Q & A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
The biscuits and the fried chicken! Loveless Café is featured on all sorts of food television shows for their famous biscuits and fried chicken. One bite and we knew we had to have our reception there. Our friends and family still cannot stop talking about that food.
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
- The personal touches everywhere. Brett’s dad hand painted all of the birdhouses for our centerpieces and created majority of the signs / decorations. Almost all of our décor was passed down or borrowed from our family and friends.
- Our guestbook. We had one of our engagement pictures printed on a guitar and asked everyone to sign it. It is something that is now hanging in our house that we get to look at and read every day.
- Our bridal party’s shoes. All of the girls wore their favorite boots and the boys wore their favorite tennis shoes. People said we were crazy to allow the boys to wear whatever, but they loved it. It was a way for them to add their own flair and be different…even if it meant seeing neon orange shoes in our wedding pictures.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
My daddy/daughter dance. I am the youngest to four older brothers so I am truly daddy’s little girl. It is tough with him living in Michigan and I am in Nashville so I wanted this to be a special dance. I did something a little different and asked him to pick out the song. He surprised us all and started doing the robot to “Push It.” Everyone died laughing. But then it cut to “Timeless” by The Airborne Toxic Event. It is not your traditional daddy/daughter dance song, but I lost it hearing the lyrics. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place. I still can’t listen to the song without tearing up. I will be a daddy’s girl forever.
