Beautiful white inspired style shoot by Kristen Steele Photography featuring jewelry designer Stella Dot, and local Nashville dress shop, Olia Zavozina.  Gorgeous details for a table setting, as well as a great bouquet. Real DIY Vintage Wedding: Christy + Kyle

Christy + Kyle

Portland, OR

August 2010

From the Bride: “Over the course of ten months, Kyle and I were able to plan every aspect of our wedding. We mixed both modern and vintage elements to create a charming and fun day for ourselves and our guests. We a took a do-it-yourself approach to all of the details. Kyle, a graphic designer, made the save the dates, the invitations and our wedding website. I, being a lover of all things crafty, took a metalsmithing class so that I could make Kyle’s wedding band as well as the bridesmaids earrings. I also collected vintage flower brooches for months that I turned into my bouquet using a variety of craft store items. At the reception we also covered an entire wall (12’x25′!) with ribbon, and for two months before the big day I spent evenings cutting ribbon to the exact length of the wall to make hanging easier. Our guest gifts were also handmade; I cut fabric with pinking shears and made them into satchels that held local coffee beans for our guests to take home. One final fun element was a vintage typewriter that was used as a guestbook. I now have some amazing well wishes to frame and hang on our wall. The wedding day itself was a blast! The ceremony took place in a downtown city park, and nearly 100 of our closest friends and family showed up to celebrate with us. A fleet of pedicabs (bicycle rickshaws) then picked up the entire wedding party, and we rode in style seven blocks to our reception hall.” – Christy

Real Rustic Elegant Wedding: Sara + Trevor

Sara + Trevor

July 2010

Ann Arbor, Michigan

We are extremely excited to share this wedding.  Mostly because Amy Carroll’s photography is amazing, but also because this wedding is filled with perfect details great for inspiration. One of the best parts of the entire thing was the bride’s two pairs of shoes! White for the ceremony, and blue Badgley Mischka heels (a gift from a very generous friend!).

From the Photography: “First of all, Sara and Trevor have great vision and style and this wedding…definitely ranks high on my list of favorites for amazing weddings.   Their ceremony…a traditional catholic ceremony in Ann Arbor…perfect in every way.  Afterward heading to U of M’s campus for some group shots but then…off to the very rustically adorable Misty Farms.  A newer venue complete with beautiful barns, chickens (much to my delight and more on that below!), horses and immaculate grounds.   Even after the threat of rain had everyone scurrying to make the outdoor cocktail hour an indoor affair, the planner didn’t miss a beat.  Sara and Trevor have a shared sense of humor and love for each other that I found refreshing and fun to work with.  I was more than delighted that I had the honor of capturing this day, of being part of the fun, and seeing their vision come together.” –Amy Carroll Photography
