Finding a wedding favor that feels personal isn’t always the easiest task. To start brainstorming, think about your hometown or the location of your wedding. Are there any edible local specialties that your guests might enjoy? Presto! That’s a favor idea!

While checking out the Fancy Food Show this week, we saw food companies from nearly every state – and lots of really neat favor ideas! Check out a few of our favorites:

If you’re from New Jersey…First Field ketchup

Okay, so ketchup might not be a conventional wedding favor – but it sure is useful and something your guests can keep for a while. If you’re from the Garden State, you’re probably aware that New Jersey is known for its tomatoes, so if you’re a proud Jersey Girl (or guy), a small jar of locally-made ketchup from First Field could be a fun (and yes, quirky!) favor idea.

If you’re from Texas…Lammes Candies Habanero Pralines

These sweet-and-spicy treats combine two Texas favorites – pralines and chiles! Austin-based Lammes Candies, which has been in business since 1885, also creates pralines in more “standard” flavors, but we think the habanero variety will be a big hit at your Southern celebration.

If you’re from Virginia…The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg

Virginia peanuts not only make a great edible favor, they’re also wonderful as an addition to your welcome baskets for out-of-town guests. The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg offers lots of different flavors, from the chocolate-covered peanuts to a super-spicy wasabi flavor!
