As the focal point of your decor, your centerpieces heavily influence the overall look of your wedding reception. So make them count! Go with towering glass cylinders, soaring ceramic vases, or grand candelabras with your floral arrangements for an instant dose of drama and elegance. As a former bride, I found centerpieces to be one of the biggest projects every bride faces.  With the era of “DIY” brides in full swing, there is a lot expected of you!  Do you go with a florist and leave it at that, or do you take on the task of creating several (at least 10) tables worth of decor, to tie your wedding together and for an extra something for guests to take home.

Sunflower Dude and I decided to incorporate Disney into the wedding, we got engaged in Disney World and went there for our honeymoon, to put it simply, we are a Disney family.  On the other hand, we were having a rustic, fall wedding with burlap for miles.  We decided to separate the venue into four sections: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios (MGM) and Animal Kingdom, of course!  Then in each “land” we created some of our favorite places, rides and restaurants into tables!

How did you all incorporate something you love into your wedding?  How did you decide on centerpieces?  I’d love to know!

Centerpieces are just as important as your bouquet. For any fall wedding, incorporate red, yellow, green and burnt orange colors into your theme, but add details! Wow your guests with details like pumpkins, fresh produce, candles and vases in different heights at each table. Be sure to check out our gallery full of festive centerpieces.

Fall Wedding Centerpieces

Fall is harvest season which means there is fresh produce abound! Get creative and use orange, green and white pumpkins, gourds and other natural decor for a beautiful and sustainable autumn wedding.

Simply fill up glass bottles and vases with water and float some seasonal flowers and mini gourds inside them. You can reuse the glasses after the wedding! This is an inexpensive and eco-chic table decoration that pops with autumnal colors!

A Touch of Country

Poppy Dude and I are very much in love with the simple rural surrounding that we were raised in. It was important that our wedding really reflect those values. I wanted to find a way to get Poppy Dude really excited about the wedding planning process because I know sometimes the groom just smiles and says “whatever you want, honey!” when it comes to picking and choosing wedding details. I had an idea that fit the ticket for both wishes – a touch of country.

Poppy Dude is a “country boy” when it comes down to it. He was raised on his family’s farm/ranch where three generations of men come together to make the operation a success.

When researching and coming up with ideas for centerpieces – it struck me. What’s yellow and plays a huge part in our agriculturally centered lives? Corn and Wheat. I ran my idea by Poppy Dude and his eyes lit up. We decided to incorporate corn and wheat grown right on the Poppy Dude family farm. Corn would be easy to get – Poppy Dude’s family has some stored in bins on the yard. The wheat on the other hand only presented a certain window of time for cutting at the perfect golden color. That’s usually around the 4th of July here in south-central Nebraska, but because it’s been so wet this year it was a little later – even better for us!
