TERMINOLOGY When choosing wedding stationery it is important to familiarize yourself with the terminology associated with this type of stationery. Here are a few helpful terms, some/one of which I have made up and will only apply to the products in which I offer:
The invitation – lets your guest know when, where, what time and the place in which you will be getting married.
The Reply Card or RSVP Post Card – allows your guest to let you know if they will be coming or not. You guests must mail these back. This will help you tremendously in planning your wedding.
The Reception Card – lets your guest know where the reception will be held, at what time, and often time it includes the city state and zip code.
Miscellaneous Sheet – THIS IS A PHRASE THAT I COINED. It is a sheet of high quality art paper (small, medium or large). It is not an enclosure card, but allows you to inform guests of other important information. This information is printed on art paper and can be used to print: hotel info, directions or etc is printed free of charge and is available for all collections except with the ”3-in-1 collection” (purchase miscellaneous sheet seperately).
Enclosure Cards – a card using the same paper as the invitation, used for informing your guests of other important information or to simply thank the guests (i.e. the thank you card) in matching stationery. The most popular enclosure cards are accommodations, website information, map/direction cards, rain card, thank you cards and blank cards with your monogram initials on front. Some enclosure cards often come with envelopes.
Rain Card – (also referred to as an enclosure card) These cards are enclosed when guests are invited to an outdoor ceremony and/or reception, informing them of an alternate location in case of bad weather. As with other enclosures, rain cards should be placed in front of the invitation, facing the back flap. They are printed on the same quality paper and in the same style as the invitation itself.
