Decor Inspiration from the Bride: “From the beginning I knew that I wanted a relaxed wedding that depicted the look of a fancy garden party. I am extremely lucky to have an outrageously talented and creative mom who is an interior designer that could help execute many of the ideas that we would come up with. This was especially important because we did not want to break the bank with our wedding, and luckily completed the whole thing extremely resourcefully. The focal point of our wedding theme came when I was deciding on our Save the Dates. One of the first purchases Dan and I made for our place together was a Woodstock poster that turned into our first little piece of art in our new home — perfect because it really depicts both our style and attitudes. We found an amazing graphic designer (Angela Trbovich) on Etsy that was able to turn our favorite poster into a creative Save the Date, so that and the dove instantly became the theme of our wedding. I also knew that I loved the idea of a classic black and white wedding that we could incorporate moss green into to depict the garden feel. From there, my mom and I began scouting out ideas from blogs, magazines and inspiration from many of the decor pieces that we currently owned to complete every detail of the wedding. While it was a lot of work to take on almost everything ourselves, we wouldn’t change a thing. In addition to making the entire wedding extremely affordable, it allowed us to add a personal touch to every detail and, to be honest, the process of it all and the planning with my mom and family was the most fun and memorable of everything.”
