Even though the weather at WeddingWire HQ seems to think otherwise, we consider May the month of sunshine and flowers in bloom. This week, we’ll be sharing lots of floral arrangements to inspire you. We’re kicking off the week with bridal bouquets. Think of your bouquet as your main accessory for your wedding day – and like any accessory, you want to make sure it fits with your wedding’s theme and feel. Check out some of our favorites to help get you started:
Classic – For a formal wedding, go for a highly structured bouquet with a cohesive color scheme. Solid white arrangements or palettes of soft pinks and pale yellows are traditional and oh-so elegant. Opt for timeless blooms like roses, lilies, peonies or hydrangeas and tie together with a satin ribbon or monogrammed handkerchief.
Romantic Whimsical – Channel that dreamy romantic side with a sweet, fluttery bouquet. Go with soft tones like light pink, peach, lavender, pale green, periwinkle and buttery yellow. Create a loose arrangement of delicate blooms like orchids, ranunculus, primroses, anemones, fluffy peonies or, of course, romantic roses. Accent with sprays of Lilly of the Valley or dusty miller leaves.
Rustic – For the perfect countryside wedding bouquet, focus on texture. Mix earth tones with vibrant pops of color and incorporate intriguing organic accents like succulents, scabiosa pods, lotus pods, thistle or billy balls. Mums, dahlias and hydrangeas are popular choices for the base flower, while wildflowers like daisies, asters or irises and shoots of delphinium or lavender make wonderful accents. Wrap the bouquet in burlap, twine or birch for the perfect rustic look.
Glamorous – Make a statement on your big day with a grand, dramatic bouquet. An overflowing arrangement of monochromatic blooms accented with jewels, pearls, or feathers will do the trick. Long, cascading bouquets can be the perfect option for the bride who wants to incorporate a hint of glam without overdoing it.
