Searching for an unconventional event site? The rich assortment of fine arts and crafts displayed in the 82 studios and six galleries makes a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening - casual or elegant. Built in 1918 to manufacture torpedoes like the one displayed on the first floor, the award-winning renovation of this striking three-story building retains its identity as a former factory - complete with exposed pipes, ductwork, and smokestack - while taking a magical turn at night.

Featuring a whimsical spiral sculpture staircase, the surrounding balcony and catwalks offer an exciting location for cocktails, caricaturists, or strolling musicians, and a view of the dramatic two-story atrium. The main hall measures approximately 150’ x 25’ feet with attractive, newly renovated restrooms and full access to those with disabilities. Larger groups find the addition of the third floor and its unique layout perfect for proms or galas. For a hands-on art experience the rooms in the Art League Gallery may be combined with the main floor to also accommodate larger groups, provide VIP space, or create an intimate lounge. For a spectacular view of the Potomac Riverfront a tent may be placed on the bricked terrace behind the art center for a wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, auction, or whatever your event requires - adding yet another possibility to this remarkable setting in historic Old Town Alexandria.

Wish Special Events	Looking for a unique venue? The Torpedo Factory is where it's at! I love this venue because it's in the heart of Old Town Alexandria (convenient to hotels, parking garages, the waterfront, restaurants, etc), is affordable, is HUGE for being a relatively historic property, and best of all is one-of-a-kind. Where else in the DC area will you find an industrial-looking art center? With the lighting package from John Farr, this spot really turns into a beautiful and completely unique space. I guarantee your guests will be talking about for years to come. It beats any hotel ballroom, hands down. Give Tara a call and go check it out! Be sure to look at the photos of the space with lighting...it's a completely different feel than during the day when it's open to the public.
