My mom has been very busy this past month planning my family Bridal Shower. She’s been so excited with every aspect of the planning that she found it hard to keep it a secret, so I’ve been let in on various details of the shower.
Along the way, a theme began to develop: Spring Garden. My mom absolutely loves to garden and it was really fun to watch her incorporate aspects of this hobby into a really great sounding shower. One of her favorite projects was the favours – a cute garden trowel and seed combo.
For this you will need:
- garden trowel (purchased at the Dollar Store for $2.00 each)
- packet of seeds (purchased in bulk at the local garden store for $0.20 each)
- ribbon (to match your theme colours – ours was pink and yellow)
Step 1: Place a few pieces of tape on the back of a seed packet and attach to base of trowel (you should be able to press it flat against the base)
Step 2: Cut desired length of ribbon and tie around base of trowel and seed packet. Curl ribbon with scissors.
That’s all – its a very simple but cute project . To go along with the trowels, my mom is giving each guest an individual Basil plant (most guests are Italian and they love Basil) which costs an additional $1.29, bringing the total of each favour to $3.49.
