Bridal Market Recap: Simone Carvalli

Posted by Jeffra on Apr 18, 2011

Simone Carvalli’s Fall 2011 collection hit on many of the season’s trends — floral, tiers, one-shoulder necklines, tulle — and each of their dresses added that va-va-va-voom detail to ensure that a bride will look and feel both beautiful and sexy on her big day.

Here are five wedding dresses from the collection that caught my eye:

1 – Mini-dresses are a great option for an informal wedding or as a reception dress.  This ivory one-shoulder mini-dress features three-dimensional flowers with a touch of sparkle on the skirt.  A great dress to show off your legs.

2 – Bride’s searching for that Hollywood glam look may want to slip into this white silk satin gown.  The strapless bodice is encrusted with silver beading and embroidery and the mermaid skirt is sure to hug you in all the right places.

3 – Dreamy is the word that comes to mind when I first saw this ball gown.  The pleated strapless bodice is embellished with a crystal belt and the full skirt features an asymmetrical overlay.

4 – Dropped waist gowns are everywhere but I especially like the colored ribbon placed above the flowing skirt on this one.  The splash of color is a great detail for brides who want their dress to pop.  In addition to the sexy silhouette, the draped bodice will also enhance your curves.

5 – Tulle was seen in many, if not all, collections this season.  The light and airy look of tulle was used on bodices and skirts in several ways including this layered skirt and pleated bodice shown here.  Contrasting the tulle fabric is an ornate silver embroidery and beading applique on the dropped waist seam and cascading on to the bodice.
