Bridal Market Recap: Mon Cheri

Posted by Jeffra on Apr 12, 2011

Mon Cheri designs prom dresses, pageant dresses, evening gowns and of course wedding dresses.  There are several wedding gown lines under the Mon Cheri label:  Mon Cheri Bridals, Sophia Tolli, Destinations by Mon Cheri and debuting for Fall 2011 is Tony Bowls.  Tony is well respected, and quite popular, as a prom and pageant dress designer.  Brides who have worn a dress by Tony in the past are sure to love his new wedding dress collection.

Since I’m only reporting on one fabulous dress from each line, make sure to check out the rest of the dresses in each collection in the WeddingWire dress gallery.

Mon Cheri Bridals:  The neckline of this two-piece wedding dress caught my eye.  A number of designers showed a strapless neckline where one side was raised higher than the other.  So how is this a two-piece dress?  The lace top and belt are removable to reveal a sexy strapless A-line gown.  And if you’re not comfortable in strapless you can add spaghetti straps or a halter neckline.

Sophia Tolli:  Lace was very popular on the runway this season, but if an all-over lace gown isn’t for you may want to opt for this mermaid wedding gown.  The designer draped a lace overlay over the satin gown.  And to add a touch of sparkle, the lace is lightly dusted with sequins.  Plus, the gown is made with a corset to ensure a perfect fit!

Destinations by Mon Cheri:  I just love this lace and tulle ballerina-length dress.  It’s perfect for any daytime wedding no matter what the destination is.  The dress reminds me of the 1950s New Look by Dior with its cinched waist and full skirt.  Though I don’t think I’d pair it with the black caged veil…probably a white one.  Add a pop of color with fabulous jewelry and a beautiful bridal bouquet.

Tony Bowls Bridal:  Talk about a show stopper!  This A-line tulle and satin gown with plunging V-neckline is encrusted with Swarovski crystals.  In addition to the bling, there are feathered tulle petals scattered all over the skirt.
