WeddingWire and The Events Boutique recently hosted a modern garden party community event in Long Beach, California. Engaged couples, wedding party members, family, and friends from throughout the LA and Orange County areas gathered at the Museum of Latin American Art for an afternoon of mixing, mingling, and wedding inspiration. Talented LA and OC wedding vendors joined the Sunday soiree to share expert advice and create a beautiful event that was bursting with big day excitement. From interactive food walls and stunning decor to creative cocktails and live entertainment, there was no shortage of “I Do” inspiration! Read on for a glimpse into the stunning soiree, with images captured perfectly by Scott A. Nelson Photography.

Real Wedding: Venue as Design Inspiration

Posted by mallen on Aug 29, 2011

Brides are often advised to not buy their wedding gown until they book their venue, to be inspired by the look and feel of the wedding day space before selecting their dress.  Angela and Reggie took that concept a step (or nine) further and designed every aspect of their wedding day around their venue, the historic Ebell of Los Angeles.

They incorporated the antique gilded ceiling into gold vintage chairs; the floral accents in the chandeliers and frescoes sparked floral creativity in the royal tones of pinks and purples; the grandeur of the tall ceiling and arched windows were mirrored in the ceremony canopy and the embroidered, curtained train of the bride’s gown.  Flowers were displayed on pillars that paralleled the architectural pillars throughout the ballroom.

WeddingWire has teamed up with 104.3 MyFM and The Charming Little Event Company to give one lucky couple from the Los Angeles area a dream wedding BUT they only have one week to plan!

We are thrilled to congratulate Ashley and Mike, the winning couple in our My Wedding in a Week contest!

Fall is a season that all caterers love because the bounty of the harvest is so rich and varied, and the flavors and spices are so full-bodied…it is a recipe for amazing food in all regards.  So keeping within the small bite format that is so trendy for receptions, I’m going coast to coast for autumnal menu inspirations from some of the industry leaders in the catering world today.
