Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism

What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Negatives, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We can provide you with any color, black and white or combo of both you like. Sepia is also available.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Light is what makes a picture. Controlling it in any condition is key. We work with what is available. Any true photographer should be able to do so.

Is your media preference film or digital?
We shoot entirely digital now. There is NO reason to shoot with film, unless you want to increase your costs, get less images captured and slow down the process to get your photos in your hands.

How many photographers do you work with?
I work alone unless you want to also hire another one of my team. I currently staff 4 photogs, not apprentices or trainees. Your event doesn't have time to slow down so I can show someone how to use their camera.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
If you book me, you get me. I have only missed one event in my career as a photographer.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never double book days. That's why your deposit is your promise and my signature on a contract is my promise to be at your event... all day, with no time limit if you choose to book us that way.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have 3.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I shoot with Olympus E series cameras. The E3 is currently the fastest focusing camera available and has outstanding low light capabilities. It's not the fastest frames per second camera, but I am not shooting a horse race am I? :)

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes always.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Your choice.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Sure we can go over if you need us. Our rate is based on what package you have chosen or if we are hired hourly.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
One.

Do you charge for travel?
Outside of LA and Orange Counties, yes. It's $100 per vendor hired South of Orange County including Riverside and $100 per vendor hired North of LA to Oxnard/Ventura and out to Lancaster. All other areas are $150 per vendor within California.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Normally the first Wednesday or Thursday after the event online. You will receive your DVD master disc(s) within 2-3 tops.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
All photos on DVD and Online for key photos.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
There yours to keep. They are the originals.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes we do. You may use them anyway you want. You just need to give us credit if they go into print anywhere like a paper, magazine or online.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
See above.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes on DVD.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes online through our site.

What kind of albums do you offer?
Magazine style and Flush Mount.

When will the client get the final album?
It depends on how long you take to choose your images. Right now we are at least 6 months wait on magazine style and at least 8 months on flush mount. We just hired another designer so this will catch up very soon.

Tips and Advice
Don't over plan your event. It needs to flow and having to stick to a very rigid timeline will make it feel like a race not a celebration. Always take care of your vendors and they will take care of you. It's ok if something does not go as planned. You are the only person who will know.
