Does the bridal bouquet and maid of honor bouquet have to be the same type of flower?
My maid of honor bouquet's is going to be made of real yellow roses. I wanted to maybe choose a different flower but in the same color range and silk(so that they last for pictures). I also plan to wear a flower in my hair that is similar to my bouquet. We are getting married in Mexico.

Today's weddings are all about being creative. It is absolutely okay to mix up the flowers! However, I would always opt for real flowers. With the products available to process flowers to extend the life as well as the drop in wholesale floral costs real flowers my actually be more cost affective.

This is one time you should have live flowers!
They will last all day and then some. if designed well.
When I design bridal bouquets I spray them with a life extender that seals in some of the moisture, yet is natural and allows fragrance and the subtle shadings to show.

You dont have to have the same flowers. many brides opt for Orchids and roses and then have the attendants in the same color family, say the bride uses Yellow roses and white Cymbidium orchids then the maids could carry yellow spray roses or yellow Lisianthus or even gebera daisy.
You can mix and match and enjoy the flowers of a region or season.
Some of the prettiest bouquets are mixed colors and flowers, so enjoy and ask the florist for ideas that will handle the time of year and temp you will have.

Go for it. Today is all about mix and match. Bridesmaids don't wear the same dresses and nobody carries the same flowers. The basic thing you want to do is stay within your color theme. Also, a lot of people will tell you to get real flowers, but a lot of the fake ones look just as good and last longer. I know people who did all of their bouquets with flowers from the craft store and it looked great. Just remember, it's your what you want!

I have done brides bouquets which were all white gerberas and maid of honors and bridesmaids that were done in daisies, The brides bouquet is the most important and thats what everyone is going to remember and you want to stand out.

The brides and MOH bouquet do not have to have the same flowers at all. I would personally recommend natural touch flowers. Better than silk but less expensive than fresh.

You can do what ever you like. You can take all or part of your bouquet and make it the same or different. As long as they are all basically the same size and shape they can even be different colors completely, just make sure they are tied off in the same color!

Good luck
