 My wedding video is my greatest treasure from my wedding. No where else in my collection of memorabilia from photos to gifts do I have my grandmother looking at me and talking directly to me telling me how much she loves me and wishes me wealth, health and happiness! Or my Father in Law telling my husband that he couldn't be happier for his son. The video captures our loved ones in live motion, being themselves and having a great time. I can see their joy and HEAR their laughter! Davids 93 year old Grandmother playing the violin and dancing around is just something you can't hear in a still photo. VideoMagic Productions wants full peace of mind on your day as do you. Therefore, we always have a videographer "on-call" in the event of an emergency. Fortunately in 21 years we are proud that this has never been necessary.
 
Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
Many studios produce "cookie-cutter" type wedding movies that often look the same from one to the next. At VideoMagic, we pride ourselves on customizing each wedding movie with the help of your input on music, style and more. Your editor will spend a good deal of time with you to discuss the details and styles which are most important to you.
 
How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
Your preview DVD will be available to you approximately 14 weeks after the wedding. Once approved, your final DVD with chapters, animated buttons, music and a beautiful insert will be created within 2 more weeks.

What Do I Look For In A Videographer?
Most importantly, look for the style and quality of work they are producing.  As you shop around, compare not only price, but picture quality, number and type of cameras, editing style and more.  Is the sharpness of the image what you expect, or something that a camcorder can produce?  Is the audio clear without hiss and can you hear the vows clearly?  Are the videographers professional in appearance?  Are they members of any professional organizations?  Have they won any awards for their work?  Will the videographer be easy to get along with?  A lot of questions can be answered by your visit or phone call.

What Kind of Technology Should I Be Aware Of?
With today’s digital technology, you should expect to receive a very high quality image.  First, ask whether the prospective company is shooting, editing and mastering digitally.  Next, is to determine if you want Standard Definition (SD) or High Definition (HD).  For most couples, SD is more than adequate if the company uses high quality cameras.  However, if you’re looking for the latest and greatest, then HD may be for you.  Keep in mind that the cost of HD could range from 20%-50% more than SD.

How Much Should I Budget For A High Quality Wedding Movie?
A wedding movie can either be the greatest heirloom of your life or possibly the worst money spent on your wedding.  Almost every couple which uses VideoMagic exclaims that their movie was "the best money spent on the entire day."  Believe it or not, hiring a well qualified film company can be the least expensive service of the day relative to the time and cost involved.  A company like VideoMagic dedicates about 70 man hours into the average wedding movie production.  Additionally, we have invested enough money in our equipment to purchase a small home.  Considering these factors, it is very reasonable to plan on spending at least $2500 to get something worthwhile.  Remember, you get what you pay for in life and this saying is ever so true when it comes to documenting the most important day of your life. 

Will the camera operator be intrusive or disruptive?
We have heard the horror stories of other video companies with bright lights on the altar, or the cameraman who moves right up between the minister and the couple.  One thing that seems consistent with all of our couples is their comment,  “We knew you were there, but we hardly saw you.”  VideoMagic Productions respects the religious aspect of your wedding, so we work very discretely at your ceremony.  During the reception, we also work consciously to film the perfect moments in ways that will not disrupt you or the guests.
