Katelyn and Matt were married at Chicago Illuminating Company in Chicago, Ill. on September 6. “When Matt and I walked into our venue for the first time, both of our hearts started pounding,” Katelyn said. “The venue was modern and nontraditional but very elegant. I think we just knew it was the right venue for us, but the fact that we could have everything on sight, and there was a gorgeous, ivy courtyard definitely helped.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace mermaid wedding gown with a keyhole back, accessorized with her hair in an updo, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and a pair of Badgley Mischka open-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a bow tie. “My veil was previously worn by two of my cousinss, who were also bridesmaids,” she said. “And around my bouquet, I carried a charm with a picture of my nana and pop pop, who were nable to be there with us on the wedding day.” Bridesmaids wore long gray one-shoulder chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranuncluses, hydrangeas, silver brunia balls, and dusty miller. Before the ceremony, the couple did not opt for a first look. “I decided do to one with my dad,” Katelyn said. “My dad and I have been very close, and I knew it would be very emotional for both of us when he saw me for the first time,” she said. “For me, seeing his face when he walked into the room and saw his ‘little girl’ as a bride was one of the best moments of the day.” Guests were greeted inside the loft with ceiling heights ranging from 15 feet to 50 feet. Aisles were lined with floating candles in staggered vases, tall altar arrangements, and fabric delicately draped across the windows for the backdrop. “The other moment I can’t stop thinking about is coming around the corner and seeing Matt for the first time as I walked down the aisle,” Katelyn said. “It immediately felt like we were the only two people in the room. I couldn’t stop smiling and barely kept myself from crying! After months of planning and hours of getting ready, it was such a rush of emotions to see him and finally get to marry him.” Once the exchanging of vows were sealed with a kiss, it was official! Cocktail hour began as the entire wedding party wandered outside to take portraits by Lake Michigan. The reception followed shortly thereafter. Tables were decorated with white linens, gray napkins, mercury glass centerpieces, and votive candles, surrounded by chiavari chairs. After dinner, a three-tiered buttercream-frosted cake was cut and served. Bonus: a late-night snack from The Slide Ride food truck. The newlyweds’ best advice? “During the reception, take a moment to step back with your new spouse and look around,” she said. “Look at all your hard work you put into planning this amazing day and look at all the people, who have come to celebrate you two and love you both.”

Halona and Robert were married at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 13. “The Four Seasons is very private, and they don’t have a casino inside the hotel,” Halona said. “But what made me know this was the perfect venue is there highly-rated staff and wedding coordinators. They are definitely five-star and are amazing at making sure you have the wedding of your dreams.” The bride wore a strapless tulle fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and pair of Badgley Mischka peep-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a matching bow tie and vest. Bridesmaids wore long pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. “We had rehearsed in an empty room, and I had not seen my decor yet,” she said. “So, the moment when the doors opened to the ceremony and reception were beyond breathtaking and a moment I will never forget.” Aisles were lined with floating candles in glass pillars to create a romantic ambience, and a unity candle was placed at the altar in loving memory of a lost one. It said, “This light shines as a symbol of a life and love remembered.” Once the vows were sealed with a kiss, it was official! Not a single guest could resist taking a snapshot during the recessional. They found their seats via a mirror featuring assignments. Tables were decorated with rosette linens, tall candelabra centerpieces, glitter numbers, and crystal votive candles. “The food was delicious,” Halona said. Not to mention the five-tiered cake was suspended hanging from the ceiling! Extra entertainment, outside of the dance floor, was a photo booth complete with props.  The newlyweds’ best advice? “Find an wedding planner that knows different venues and can see your vision miles away,” she said. “Our wedding was a destination wedding, and I read a lot of reviews before I chose Andrea Eppolito to coordinate my wedding. When I say she is great at what she does, I mean it. I was totally blown away . . . it was everything I had dreamed of and more.”

Candlelit Pink Summer Barn Wedding in Canada

From the photographers: “The rustic backdrop of Honsberger Estates in Jordan Station was the stunning location that Sarah and Andrew chose for their wedding day. If love is shown in the details, then Sarah and Andrew out did themselves in showing how special they are to each other.  From the burlap aisle runner to “made-with-love” preserves for guest favors to the wood-planked tables adorned with candle light, snapdragons, and rosebuds kept that elegant feel that Sarah and Andrew had hoped to achieve.  Every gorgeous detail was so beautifully put into place creating a warm ambiance for their friends and family to enjoy as they became husband and wife. 

