Oahu you will find people in the wedding industry who do the same thing day in day out, believe i quantity of weddings not quality and frankly people who have become lazy in their jobs because weddings in Oahu are guareenteed no matter how good you are because there are a million weddings here.

I guess in closing I would have to say that getting married is scary and stressfull but the most beautiful day of your life. If you are lucky enough to have Slater as your photographer you will be 100% satisfied. We definately were.

Slater was amazing! He has a great artistic eye and did a great job an all of the normal portraits you have at a wedding. He took a ton of pictures so you really get bang for your buck and he is very personable. He was very easy going and helped everyone get situated for pictures, which is important because as a bride it helps ease some of the stress. I did not know where I would be getting ready until last minute and he was very flexible with me letting him know last minute. He work around the chaos of all the bridesmaids getting ready and myself getting ready to get all of the little pictures you don’t think about. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Slater was awesome...very creative eye and a true artist in his work. His passion for catching moments with photography stands out in the way he works. Grateful to have had him for one of the most beautiful moments.

Slater is hands down, the best photographer I've ever worked with. Our pictures were absolutely breathtaking. He is not only talented, but also a great guy. He made working in front of the camera fun, and comfortable. I LOVE every photo!

Slater is everything a bride could wish for in a photographer! His professional manner remained consistent from the very moment I hired him to be my photographer and up to now as I wait for my photos! I'll have to admit I was a little apprehensive hiring vendors as I solely was the one doing all of my wedding planning and mainly because of an awful experience I had with a previous photographer.
He helped coordinate a plan that made sure he captured every single moment throughout my ceremony and reception that followed shortly! In the pre-planning phase, he allowed for my suggestions about who to take pictures of be incorporated - something I appreciated about him. I had about 1900 photos and we couldn't be any more satisfied with the results! We were absolutely floored with how beautiful they had come out! He took amazing shots! His creativity and experience as a photographer were clearly present in the pictures, making each and everyone all the more unique and special!
If you want someone who will do more than take pictures of your special day and go above and beyond, hire Slater! You WON'T regret it! You will be impressed with how quickly he corresponds to calls, texts and emails - something very important to already stressed-out Brides! He will work for and with you to provide the assurance needed to prove that you are still in control. We plan to hire him whenever we have important events! We love you, Slater!

It is difficult to put into words how wonderful Aloha Wedding treated us. We were so happy with the entire service. My new husband and I were so comfortable and at ease and it really shows in our photos. This was an extremely special day for us and Aloha Wedding Photography caught all those memories in such a unique way. I would recommend Slayter to every new couple that wants that extra special touch in their Wedding photos. He raises the bar well above the rest!

Slater is an amazing photographer! I'm so happy I was able to book him. Living on the island makes for some wonderful photos, but it seems like every photographer here has the same approach and images. Slater takes the beauty of the island and his crisp, artistic approach to photography and produces pictures that will make people stop in their tracks and look twice. Or three times. In addition to Slater's approach, is the most important thing. He devotes ALL his attention to you and what you want. Slater spent hours with me, never rushing and always making me feel comfortable. He took his time making sure he got the best shots and he made me feel like there was nothing else going on except my photo shoot. When I was able to view the unedited images, there were hundreds to choose from and they already looked amazing! I don't know how I chose which ones I wanted, but you will have tons of amazing options. I already have Slater booked for another shoot for the holidays and I can't wait to work with him again.
