Fall Wedding Colors: Purple and Plum

wine and plum for wedding flowers

To make this inspiration board my first stop was J. CREW. I snagged this hot little dress and came home to show you some of my favorite fall color combinations.

A many a bride has believed if she married in the fall she needed to go with the typical orange, gold and burgundy tones of autumn.  Please, don’t get me wrong I love the burnt fall colors, you see so frequently in fall weddings.  I just really love these as additional option.  The deep dark purple tones are still so very much fall or even winter. The absence of white or pastels makes the above color scheme a really bold statement.

Here are some other bouquets, that would work really well with this colored dress.

purple hydrangea, purple callas, purple orchids and purple stock

dark purple carnations, purple callas, purple orchids, and purple stock

Here we took the dark purple and added red, white and a bit of the bright green. The white and green were added to this color combination to give more of a contrast between the dress and the bouquet.

If you really are wanting some of the orange tones, you would be pleasantly surprised how well they also work with purple and plum.

Have fun with purple and plum in the fall.
