Karen and Joonho were married at The Society Room of Hartford in Hartford, Conn. on April 5. The bride wore an antique colored drop waisted wedding gown with a beaded bodice and tiered feather skirt, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a white vest and bow tie. Bridesmaids wore purple short one-shoulder chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, dahlias, and daisies. Before the ceremony, the couple opted to do a first look on Pratt Street, which is located near The Capitol Building. Perfect for portraits! The ceremony and reception both took place inside the ballroom. Following the lighting of the unity candle, it was official. The newlyweds made their grand entrance down a sweeping staircase into a room of grand marble columns soaring high above guests. Escort cards were attached to mini elephants (a nod to the Asian culture), tables were decorated with floating candle centerpieces, and signature “Carolina on my Mind” drinks were served. The best part of the night? Dancing to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin,’ which was a total crowd pleaser.
