5 fabulous details we love from the new collection
By Anne Chertoff

While I’m not one of Kim Kardashian’s 10 million twitter followers, I did follow some of the details regarding her wedding. The new Mrs. Humphries wore three wedding gowns at her August wedding – one for the ceremony and two for the reception — all by Vera Wang. Two of the dresses “inspired” two of the wedding gowns for the White by Vera Wang collection and will be available in February 2012.

Here’s a quick look at the Spring 2012 White by Vera Wang collection:

1 – I love the traditional style of this tulle ball gown with Chantilly lace appliques on the bodice, basque waist and train.  Kim made a comment on the TODAY show that she wished her runner was black so that you could really see the detail on the train.  Brides wearing this gown may want to take her advice. (Style# VW351135, $1500)

2 – One of Kim Kardashian’s reception dresses inspired this sexy gown.  This georgette mermaid silhouette has draped straps which will definitely keep you from worrying that your dress will cause a wardrobe malfunction while you’re dancing the night away. (Style VW351136, $1500)

3 – This season a number of the dresses come with a sash or belted detail at the waist, which is nice since you don’t have to spend additional wedding funds to complete the look.  One of the dresses that comes with a grosgrain sash is this basket-weave organza ball gown with asymmetrical organza petals and draped skirt. (Style VW351089, $1,500, available January 2012)

4 – Last season’s couture collection featured a variety of wedding gowns with horsehair detailing, and while the White by Vera Wang collection didn’t show horsehair as a headpiece, there was one gown with a horsehair bow/belt. This satin-faced organza and horsehair A-line gown has an origami draped bodice and pick-up skirt. (Style VW351105, $1,400, available January 2012)

5 – I don’t have photos of the two new bridesmaid dresses to share just yet but I will tell you that there are two new designs for the Spring 2012 season.  The bridesmaid dress collection is priced under $200, available in nine colors — they added a new shade, Willow, this season — and can be purchased in sizes 0 to 26.
