Chrissy and Matt were married at The Inn at Mount Vernon in Sperryville, Va. on October 19. “It’s a working farm that has renovated their farmhouse into a B&B and their former dairy barn into an event space,” Chrissy said. “The barn is SPECTACULAR. It is nearly 100-years-old. . . but has so much character and interesting architecture that it doesn’t feel empty. It was the perfect blank slate for all of the personal touches we wanted to incorporate into our wedding.” The bride wore a lace v-neck fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a blue hydrangea and red dahlia bouquet, while the groom wore a black suit. Bridesmaids mix ‘n’ matched yet coordinated in different colors and kept warm with yellow pashmina shawls. “We chose to have all of our group portraits and formal shots before the ceremony to save time and make the best of the afternoon light, so we had a first look before we got started,” she said. Notice the no peeking bunting banner? The intimate nuptials overlooked Old Rag Mountain — even a bluegrass trio played! Rose petals were thrown during the recessional as guests yelled, “hooray!” The reception was oh-so colorful with lit paper lanterns and cafe string lights, adn there was plenty of pies. “It was a nod to Matt’s father and stepmother, who served pies at their wedding,” Chrissy said.
