Mary and Stephen were married at The Horticulture Center in Philadelphia, Penn. on February 9. “Having a wedding indoors in a greenhouse was the closest I could come to the outdoors in February,” Mary said. She wore an Alvina Valenta wedding gown with an illusion neckline, accessorized with a faux fur stole, while her bridesmaids wore long black J.Crew dresses, accessorized with brown faux fur stoles. “During the ceremony, I carried the prayer book my maternal grandmother carried when she got married in 1947,” she said. “She had hand covered the book with material from her wedding gown and hand tied ribbons to it.” The newlyweds entered the reception to the band playing the theme song from Star Wars. “All our family and friends had gathered on the dance floor to welcome us in,” Mary said. “We weren’t really sure what to expect, but that moment was so warm and exhilarating. One moment we will never forget!” Tables were decorated with baby’s breath in blue mason jars atop tree woodcuts and a sprig of Princess Pine at each place setting, which ended up being attached to each guests’ lapel by the end of the night.
