Both whiteCHICAGO and whiteXchange.com were born on the premise that bridal style shouldn’t have to be sacrificed for price. Ursula was newly engaged and desired a designer dress but also wanted to splurge on flowers. Being a clever bride she figured out a way to have the best of both worlds. Ursula went to the cities and suburbs, consignment shop to consignment shop and what she thought was a smart thing to do, made her feel like she was being too frugal. The atmosphere she wanted and expected was only to be found in the designer shops so she ended up purchasing an expensive gown, having wonderful flowers and going over budget!

After the wedding, her cherished gown was taking up too much room in her now “shared” closet and there was no room for it under the bed. Ursula thought it would be great if another bride enjoyed her much loved gown - it was too pretty not to be worn again. She could pass on the love and recoup some of her wedding costs. But the problem was Ursula couldn’t find a place worthy of her treasure. Then, the idea was crafted – open an art gallery for dresses; a sleek, contemporary environment where style, fashion and affordability are embraced.

The vision came to fruition when Stacy Senechalle joined as a partner and confidant. Stacy had always been referred to as “the go to girl” when hunting for favorite fashion finds so it seemed only fitting that she would become the expert that brides call on. She strives to make shopping for the perfect dress an experience that won’t be forgotten.

After three years of helping brides find their designer dream gowns for a fraction of the retail price, Ursula and Stacy decided to expand and reach brides on a national level. They wanted to give brides a convenient way to buy, sell and consign online, which mirrored the in-store whiteCHICAGO experience. They also wanted to reach more than just brides. In April 2009, Ursula and Stacy launched whiteXchange.com, an exclusive online consignment boutique not only for fashion and budget-conscious brides, but for ‘maids and Moms too.