The morning began with a surprise delivery of flowers to Sarah from Andrew as her aunt was putting the final touches on her classic updo.  After hair and makeup was done, Sarah personally handed out the bridesmaids’ bouquets complete with a added, personal touch – a gift of a brooch made unique to each bridesmaid. Meanwhile, Andrew and the groomsmen enjoyed getting ready at a friends house nearby.  Once the guys were ready, they had fun taking pictures complete with a vintage VW Beetle.  
The old exposed beams and embedded stone made for the perfect setting for their simple ceremony.  One of the highlights of the ceremony was when the guest were asked to join as they were led in a few worship songs that were close to the couple’s hearts, certainly a moment that will not be forgotten.  
For there formal couple pictures, we scouted out a field and grove of birch trees allowing Sarah and Andrew a moment to step away from the guests and enjoy a moment as husband and wife, capturing those intimate images that they had been dreaming of.  
As a special treat for their guests, Sarah and Andrew entertained their friends and family with a live band – The Postmen.  From fun dinner music to their first dance and some crazy fun on the dance floor, The Postmen kept the party rocking and did an amazing job.  To top of their amazing day, Andrew had a little secret that he had been planning for Sarah.  As night fell and the party came to an end, Sarah and Andrew got ready to exit with sparklers and guests waving goodbye.  Unbeknownst to Sarah, Andrew had arranged for some of the groomsmen to be hiding out in a local field with fireworks.  As they drove away, the sky was lit up.” — Mike and Jenny Vinson of VP Studios Photography

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

The view of Camelback Mountain, which is where we were engaged on the top! I loved the Moroccan feel and romantic style throughout the resort. 

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

3. If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what woud it be?

Enjoy every moment, including the detail planning. Make it a special time for all who attend and let your love show through every last detail.

When the bell rang, and the doors opened, I saw my groom smiling at me! Having my Dad on one side and Brian on the other gave me a security and feeling of overwhelming love.

Q & A with the Bride:

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

I wanted my wedding to have a personal, warm and natural feel to it. I also wanted to create a space that would be rustic yet elegant. The perfect venue was my parents’ log cabin restaurant Jesse’s in Hanover, New Hampshire. I was able to add the elegant touches to the log cabin restaurant by working with my Mom and Lynda Dandeaneau, who added all the little details throughout the restaurant. Also the finishing touches were the beautiful sail cloth tent and handmade harvest tables made by Brandon Blood of Bloods Catering.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

 1. My non- traditional ceremony – It was everything I wanted and more. My husband Nick and I are not religious people, and we are both free spirits. We wanted our ceremony to be in an outside open area. We decided on the Bema at Dartmouth. The Bema is an outside, natural amphitheater in the middle of the woods in downtown Hanover, New Hampshire. It was the perfect place. I realized my childhood dream of arriving at a magical place in a horse drawn carriage. We got out of the carriage and walked down the aisle to the music of an incredibly talented guitar player whose music features a reggae twist. My favorite part of the ceremony was that my father was the Justice of the Peace and married us. Instead of traditional readings, my Mom and two close friends gave us heartfelt advice for our future as husband and wife. For the recessional, we walked out to my Mom and Dad’s wedding song, Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”.

2. My dress – it was fabulous! Definitely, the centerpiece of the wedding!

3. The ambience, the flowers, farm tables and candlelight everywhere.

3. Give us the one moment from your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about. 

It was almost the end of the night, and Nick and I were finally able to sit back and observe everything together. As we toasted to the amazing day we had, we looked out on the dance floor-it was packed. All of our guests were on the dance floor, including the wait staff! We smiled at each other and talked about how lucky we were to have had such an amazing day. It meant so much to us that so many friends and family that traveled all this way to celebrate with us. Seeing everyone havIng such a wonderful time made our night. Nick grabbed my hand and we joined them! My wedding was a dream come true for me!
