I Love Top Tier Wedding Cakes!
Jeannine is amazing! She made a small apple-upside down cake for a private event that left me drooling, and begging for her recipe! Plus, she's just an all-around great person!

Additional Questions and Answers
How far in advance should I order my cake?
Although your cake is not baked until just before the wedding, dates fill up quickly, so it is important to reserve your date well in advance so you will not be scrambling at the last minute to find a baker. Generally 3 - 6 months. Since it is something that can be done in advance, most brides start their planning with their cake as soon as they have their wedding date fixed.

How much of a deposit is required?
A $25 non-refundable deposit will reserve your date for your cake. This is applied to the price of your cake. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding.

May I bring my child(ren) to my consultation?
As exciting as this is for you, the process of designing your cake is incredibly boring to little ones!  Everyone will enjoy it more if a fun activity is planned for them while you are engaged with your consultation. Maybe an hour at the park with some other small friends or a drop off  with Auntie at their favorite fast food restaurant with a playground - you will not be distracted and will be able to concentrate and enjoy the process, and your kids will have a great time as well.

Tips and Advice
* Although your cake is not baked until just before your wedding, dates can fill up fast!  Smart brides will reserve their cakes early - even if they are not completely decided on every detail.  Once your date is reserved, you can take your time on deciding the finishing touches!

*If you fall in love with a design, but the cake is either too large or too small for your needs, not to worry - it’s usually easy to adjust the size.  the tier sizes can be decreased of increased, or a tier can be added or subtracted.

*Make sure and give attention to the placement of your cake table BEFORE the reception.  Look at the area behind the cake with a view to what will appear in your pictures.  That fire extinguisher or Bud sign could detract from your cake and ruin your pictures!

*Many brides love the look of fondant, but hate the texture and taste. Now you can have it all - frost your cake with the icing of your choice and use fondant in your decorations.  You’ll have the look you want but won’t sacrifice the taste of your cake! (It’s also less expensive!)

* To freeze your top tier - place the cake on the upturned lid of an airtight food-storage container, and freeze uncovered for two hours.  Wrap it in plastic wrap, then secure the body of the container in place, like a cake dome.

*Found the cake of your dreams but it’s too large for the amount of guests you expect for your reception?  Some brides have given some of their side cakes as gifts to attendants or family.  Some save one of the tiers for a later special occasion - family dinner of gift opening when they return from their honeymoon.
