Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We work with the complete range of lighting found in wedding situations -- from candlelight through complex studio light, to direct sunlight, to the magic light of sunrise and sunset.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We shoot primarily in high-end, full-frame digital. Film is available as an extra-cost option on request, shooting in 6x7 cm medium format, 35mm, or 4x5 inch film. When shooting film, its typically done in addition to digital, for specific portions of the day.
How many photographers do you work with?
Paul and Brenda work as a team, and their work reflects both their unique artistic viewpoints and their shared love for beautiful, emotional story-telling in pictures.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Who you hire is who you get -- we never subcontract. We believe you should get the photographers whose work you see in the studio's portfolio. For certain types of weddings, additional assistants or photographers may be added, but Paul and Brenda are always the primary photographers.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never shoot more than one event per day. On weekends where we travel a great distance, we only book one wedding,
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
In order to guarantee a replacement, we would have to hire a "backup" wedding photographer of equivalent skill and experience, and have them not book their own weddings -- instead, sit by the phone with bags packed every day we have a wedding scheduled. This would essentially double the cost of our service. It's the only way. And we know of NO photographers who do this! That being said, we have a great relationship with many other wedding photographers, and in the case of illness or some other issue, have many resources to draw on. And in all our years of shooting weddings, we have never been late or missed a wedding!
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Brenda and Paul each carry two cameras and a complete range of professional grade lenses and flashes. In addition, we bring a complete spare system in case of equipment failure. We keep our equipment new and up-to-date: for the 2012 wedding season, we are shooting with Nikon D3S, D700, and D7000 cameras. We bring a complete set of studio strobes (five) with radio triggers so we can create beautiful light in any situation.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, we have spares of every essential piece of equipment used at the wedding, ensuring a seamless transition in the case of malfunction.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We are very flexible. For small, simple weddings we can charge by the hour. For more traditional weddings, we make ourselves available for the entire day. We have a package for every budget and need!
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Yes, because we only book one event per day, we are always able to come early and stay late if required. Overtime charges depend on the package selected, but typically run $249/hr
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Typically, the only time we take a break is during the reception dinner service -- most people don't want to be photographed while they are eating!
Do you charge for travel?
There is no charge for travel anywhere in tbe States of NY, VT, NH, MA, NJ or RI. For destination weddings or weddings in other countries or states, there may be a small travel fee, depending on time of year, day of week, and specific location.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Generally, the proofs are available for preview in a couple of weeks after the wedding; sometimes at the end of the wedding season, it can take up to a month, but usually we keep it to under three weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are available on our website, and can be immediately downloaded or viewed by family and friends. You can also order prints in a wide range of sizes at reasonable prices, directly from our web site. We also offer hard and soft-cover preview book options.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs are available on our web site for at least one year. If you purchase a proof book, it is yours to keep forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
While we retain the copyright to the photos, we give you a usage license that allows you to print, publish, distribute, and use the photos in any way you like, forever, with no need for further payment to or permission from us. The only thing we ask you not to do is sell the images for the commercial use of a third party, without involving us.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Unless you request that we not do so, we ask you for the right to use pictures from your wedding as examples of of our work. Without this right, no photographer could show you samples of their work.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes, we provide high resolution digital files on CD or DVD, along with a usage license permitting you to use them.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, images are available on our online website, and can be either public so that all your guests and relatives can view them, or private in a password-protected gallery.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer contemporary hard-cover coffee-table albums with beautiful magazine-style layout in a variety of sizes and page counts, as well as more traditional leather-bound and matted albums, ranging in size from 8x8" to 16x20". We also offer book sets, with separate albums for engagement, getting ready, ceremony and engagement.
When will the client get the final album?
Usually it takes two to three months for the professional design and layout of your book. Once you approve the book layout, it takes between 2 and 6 weeks for printing, depending on the printer used.

Additional Answers & Advice:
The Capital Region and Upstate New York has many fine wedding photographers. Paul and Brenda offer a unique blend of story-telling skill, fashionable and artistic imagery, relaxed, non-pushy working style, and exceptional value for the money. When evaluating photographers, don't just look at a portfolio of random pictures from many different weddings. Any photographer who has shot enough weddings will have some outstanding pictures -- a couple from this one, a couple more from that one. Instead, ask to see at least two or three portfolios of entire weddings. This will give you a feel for whether the photographer consistently produces great images of all phases of a single wedding. We feel there are three main things to consider when choosing a wedding photographer: first, you have to like their portfolio and photographic style. Never choose a photographer whose work doesn't match what you're looking, for, but who says they can change their style to match your needs. If their portfolio doesn't please you, move on to another photographer! Second, you have to like your photographers. You will be spending many hours of one of the most important days of your life with them, and everyhing is smoother, more relaxed, and more fun if your photographers get along well with you. Third, you have to find photographers you can afford. Most established photographers do not offer discounts for Saturday weddings during the main wedding season. Some do offer a discount for Friday or Sunday weddings, and especially for weddings during the "off season" and winter months. Generally, the closer you are to a photographer's minimum package, the less likely they are to offer a discount.
