Wedding Venues in Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg’s proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park makes it a popular wedding location, and there are venues to suit a range of styles and event sizes. You can exchange vows in one of Gatlinburg’s many beautiful chapels or relax in one of its lovely resorts or rustic events centers. The area has a number of fine nature trails waiting for you to explore, and the Gatlinburg Needle and the Gatlinburg SkyLift are great places to go for wedding photos. The Gatlinburg SkyBridge, located at the top of the SkyLift, is the longest suspension bridge in North America, and with a height of 140 feet at its midpoint, the Skybridge offers views unlike any other. Just beyond the horizon, Knoxville is home to a number of lovely wedding venues you may wish to consider. The first capital of Tennessee, Knoxville boasts a number of delightful historic, garden, and waterside venues. The city is also home to a number of arts and culture festivals, including the East Tennessee Chili Cookoff and Shakespeare on the Square.

Gatlinburg Travel and Accommodation

McGhee Tyson Airport is the main arrival point for out-of-state visitors wishing to explore the Great Smoky Mountains region. Located 12 miles south of Knoxville, the airport is served by a number of major airlines, including Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and flights arrive daily from Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, and other cities across the country. Visitors travelling from Knoxville or the airport can take US 41 south to Gatlinburg. Guests looking for a more scenic route may wish to use US 321 as an alternative. Downtown Gatlinburg is pedestrian-friendly, and most of the city’s main attractions are within walking distance. Visitors can also hop aboard one of Gatlinburg’s famous trolleys. The Gatlinburg Trolleys cover an area of around 50 miles and are an easy, relaxing way to get around the city. Friends and family requiring overnight accommodation can select from a number of fine hotels, resorts, and lodges in and around the city and along US 321.

Gatlinburg has a warm and temperate climate. Temperatures range from an average low of around 25°F in January to an average high of over 85°F in July. Average annual precipitation is 55 inches. September and October have the fewest rainy days (10). May has the highest number of rainy days (15), and monthly precipitation averages around 5.8 inches. May, June, and July have an average of 9 hours of sunlight per day, so whether you are planning a spring celebration or a winter wedding, every day is a great day to experience the wonder and beauty that Gatlinburg has to offer.
