Wedding Favors + Sweets: Our Candy Bar

Posted by apple on Nov 25, 2013

Hello, Garden! Today I’d love to share our candy bar, which we used as a wedding favor for our guests. We stuck with the black and white with red theme matching all the candies to that. Everything came out perfect and the setup was so cute! The candy jars and scoops were borrowed from a friend and the cake pops were made by my Aunt May.  I printed out the Love Is Sweet sign here, and found the frame at Hobby Lobby for half off.

So fun and a great, cost-effective wedding favor!  What did all you gals use as your wedding favors?  Any other candy bars out there?

Bridesmaid Hanger Gifts

Posted by apple on Aug 16, 2013

We’ve all seen customized hangers for brides, but what about your bridesmaids?  I wanted to get my girls something a little different and something custom to each onte.  The Hanger Girl on Etsy designs these customized name hangers in bulk, which was great for me since I needed six.  They came out super cute and all the girls loved them!

Centerpieces

Posted by sunflower on May 03, 2013

As a former bride, I found centerpieces to be one of the biggest projects every bride faces.  With the era of “DIY” brides in full swing, there is a lot expected of you!  Do you go with a florist and leave it at that, or do you take on the task of creating several (at least 10) tables worth of decor, to tie your wedding together and for an extra something for guests to take home.

Sunflower Dude and I decided to incorporate Disney into the wedding, we got engaged in Disney World and went there for our honeymoon, to put it simply, we are a Disney family.  On the other hand, we were having a rustic, fall wedding with burlap for miles.  We decided to separate the venue into four sections: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios (MGM) and Animal Kingdom, of course!  Then in each “land” we created some of our favorite places, rides and restaurants into tables!

How did you all incorporate something you love into your wedding?  How did you decide on centerpieces?  I’d love to know!

Candy Bar Love

Posted by apple on Jan 04, 2013

Who doesn’t love candy?!  And candy at a wedding?!  I’m in!  I always wanted a candy bar at my wedding and boy was it a hit!  I wrote about my Love Is Sweet printable here, and now I can show you the final result thanks to my mom’s beautiful pictures.  My aunt was kind enough to make cake pops for the table, and they came out so cute!  I love how everything went with our black and white with red color theme.  The candy bar/cake pops also doubled as our wedding favor for guests which worked out perfectly because I was having a hard time figuring that detail out.

Not only were the cake pops cute, but they tasted amazing!  All the candy jars and scoops I borrowed from a friend, and the black cake stands I purchased on Amazon here.  I was also fortunate to have a great contact for bulk candy purchase and was able to get all the candy for an amazing price.  I was thrilled with how everything turned out, can’t wait to share more pictures with you from our professional photogs!
