We absolutely LOVE this hotel and venue!

The service level is of the highest quality, the attention to detail keen, and the place is just beautiful.

Michael Howe, the Director of Catering, was extremely responsive and attentive to our needs and wants. Big shout out to you!

We reserved the Grand Ballroom for both our ceremony and reception. And everything turned out perfect! It really was the best day of our lives!

We selected the Modern for our wedding ceremony and reception based on photos and video. We visited the Modern once we arrived to Hawaii and it was more beautiful than the photos led us to believe. We were pleasantly surprised! We wanted to have our ceremony and reception all in one location, which was a big factor in our decision to use the Modern. We had the ceremony on the pool deck, which was perfect for the occasion. The cocktail hour was then help on the second floor sun deck. We missed the cocktail hour because we were out taking photos but our guests did tell us that they enjoyed themselves. The reception then followed on the terrace, with the adjoining room. We chose the buffet menu and there was more than enough food for everyone. The food and desserts were all delicious. The best part of the evening was the service. The wait staff was impeccable and I can not commend them enough. They were all very attentive without making anyone feel suffocated. Several of our guests commented on the wonderful service that the waitstaff provided. Throughout the evening they made sure that all of our guests had everything they needed and were extra attentive to the bride and groom! I can not thank them enough for being part of making our reception a success.

My only suggestion for improvement is to have better response time from the A/V department. My husband handled all the A/V details with Swank, which is the exclusive in house A/V company that the Modern uses. Being that we were in Chicago, we relied heavily on email and phone calls and sometimes the responses took several days. Once we were able to get everything squared away though, Swank was very accommodating and easy to work with.

Beautiful venue! We used the penthouse suite for our wedding reception and the poolside for ceremony.
The staffs are very friendly. Compare to most of the other hotels we talked to, The Modern was quite responsive and fast. The view from the penthouse was just to die for! The food we catered for the reception got lots of positive feedback from our guests. Overall it was good experience except they messed up the bills and we had to go back and forth few times afterwards to correct everything.
