The Rev. Michael Bittle is an experienced, humorous, warm-hearted individual who believes weddings should be fun and stress-free for the bride and groom. His particular background makes him very suitable for spiritual ceremonies as well as religious ones.

This is YOUR Special Day, and Michael will do everything he can to make sure your wedding ceremony reflects YOUR wishes.

The typical fee for a wedding ceremony is $ 250; a wedding rehearsal (if necessary) is an additional $ 150. If the wedding is within 50km of Hamilton there are no additional fees; beyond that any reimbursable expenses will be agreed upon in advance.

Michael is open and flexible about all aspects of the wedding service. Do you want to write your own vows? Do you have favourite readings you want included? Are there special family or friends who you want to participate in the service? A typical wedding is about 20-30 minutes or so, and this can be shortened or lengthened to suit you.

The main thing to remember is that this is YOUR Special Day! Whatever you want to do is OK!

Michael is often asked about performing a "non-denominational" ceremony.  This term means different things to different people. In essence, it really means that the service will not follow the rules or wording of any particular church denomination. This is quite a bit different from a "civil" ceremony.

In a "non-denominational" service, there will still be at least a minimal reference to "God". In a "civil" service, there is no reference to God or any other spiritual being.

Michael is very experienced in performing denominational services (eg Catholic, Anglican, Reformed, United, etc), non-denominational services, and spiritual services. He has performed weddings that have also included other faiths, such as Hindu, Moslem, Sikh, and Jewish.
